  1. Even if the gift cards work perfectly- they will be a pain to use. You (or ideally, your travel agent) will have to input these numbers to make any payment. So if you save up a whole bunch of gift cards then they will have to be input individually. A huge PITA to be honest. People do this for Disney all the time and while I am accommodating I will request that the guest combine them on the Disney gift card site to make it easier for me and the cast member. Here's what I'd rather you do for Royal Caribbean- FlexPay! This will allow you to pay weekly or monthly a certain amount and it's all set up automatically. It would be the equivalent of putting money away weekly once your cruise is booked.
  2. It can still be repriced, your TA just has to call and ask.
  3. Plenty of people that can walk need accessible rooms. This is not something you should worry about. No one will really even know from the outside that it is an accessible room unless they are really looking at your door and/or peering into your room. "Accessible" does not just mean "wheelchair" and there are definitely plenty of reasons people need those rooms. IMO you're using it correctly. You did not book that room just for a bigger room. That is selfish. That's not what you did. Happy sailing, guilt free!
  4. All cruise lines do run the manifest though the sex offender database. I don't know if they do it themselves or if the government somehow does it. But the manifest is not run until a day or two before departure. Other countries may also run it, like Canada has the no DUI rule and things like that.
  5. I enjoy running on the track when we're at sea and I go like 10 miles in 3 minutes. Eat my dust!
  6. If you're not in a suite you will get shampoo/conditioner combo. I recommend bringing your own conditioner.
  7. It doesn't have to be refundable- but it will remain non-refundable even if pulled into a group. And you have to make full deposit, nothing reduced like next cruise will give you. I see @twangster answered this too but I was already typing so...
  8. Right- if you ask your travel agent they can see it on their end.
  9. I can't find your specific cruise without more to go on but I can see if it's docked or tendered on the travel agent site. Your agent should be able to send you that info. Here is an example: Mon 22Jul2024 Athens (Piraeus), Greece - 5:00 PM Boarding Tue 23Jul2024 Mykonos, Greece 7:00 AM 8:00 PM Tendered Wed 24Jul2024 Chania, Crete 7:00 AM 5:00 PM Docked Thu 25Jul2024 Argostoli, Greece 9:00 AM 7:00 PM Docked Fri 26Jul2024 Cruising - - Cruising Sat 27Jul2024 Kotor, Montenegro 7:00 AM 5:00 PM Tendered Sun 28Jul2024 Split, Croatia 7:00 AM 5:00 PM Docked Mon 29Jul2024 Ravenna, Italy 5:00 AM - Departure
  10. You don't even need luggage tags as the porters will have blank ones at the port. So really the C&A on there means zippo.
  11. A lot of sites have price tracking abilities. But what it doesn't take into account is what you originally paid. Our travel agency has a tool that we use; I get an email when a price changes. But it only says when it changes downward, meaning it could have gone up at some point and is now going down but it's still not lower than what it was. While these tools can be helpful, the only way to know for sure is to actually check the price. Unless your site has a way to input the data on the original price then it's not going to be more helpful than other sites. Sorry.
  12. A cruise wouldn't be canceled if some cabins are empty. It's better to sail with some people than no people! But I'd bet it will fill up a lot more between now and then.
  13. This is true. So if the reservation was made 9 months ago, that means the TA never went into the system to check pricing or deal with your reservation in any way. And you never put it into your Crown & Anchor account, nor did you check your credit card statement. I have no idea what happened here and I will not put the blame on any one person, but I don't see Royal Caribbean doing a price match in this case. This could have been resolved 8 months ago with just a couple of checks.
  14. $19.99 is a much more reasonable price, but that's still too much IMO.
  15. Black Diamond is the private car service I recommend. They have carseats available.
  16. You don't need them; the porters will have them at the port. It's easier if you have them, sure, but they aren't necessary and nothing at all to stress about!
  17. The studio in Miami is basically a replica of the stage with blocking and lighting on it. It's really cool, and allows for a seamless transition to the cast to go from practice to real life.
  18. Still too expensive. Should be included in the cruise price. I'm not going.
  19. Anything you book through a US agency will need to be booked in US dollars- if you book on your own in CAD you can't transfer it either.
  20. This is a neat tool- this is why I don't pay these prices for the drink package. The only time I purchased the package it was on sale for like $37 per day! For my upcoming cruise: Each person needs to drink 6.8 drinks per day to break even No thank you.
  21. I would put the money down first then transfer it. You have 30 days to transfer it to the TA. The reason I say this is that it can take a week to get the transfer through. Normally it doesn't take that long but it does happen. So put the deposits down and email ship, sail date, and all reservation#s (with the last name of the lead guest) to your TA.
  22. I always tell clients final payment date is several days before it's actually due. Because anything can happen on either end.
  23. Basically we get $25 for interior, $50 for oceanview, $100 for balcony or suite. Then we split that with the agency of course. So I could have a $1000 commission that goes down to $100 in two seconds. So if that upgrade was even commissionable your agent gross commission would be no more than $100. Sometimes upgrades aren't commissionable.
