  1. This is just what I thought and I am pretty sad about it. But..gotta keep my chin up and just be happy I’m going to be on this beautiful ship, sailing across the Atlantic, and visiting many great places. Can’t put a damper on this vacation just because the bed won’t be where I would have liked it!
  2. Yup…right with you on the Cape Liberty anxious waiting! Wondering what itinerary will be assigned to Star ️? Guess we’ll know soon enough .
  3. Love this entire blog…and the pictures are great. I got a few food pictures that I will post, but I ate Iguana folks. Yes you heard that right, Iguana. I’m not a very adventurous person when it comes to food, but between our guide and the owner of the restaurant giving a recommendation for it I felt I had totry it. Probably not something I would ever look to eat again, but it wasn’tbad. Just tasted like chicken. I’m wondering if all odd animal foods just taste like chicken! My most adventurous tasting was rattlesnake…which also IMO tasted like chicken. I will admit you are braver than me because no way I would be able to try iguana!! Enjoy!
  4. Hi I hope someone will post some details while on this cruise. I booked the 2025 Oyssey crossing April 27-May 11 so details on weather, clothing, things to do, smooth vs rough seas will all be welcome!
  5. If someone is going to blog on this I will be following. I am actually booked on the return to Rome TransAtlantic from Bayonne but a few different stops for us! So I will be looking for some tips on things to do all those days at sea! Have a great time.
  6. I have also seen the Key at a very comparable price to the internet and not only on long voyages. It seems (to me anyway) that the smaller class ships have it for less than the larger ones. I never indulged in purchasing it as my husband and I typically sail with others and never wanted to ask them to purchase just because I did. wouldn’t want to make them feel guilty if they didn’t want it! But internet…can’t go without that!
  7. Hey there…wondering if anyone can help me out. I’m booked on the TransAtlantic sailing of Odyssey from NJ to Rome in April 2025. I am in a Ocean View Balcony room…12254. I am trying to find out if the bed is near the balcony…as that is what I prefer and being on a 14 night cruise would like to be happy in my space. I checked cruise deck plans.com but the rooms are so scattered it is hard to tell which configuration my room has. If anyone has been on Odyssey and possibly had a room (category 4D) where mine is…would you be kind enough to let me know? I have time to switch the room as my TA is holding 4 together so it would mean just moving me to 12256. Thanks in advance for any insight with this.
  8. Found out tonight our friends who have become cruise partners with us have decided to join us on this cruise! Also my sister-in-law is booked! Not sure my excitement about this cruise will ever fade away…I know it’s a loooong way off!
  9. Oh My Gosh…cannot believe I just booked this! Super excited! Got a great deal (Josh with MEI) and just couldn’t say NO! This cruise is special for several reasons: First time on Quantum class Longest cruise so far Only have to fly one way (from Italy to USA!) Best reason…I will hit Diamond status on the 12th night!! So…anyone joining us?
  10. @AndrewJL just as everyone else has mentioned…no one here thinks you messed up…not at all! Your niece is one lucky young lady to have such a generous Uncle. You can always enjoy a mocktail or two while onboard…even if just to celebrate her turning 16! Payment takes place once your cruise ends, so perhaps you’ll have freed up a bit of extra cash by then. But as many have noted, you can carry on soda to drink throughout the cruise and there are included refreshing juices, coffee, tea, water onboard! As @steverk mentioned the paperwork is the most important thing to remember! We sailed this past summer with our kids and grandkids. Even though my husband’s sea pass had the same room number as our granddaughter (her last name is different), she wasn’t going to be allowed off the ship with us without our daughter’s ok! Luckily our daughter was nearby to vouch for us! So paperwork will be most important for sure! I hope you can relax and enjoy this wonderful gift you’ve given to her!
  11. It’s working now so whatever it was it’s fixed!
  12. You can go to the Royal Caribbean website and on top right sign in. If you have not created an account it will ask for your name, reservation number, and maybe date of sailing? If you downloaded the app to your phone you can see some cruise planner things on that too.
  13. No insight…sorry. But I have been waiting for that schedule too. Although I am now contemplating doing the Transatlantic on Odyssey leaving from NJ April 27, 2025…going to Rome and stopping in Azores and 3 ports in Spain first. Price I saw today is $3450 for 2 people in OVBalcony. I have it on hold but will likely pay the deposit and keep considering it over the next 6 months or so. But I will still be looking for the summer 2025 schedule from their…wondering which ships will be there!
  14. Tried all that…nothing worked. One of my friends is also having same issue. This is all from tonight…started around 7pm and still not working. Oh well, I’ll try again tomorrow! Thanks @Gilley and @CruiseGus
  15. Is anyone having issues trying to get through a mock booking? I get all the way to choosing the room then I just get a spinning anchor which never stops! I tried my phone (android), my iPad, and my HP computer. All the same thing! Anyone else?
  16. The Black Friday sale has great pricing for anyone who wants a balcony OV room for 4 people. I originally booked that for me and my daughter and 2 grandsons. I’d be saving over $300 from the original pricing…however…I changed my booking to 2 connecting OV balconies and paying a lot more! Oh well, one of the families we are cruising with is getting the savings so I am happy for them! Hoping eventually others on this sailing will find this roll call and chime in!
  17. I’m following because I do still get very excited about everyone’s cruises on this blog as well as my own! I will never be able to do much more cruising than I currently do so all my down time at least gets hyped up with everything I get to read about here. Guessing you, @Traveling Mike, are on your way now to FLL and tomorrow morning to the port. Happy sailing!!
  18. @need2cruz I am truly very sorry for your heartache. The very hardest part of life is losing those we love, especially through a senseless act of violence. I pray you will find your peace in order to move on through the rest of your life being able to enjoy and share happiness with others… Grief can paralyze you when you are unable to find inner solace. Of course, the value of human life is most definitely much greater than any inanimate object. However, I believe our posts about losing our magnets to “thieves” are just our way to express and wonder what makes people do things such as this? None of us would ever devalue human life but certainly that is not the only thing any of us value in life!? Again…I offer my deepest and sincere sympathy for your loss.
  19. Thank you so much @jbrinkm for that lovely message. I’m lucky my children and grandchildren live close by and not out of state. When my first grandchild (Gia Bella who will be 16 next month!) was born, I asked my daughter to allow me to take her overnight as soon as she felt comfortable. Lucky for me it only took her about 6 weeks to hand her over . From that point…time with my grandchildren has always been plentiful. My own kids bedrooms became nurseries and then kids’ rooms and still are to this day! I melt too every time they are around ! And I do know how very lucky I am to have them so prominent in my life.
  20. Thankfully I have not been a victim of magnet stealing but would be very upset if I were. The magnets I bring along are mostly hand made by my grandchildren who absolutely love spending a day with me to design and create their masterpieces! Very sad that anyone would stoop that low for whatever reason they see fit!
  21. I loved lunch at Giovanni’s on Independence earlier this month. Now I have Jamie’s booked for lunch when I sail Symphony in May. I do notice the menu is quite different for each restaurant. We tried everything on the menu while on Indy and hoping to try as much as possible at Jamie’s! Looking forward to comparing them myself!
  22. Same to you Raye ( @WAAAYTOOO)… if ours had been a longer cruise I’m sure we would have met up a few more times for drinks! Too bad your Utopia cruise next September is just 2 off from ours…we sail on the 9th! I’m sure we will match dates again someday!
  23. Not understanding how @Lakotamarie or @jbrinkm could even price out just one package before adding another. I’ve never been able to price out just one drink package..it automatically adds my husband right away noting that every eligible adult in the stateroom must purchase the package when one is. When we want only one person to purchase it I have always had to call. Just curious.
  24. Nothing for us or our friends. Healthy then and still. But my prior 2 cruises did not turn out so well…both times I ended up with COVID! Sorry to hear about your illness…hope it passed quickly and you are now back to good health!
  25. First night was Welcome Aboard menu. Second night was French Third was Caribbean Fourth was Italian. It was our first time on Indy too! Loved it. Never had issues finding pool seating. Went to WJ a couple of times and always found a table (there was 4 of us). Visited Sorrento’s every night before crashing and it was delicious every time! What a great midnight snack! Grease was great…they had 2 shows the last night. We went to the 10pm show and there were plenty of seats. The Ice Show was on second night and no problem finding seats. It was a very good show. I wasn’t really thrilled with the comedian on night one. We went to the adult show…his language was a bit rough! He hit on a few very funny topics here and there but at other times I struggled to chuckle. The illusionist is awesome! Very entertaining! That was night three. Our cruise went to Labadee with a sea day before and after it. It was perfect…and the weather absolutely gorgeous! Seas as smooth as glass.
