  1. I called today Re: my August Symphony and moved my GTY neighborhood balcony which was assigned as a Central Park Balcony to a Boardwalk balcony. Ive done both before and like each category are but I prefer a lower deck and more aft . They did this with no issue. I did try to move to an ocean view balcony from my assigned Central Park balcony (it was a $12 difference between them on the website) but my original booking was GTY neighborhood balcony so it would have cost me $900 to move to an ocean view balcony as they went by the original booking category for the change. Didn’t hurt to try!
  2. Hard to believe. Thanks for the warning. If I ever look I’ll be sure it’s on a day when I have a lot of room for frustration!
  3. This thread spurred me to check my GTY booking. My Symphony in August has already assigned my GTY neighborhood balcony to a Central Park balcony. It was a casino comp if that makes a difference ,IDK.
  4. It sounds like BrianB does this. I tried this once and was told I’d have to reprice-I called 3 times and received the same answer and gave up. keep in mind that holidays were on the excluded list last year I don’t know if that impacts applying trade in value. The trade in value of the prime cruise is $500.
  5. You should be good https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/food-drink-onboard-policy
  6. The husband has his annual prime cruise booked out of Bayonne. It’s not an issue. It’s good anywhere they sail, 7 day or less cruise, with exceptions such as ship must be out over a year and last year most ships were excluded during summer months. (Restrictions subject to change this year)
  7. Take a look at National Express to see if it meets your needs. I took them from the Central Bus Station to Southampton. It looks like you can do something from Heathrow. The earlier you book the cheaper https://www.nationalexpress.com/en/destinations/southampton/london-to-southampton
  8. I’ve read it happens I’ve never tried. Hopefully whatever you book is not during the excluded sailings list they will supply when the annual tier offer comes out.
  9. I can recall an attendant asking that. It wasn’t him though. I’ve never kept my luggage under the bed, doubt I’ll start but apparently now we need to look for the bogeyman under the bed on a regular basis. Adding to my list of things to do.
  10. This will be the first season I know of since Anthem has been in NJ since at least 2017/18 that there will be no indoor pool for children during the cold weather months. . It is my understanding that there will be designated hours for kids at the solarium pool. I do not know what the hours will be or, if in fact, they will be limited.
  11. In my experience Italian night is not night 1 or 2. the refund goes onto your account as OBC, check to make sure this happens. We lost money when someone told my husband it goes directly to my card, it did not, it should have gone to OBC first, then if I didn’t use the OBC onboard it would go back to my card. Needless to say I don’t leave my husband in charge of these things anymore!
  12. You know your child better than anyone else. I was a latch key kid at SEVEN. We walked to and from school on our own, with the other kids on my block, we came home to an empty house. At age 11 I babysat newborns. Do I think any of that was “right”-I guess it was ok. My parents likely had no choice and the parents who had me babysit obviously thought I could handle it. The real challenge will be in a few years when he joins the roving group of young teens/tweens where an alpha male runs the pack and has the innocents engaging in highly questionable behavior. Prayers your son can stand strong.
  13. Happened to my family June of ‘22 in Chops on Oasis. It was Father’s Day-I thought it was for that occasion! They ran a special, I think 5 for $50. thru just for this in Chops on Anthem-$30 per pic-no thanks! both times were dinner. They do not come around at lunch.
  14. I was at Hideaway as well. The ocean water was a tad cold but fine once you got in (about 10:40am). We then went to the pool, and later went to the ocean and it was “practically walk in”…no need to dip quick to “get it over with”. The beach was amazingly clean-no seaweed and I noticed a net at the opening between this bay and the ocean that perhaps kept the big fish out. Chill beach is known for its stingray and shark (hammer?). I have hideaway booked for 2 more of my cruises. At $25 (the sale I purchased at) it was a bargain. I can’t say it would be worth that much more.
  15. What casino level are you and what date was it?
  16. Win/loss statements become available in January. See the link to make the request. Must be notarized https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/casino-win-loss-statements
  17. Only one offer of your own can be applied to one booking. ex. I sailed for 2 different weeks in February. I earned an instant certificate on each cruise. They each begin 2402C##. I cannot use both offers on the same cruise. however for March I sailed with the husband, who also gambled. We each earned an instant onboard certificate, mine for a free cruise, his for $ off. I purchased one next cruise booking reservation and called casino royale to do my booking. I inquired about adding hubby’s $ off certificate and we were each able to use our certificate on my free cruise. His $ off was added and helped cover an upgrade as well as port fees and taxes. My offer was an ocean view, and with his $300 off we moved to a balcony GTY (guarantee)-Royal will assign me a random balcony and I owed a $23. My OBC from next cruise went from $50 for ocean view to $100 OBC. because I moved into a balcony.
  18. Solo will get double points-as long as it’s not a designated solo cabin (that can only hold 1 person (most ships don’t have this) in an interior, ocean view or balcony. You get 3 points per night in a junior suite or above. Royal up will not get you any extra points. Your points are based on the cabin you originally booked. also be aware you are paying twice the amount of your bid, as is everyone else.
  19. Clearly if you e never reached this many points in the past or you would have received a similar offer. log into clubroyaleoffers.com and see if you have other offers, in addition to the instant onboard offer you received. You just need your last name and crown and anchor # come April you will receive an offer (in your club royale account) for a free cruise good for an interior cabin 7 day or less cruise and restrictions may apply (last year a lot of summer was blocked-also a ship cannot be booked until it’s out for a year)
  20. As @F1guynz explained, you earn one point for each $5 you play its $5 of your money, or your wins(credits) on the slot machine sounds like you had a lot more play time for your money, therefore you earned a higher instant cruise certificate which comes with better cabin categories and has a higher trade in value. Additionally the list of cruises is longer for those certs than they would be for the lower point certificates. hosts now have the QR codes on their desk along with the list of points needed for each category of certificate
  21. Adding, if it helps any….i was scheduled to be on the Bayonne cruise to Greenland when Hurricane Lee came traveling up the coast. Lots of worry if we’d make it to Greenland! In order to keep from going in front of the storm we set sail, as scheduled, and went to NYC pier )unscheduled stop) for an overnight (we missed Halifax). on my transatlantic from Southampton to NJ there was a storm, we missed Bermuda and went to Halifax (unscheduled stop) royal will do its best to keep the sailing, but may have to change ports, or just cancel some. in the case of the transatlantic a lot of the Brit’s were saying their insurance covered missed ports. My insurance did not. So read the policy to understand what you purchased.
  22. Each travel policy is unique. Your best bet is to find your copy and read it or contact the company which you bought the policy from and make the inquiry.
  23. They are open in the morning (disembarking day)….you can ask!
  24. It would if they were not removed between sailings. I don’t know if the cleaners overlooked the glasses or the attendant forgot the lids on fresh glasses. These people are overworked. If they had cases of known Noro in the cabins they service those cabins received extra cleaning attention/which must add to their already stressful prep of 25 cabins between sailings. I prefer to err on the side of caution, however you can call it overreaction, I’m not offended.
