  1. The price of Chops in the planner is usually what they are selling onboard the first night, at least that was my experience. Unless you are talking Chops lunch, that is a good deal in CP.
  2. Yes, they usually do French night as the formal night. This is based on two cruises since the menus have come into play.
  3. The problem...to me....is that you cannot access this perk with a prepaid package. What if I wanted to use my free day(s) on another device? It is literally a hassle to try and do without the help of a VOOM specialist.
  4. It worked to notify me, but not my brother on Oasis Jan 15-22. Mine even showed up as notifications on my home screen. Both of us using VOOM.
  5. @WAAAYTOOO The sewage smell on Grandeur came the evening after KW, which was the second day. Also, the tables were a madhouse every night I went to the casino. Which is rare form as they weren't ever full on any of my other sailings. I agree the shrimp cocktail was very fresh, I sent another app back and got another cocktail the last time. Lots of B2B on Grandeur with Casino comps because she is 5/9 nights.
  6. The price should have locked in for the third person. I recently add a fourth person to a room that held 4 but only had three booked. She was charged the same fare as the third person and no reprice was triggered. I also only paid $100 as a deposit because it was booked through Next Cruise. Take this with a bit of caution. I was within my 60 days to make changes and such without fees and penalties.
  7. Yes, it is. I should have clarified that it is Giovanni's Table that is bad. I had the Giovanni's IK experience on Odyssey and the meatball Gigante is worth it alone.
  8. Allure now has El Loco Fresh, which will be tacos and burritos. Usually, the Italian restaurant is open, in Allure's case that is Giovanni's, this is a paid option. Park Cafe will also be an option.
  9. I found Giovanni's to be the worst of specialty restaurants and canceled my reservation on another ship after eating at it on Oasis. To be honest, neither Giovanni's or the MDR made decent pasta. Jamie's pasta at least taste good. I find the MDR to be meh. However I am a picky eater so I would rather pay specialty restaurant pricing if that means I get what I want. The MDR cooks for the masses, so I found the food to be bland and lacking. It's personal taste: the buffet and dining room could be amazing to one person who couldn't imagine paying extra, while someone like me can't survive without specialty restaurants.
  10. No any diamond or C&A perks need to be purchased onboard. The cruise planner price is a discount and you can't use both. I found it wasn't worth it to do as diamond because it was basic VOOM. Now that it's the stream option. It might be worth it. You can ask the VOOM person to use your one day on a second device.
  11. The hash browns are smaller as well as they break easier. I just chalked it up to supply issues.
  12. Any cruise package with internet from a cellular provider is not going to be productive on a ship. You will spend the few mbps offered just checking one email and then either have to pay exorbitantly for the next days of the cruise or go without. VOOM imho is always better and cheaper than any cell plan if you need internet.
  13. They are sailing on Radiance, only Quantum and Oasis class have internet included with Sky class and above.
  14. I did a B2B on Navigator this past September, never smelled any sewage but Schooner being right by the casino was a big problem. People would literally stand right there to smoke. I liked the DL though, I would go and read when everything was too congested, the DL concierge was so friendly.
  15. There is a section for suites, might not be the best section. If shows require reservations you scan your seapass. They most likely will have reservations for Mamma Mia, Aqua aria, ice show and late night comedy.
  16. I just got off a cruise. Booked two at Next cruise and even with the "sale" they have gone up a couple of hundred in less than a week.
  17. Freedom would be my bet, but Indy is also good. I found that Freedom feels a bit newer, and they have a really good ice show, plus a Playamakers.
  18. I am on the opposite spectrum, when it comes to ships like Grandeur. She is a beautiful girl, but she has issues. If you primarily sail larger ships and have children, a ship like Grandeur might not really be for you. Less people but less activities, fewer bars, and everything is primarily held in the Centrum. There are smaller ships like Freedom and Independence that will give you a smaller ship feel, without feeling small.
  19. I had done this on my Grandeur Jan 22-27th sailing. It was a five night so cannot attest to the lobster. The first night I ordered two apps and one entree. They brought out one app then the other after I finished, then my entree. The portions were small so the second night I ordered one app and two entrees. They brought the first entree and then when I was close to done, they brought the other. The third night was Mexican night and I wanted to try a couple of apps and two entrees; apps all separate. But my waiter asked if I wanted the entrees together, so she brought them out within five minutes of each other. Since she was my dedicated server, she would bring my apps still separate but entrees together for remainder of the cruise. They do this to ensure the food is still hot, but you can ask for all of it to be brought together.
  20. It will but he will have to check the app as soon as he returns.
  21. I used it on Oasis in Jan, my notifications would work, and I would see when I got a message. Not the same for my brother, he had to go in the app to see the message. No rhyme or reason as to why some people get it and some don't. It is still cool enough to be able to communicate if you don't want to get an internet package.
  22. They no longer have an actually happy hour with those free drinks. They now give you 4 vouchers for drinks each day of the cruise to be used anywhere. The new happy hour is just snacks.
  23. You still need to reserve for the shows. The reserved areas for the Key will most likely be in the balcony in the middle. That's where it was in November on Harmony. You will be escorted there after they scan your card for the reservation.
