  1. Did you book your cruise? You can call Air2Sea and inquire about a shuttle to LGA. If your cruise ends on a weekend in August your traffic should be light. If you end on a weekday you’ll be in traffic. For others reading this May and November have the bike tour and marathon, respectively. It can be a bit of a challenge getting around NYC and the outer boroughs, which you’ll need to do to get to Queens
  2. You are not required to dress up in the specialty restaurants. I’ve dined solo in them. Service is pretty quick typically. Bring your book and enjoy your meal. I’ve never tried take out. I don’t think I would-I’d hate to ruin a good meal.
  3. The dancing on the promenade is typical on a lot of ships with the promenade. I was on Rising Tide bar for one of the parties , they stopped the bar while we were elevated and I enjoyed the party from above. I was glad I didn’t need a bathroom. I think they needed to utilize that space since the other venues were too small and were running other events. Overall I thought they did a good job with the entertainment and space utilization. I will say I was disappointed they didn’t run the shows more often as they followed a 7 day sailing schedule and it was like the 2nd week didn’t exist, aside from the make up shows that occurred for Aqua. I agree with the MDR but we stuck it out-table of 10 solos so it was our time to catch up on the day and upcoming evening plans. We had a head waiter practically babysitting us by the end of the week with all of our complaints. We should have had him pull up a chair and eat with us so he could have a better understanding of the complaints. It amazed me that the food quality and temperature didn’t improve with our babysitter.
  4. I recommend reading the boards here. as for dining, when you booked your cruise you should have been given options as to early dining (begins anywhere from 5/5:30 depending on the ship, late dining (begins 7:30-8:00 depending on the ship) or MTD (my time dealing). Of course by next year there could be changes to the options.
  5. Eeew. Glad I don’t eat the beef in the MDR, but if there’s a low grade (No grade) chicken cutlet that would explain things.
  6. I was on the “Ben and David sailing”. I can attest what they said was factual. I’ve also sailed monthly since the restart and will say not every sailing could compare to that-thank God. On some ships there has been food I felt was not edible like that chicken parm in Ben and Dave video, or have had food served cold/barely warm. Obviously I’ve not ordered every dish so I can’t speak to all meals on the ship. Some sailings its multiple meals that aren’t so great. Some sailings it’s most all, if not all meals that have been good. Service has been hit or miss on some sailings. It’s not every sailing with inedible food, cold food, or bad service. Hopefully your sailing will have few or no issues in the MDR. I’m on Oasis next week, last August their food was fantastic, fingers crossed it’s as good this time around.
  7. I was on the “Ben and David sailing”. I had the 5:30 seating. My agreement to their review is above. Seating time had nothing yo do with cold food. side note: Symphony was one of the first ships with the new menus, prior to this sailing, so it’s not a “menu is new” problem either.
  8. I was on this sailing. I’ve been cruising monthly since the restart. The food was abysmal. When I started watching their video I was shocked they said they had hot food, I was quite jealous. Then, it quickly turned for them to the experience my table of 10 had from the get go. yes, we had the head waiter at our table nightly. Towards the end of the cruise they served unlimited champagne nightly and sent the D+ people chocolate covered strawberries and chocolates to our cabins. I had that horrid chicken parm. Well I didn’t eat it….they were only a table if 2. We had many people order the same plate of food and one was perfectly fine(just warm) and the next cold. One was over salted and the next fine. One chicken parm fine, mine inedible. Chicken Marsala needed a steak knife to cut it….and it was like that on my next ship, so I was now afraid to order it on my recent sailing on enchantment but the waiter assured me it would be soft, and it was but it was super salty. That stale bread, probably leftover from my Oasis sailing in May of 22, it was petrified then, for most of the week in fact despite asking for fresh bread. The tiramisu, I laughed out loud when I saw that, as we had one at our table with even more cocoa and the other barely had a smidgen. the only hot meal anyone had all week was French onion soup or the pot pie. so say what you will, the video was spot on for that sailing. Other ship have had their issues. one thing they mentioned was the waitstaff didn’t ask if the meal was ok or if they could get something else for them. Same for us and this just recently occurred on my last sailing. The waitstaff did not come around and ask about the meal, nor offer an alternative if something was uneaten, but they sure remembered to ask for a high rating. what about the rest of my sailings, some spot in, others where I’d die of thirst waiting on water and no refill of it either, without having to gain the attention of one of the staff. This last sailing we all chuckled at our shared table of 8 where everyone was D+ and a Pinnacle, so plenty of sailings with Royal and the service was not noteworthy that would mean clear the plates, serve what’s asked for (butter, sour cream, horseradish, etc), as well as refill water. The head waiter showed up day 3 -in fact we didn’t see an head waiter in the entire dining area on our deck the first 2 nights, , and around day5or 6 and then the final night. I thought perhaps Royal is cutting them out.
  9. @Matt @SpeedNoodles please stop this. It’s not a good look.
  10. How many days prior to your sailing did the entertainment open?
  11. Re: flight times and Air2sea not booking the earlier flights. I believe they do this to save the issue of possibly having to rebook a lot of passengers if the ship is delayed. So they give a cushion. I use their earliest flight as my guideline if booking elsewhere. seems to me you have some decisions to make. 1- ignore Air2sea timeline for flights and be prepared to fix things on your own and pay for it and still potentially get home later than you’d like 2- book using Air2sea guidelines -pay the price and someone may have to be tired at work check out how many seats are left in the plane-that May help you to figure out if prices will only confine to go up. I recall we flew in 2 days early for cruises out of Alaska and Puerto Rico because pricing worked out the same for the cost of the hotels for my family of 5 with the cheaper airfare than it was going to cost for the flights for day of or day before. It gave us more vacation at the same cost. Hopefully you’ll find something that works for you
  12. Yes, it does. call the casino Royale and ask them to put the OBC on. I’ve had this happen a few times. One time NC gave me lower than should have been OBC and the casino Royale actually caught that!
  13. A 3 month old next cruise reservation would have automatically lost its OBC. To keep the OBC you must book within 60 days of purchasing the reservation.
  14. Teens aren’t allowed to complete the drilll in the app…as they are underage. Go figure. at one point my daughter had a funny message about that from “legal”! I do believe you can mark them as done in the app.
  15. It’s referred to as the “white card” in the Club Royale Facebook group (not official group for club Royale) there is discussion that this card will be done away with. Who knows! On Anthem they told me to just tap my card at a machine my husband was going to play so I could do get his points. there’s always rumors that this is not permitted (yet the hosts offer this) enjoy getting one of you to signature!!
  16. We did not dock at midnight last month, the casino was still open.
  17. Both of our tier cruises were booked using a next cruise reservation #. Both show the OBC. Maybe I got in under the gun before club Royale said no. I actually had an extremely competent rep, and had one booking done and the other almost complete when I realized I forgot to give her my next cruise reservation numbers. She apologized to me for not asking if I had a NC reservation # and I kept apologizing to her because I felt it was my screw up in the first place. as far as “if you book a cruise at next cruise with the certificate you are fine”I’m not sure what that means. I’ve read that the Tier cert and inbox offers cannot be booked at next cruise. The onboard instant certificate can be booked at next cruise-or currently within 30 days of your sailing if you purchased the reservation while onboard the sailing the certificate was issued. Also inbox offers can be used with a Next cruise reservation #.
  18. They did it for me and my husband. it will be interesting to see if they undo it
  19. Personally I wouldn’t order it. There’s no telling if it will be in your cabin when you get there, if delivered while you are out to dinner. I do get the Diamond plus wine or champagne and any time that’s been delivered it was in ice with 2 glasses. they delivered cheese and fruit once, no idea what time but by the time I made it back to my cabin the wrapped Boursin cheese had separated-leaving liquid on the plate and there were no crackers, so useless all around. I like chilled chocolate covered strawberries. I was actually in my cabin for their delivery once and they weren’t even cold, so now I know they aren’t necessarily cold and just sit for hours before I get to them. It used to be the strawberries sat on a doily on the plate and I could just throw them in the cooler on the doily since the plate doesn’t fit but doilies seem to have gone by the wayside -also won’t work in interior cabins on older ships with no cooler!
  20. Thank you for that info. We are on Enchantment and messaging feature only worked day 1 and 2 then poof-it’s gone. Very frustrating.
  21. I did the your, we did not have a full day. on the ride over the guide on the bus said when we get off the bus to take the space center bus to the back of the property where “the good stuff is”. So we did exactly that. It was a good move because we saw all that then made our way back to the main section snd we chose what we would see based on our time left AND we were close to our bus so we didn’t have to worry about trying to catch it had we done the back of their property last. the big souvenir shop had a former astronaut signing autographs and taking pics. I believe it was no charge. Not on that.
  22. In the Facebook casino Royale group the UK residents were reporting being told their offers will start becoming available April 24.
  23. When I was on Grandeur in January the wings were inconsistent. My daughter ordered them and lived them. The next night we tried to order 2 orders of wings and 2 other entrees and we were told we could only get one entree each. We don’t do room service typically and I was not there when she was told this, or I would have argued wings were an appetizer. Anyhow that night they were not cooked the same and the sauce was not correct on them. your experience may differ based on what others are saying.
