Oh.....and maybe this is to hide the fact the gratuities are going up as well....seems to be lost in the uproar about the room service.....smart on their part I guess but just another negative mark on RCI as far as I am concerned. Disappointed with this news to say the least.

I wouldn't mind as much a 2 tired menu then...some complimentary and others that you pay for sure... But now NO options....

So full charge for room service for anything but breakfast. And doubling the cost of it as well. Anyone else hear about this and happy about it?!.... Is it just me or is Royal really going down a path to differentiate themselves from the other cruise lines....for what I would consider all the wrong reasons??!

Wow...that's rare.....and almost impossible!.....Glad you made it work somehow for you. You must have either paid a lot for the inside to start and/or they have really dropped the balcony prices for some reason.

Oh to live within driving distance of a port, the cruises I would do!!

Sorry to hear that. That is pretty short notice. Not to mention that on a short cruise, missing that first afternoon is very disappointing and would make the cruise feel much shorter imho.

Not sure if I can think of any other travel/tourist/vacation company or type that can do this or that normally does this? Weather of course can change things....but basically, if they get a "better" deal ie.charter...they can cancel/displace 5000 other people that have already booked and made plans etc.... I am surprised that not a bigger deal is made of these things. That being said, I would in most cases prefer to know about these charter's as most of them would not appeal to me and my only experience with a charter is that it changed the whole vibe of the ship and the cruise and not in a good way.

That's crazy...I would be a bunch of things to say the least. Especially when booking that kind of room and with another cpl and planning out vacations and airfare's etc......My travel agent nor RCI would be enjoying the phone calls they would be getting from me. Is it just Royal that does this or all the cruise companies?

Not upset and your experience is your experience....... Just was very opposite of my experience multiple times on that ship, so I was surprised.

Yeah, it was a 5 nighter....the first night I never hit the MDR, as I am having too much fun on the pool deck with drinks. Then the 2 days we were in port it was too rushed. Also, have a 5:30 time was a little too early for me...6:30 is perfect.....the 8pm is too late for me so it just didn't work out. But I never went hungry and we both commented that the food was mazing in the WJ....had to stop ourselves from overeating there!

On my cruise on Navigator....we only ate in the Windjammer for supper's.....crazy I know, never even made it to the MDR once on our cruise. I would have liked to at least once, but I can tell you that the food in the Windjammer for supper was great......and the Indian selection was good every night and tasted amazing! I never missed the MDR for the food, just the experience.

Still looking at doing this, but prices seem high for April and May when I looked...maybe in the fall during hurricane season I can find a deal!..ha But I LOVE the idea of the ship as a floating hotel for a night or two while I can explore on my own...... Once I get something booked, I know I will be full of questions!

Wow...I must be really missing out on what other cruise lines offer, as I have done Enchantment many times and never bored. But then again....I am not a fussy eater, drink, and hang by the pool and hit the bar/clubs at night so I guess that makes a difference. Cpl of things I will mention.....if you don't like playing Lounger Lotto...just go up one deck where there are lots if chairs. Also, I think Enchantment has about 2400 guests and you say you like mid-size starting around 2500...well that is pretty close. Never have a problem finding a game in the casino on any cruise on her so far. My experience was the same at Key West and having to do Customs..and that was when Obama was president, so can't blame the line up on Trump this time..lol Missing out on Coco Cay was a mistake. It wasn't that bad if they were doing the tender's. I usually complain when the stop them for the slightest winds or waves.....so if they had them going, it had to be pretty smooth sailing. I have stayed in smaller rooms with no issues....with both friends as well as a significant other(on different cruises of course..lol) and while the rooms are small, we hardly spend anytime in them. I don't cruise to sit in my room and look out a window, when I can actually be outside enjoying it! I admit, the TV options has always left something to be desired. If you spent a lot of time in your room cause you didn't feel good, well that would defn damper your perspective on the ship/experience/cruise. At the end of the day, its your opinion and experience.....but the way you make it sound, makes me wonder just how amazing other cruise lines must be compared to Royal!

Two that I look at often are Vacationstogo as well as Crucon.....but their are lots out there..even priceline has better deals than booking with RCI.

yeah..its in April of 2017 so past the final pyt date, hence my dilemma.......otherwise I would book. Seems like no one has heard or seen what the next promo is, which is strange. I cant imagine they would have no sale/promo ready to go?

I am ready to book an April cheap cruise. I lost out on the one I wanted, so I don't want to wait much longer. The 60% off sale ends tonight....just trying to decide if I should pull the trigger or take a chance that the new promo tomorrow may offer OBC of some kind. Anyone seen or heard what the new sale will be starting tmrw when this one ends?

No..you can book on MANY different sites....each may offer better pricing or perks. I learned that the hard way..after MANY cruises with RCI and paying full price on their own site with little or no OBC, and then talking to ppl who paid way less and had more perks I caught on. Haven't booked with them since. The final straw was no longer giving us 24hrs to hold something while I tried to make arrangements with work and flights etc before committing to the cruise. Once they did away with that , there was NO advantage left in my mind to booking with them.

So will there be one for each pool on board....so 2-3 lifeguards now on every cruise ship? if so, that has got to have some cost to it?!

Sounds about right based on a lot of people's experiences with the booking engine on RCI.... I haven't booked a cruise on there since they took away the free 24hr holds they used to offer. Too many other sites out there that work better and offer better perks and price's......

Only place to get Cuban currency is in Cuba.....no matter what country you are from. You will find that American is accepted at a lot of places these days, but still somewhat limited(as are USA credit cards I believe still)

No..it was scheduled maintenance.....people that were travelling on this cruise knew a few weeks in advance that there would be a delay

That's a huge upgrade to get!.. I wouldn't be complaining or worrying about it! You don't need to worry about cigarette smoke in your room and I am not sure what you mean by safety.

I have done mostly inside, cpl times ocean view and the last time had a virtual balcony. I have to tell you, it really looks and feels like looking out a door/window! Person I travelled with was very apprehensive about having an inside room, but she couldn't get over how real it felt.....from the sound to the views etc. It's defn an option I would suggest ppl check out as these rooms aren't usually much more than an inside room.

I am old school...using a Blackberry and there is no app available for me. So only way to play on phone will be logged into my facebook account.....wont be an issue I am sure? if anything, maybe easier to keep track and add up the points quicker?!

No jade on Navigator. But they did have it on Indy......not sure which have it and which don't. But with the "Jade" station in the buffet, there is a lot more to choose form Asian and Indian food than without it for sure.
