  1. Oh that would be great if you have the time, thank you!
  2. Great question @FManke Our first cruise had Seattle's Best, glad to hear they still have it, although Illy sounds good too. Would anyone know if they have decaf on board? TIA (thanks in advance)
  3. Thanks so much. I read that review and saw the lockers, but wasn't quite sure about the actual locks, even with my on ...? Amazing, thank you. Pictures were so crisp and clear! Loved reading that review. I did see the plastic cups, but I didn't see any lids or straws ...
  4. Welcome! I'm new too! Perhaps a newbie could give you some insight since I was in the same boat (lol) when we first cruised in 2011. You're in Florida, so you're already ahead of the game! No airfare to worry about. I totally agree with @JLMoran - lists on either Word or Excel are amazing and I use excel for everything, including my daily agenda when I'm on on a cruise. Some questions that come to my mind: Who is going on this cruise? Adults, Seniors, children, anyone with disabilities or would require special equipment, needs - just some things to keep in mind for when you have to book cabins or excursions What ages/age group are the cruisers? Some cruise lines cater more to a younger crowd, an older crowd, etc. Do you want casual/free-style type cruising? What is your budget? Do you prefer a short cruise (few days), a week, or longer? What month/s can your cruise? What ports do you like? Do you want to visit Alaska, the Caribbean, Europe, Asia ... Do you prefer a ginormous ship like Royal Caribbean's Oasis class, or smaller ships? Does anyone have motion sickness? (I do and never thought in a million years I would go on a cruise, but I did, and I'm going again, and again. I just take meds, and book cabins that are mid-ship and mid-level decks, not too low, not too high This should be a good start. I hope it helps. BTW, the Royal Caribbean website (and other cruise lines) has user friendly interfaces, if you haven't been on them already. You just input your criteria, and it will populate some cruises for you. Or, you could also visit a travel agent. Oh, one more thing, if you want to cruise in 2020, don't wait too long. We just decided in late July to book another cruise, and there were only a handful of cabins (the ones we wanted) left. Also, the price went up by over $500 in 24 hours! LOVE excel ?
  5. OMG, that's awful. What did your husband think? I wonder if the other person received his birthday cake instead of their anniversary cake, or they just got in wrong all together ? Was the cake in a box or under a covered tray? Can you tell me what flavor the cake was (options), and how it tasted? I would love to see a picture if you have one. TIA (thanks in advance)
  6. I was looking for one as well - thank you for the link. We have one at our local Walmart for about $18 (Canadian) Here is the one from Amazon.ca 24 pockets - different sizes for about $10 For a few cents more, I can get the one with large pockets. Can you advise what yours holds at most (height wise), the pictures are not very helpful, as the shoes seem to be kid sized? I haven't gathered my items yet (too far out), but I am placing an order very soon for other items (so I will get free shipping) When you said air it out, do you mean that awful plastic smell? TIA (thanks in advance)
  7. Thank you Andy for an amazing review! We'll be at CocoCay in Feb 2020! Were there plastic cups and lids available for the complimentary drinks? Did you notice what types of complimentary drinks were available (like water, iced tea ...)? Were the birds a problem at any of the other complimentary food venues, or just Chill Grill? Do we need to bring out own locks for the lockers?
  8. Aww, go easy on me ... ? Thanks for the heads up btw ??
  9. We're not flying international, but I second @AshleyDillo - Google Flights is amazing and very user friendly. We're in Canada and have specific dates and times, so not much flexible, and we prefer to fly out of our home town rather than drive across the border where it's cheaper. Our flights with taxes to MCO are currently $725.00 per person, but our cruise isn't until Feb 2020, so I have I have alerts set and a cut off date to book. @Qaylun - love your avatar (Raptors fan too) - that's pricey tickets to Miami! I never heard of Air Canada Rouge - must check it out!
  10. Wow, so they still have it. I'll be sure to look for it, thanks!
  11. Hello everyone, I was a very long time member of another cruise forum, and I'm so glad I found this one. The members are VERY helpful and respectful - thank you all so much, and the vibe is completely different, very easygoing without the sarcasm and drama ? I also love that you can message members here, and edit your posts outside of the 30 minute mark. For new members, you will see your status as pre-gold, just a fun and cute feature of these message boards. I'm not sure how it works, but it will change very quickly! Our moderator @Lovetocruise2002 has been so warm and welcoming! and thank you @Matt, our administrator for an amazing place to share information ? This time around, I'm having a lot more fun planning my cruise!!!
  12. Welcome @WedNoMor! I joined last week, and I have to tell you, I LOVE it here.
  13. Does anyone remember the infamous sugar-free coconut cake? OMG! It was amazing. I don't see it on the menus anymore ... ?
  14. 9 pm? Why did hubby think he could sneak another go into the WJ after a show? ? Your hubby sounds as silly (and lovable) as mine. I think mine would make me wait in the lineup while he went to the WJ ... wait, I'm the dessert lover, that might be me ? I'm going to have to time how long it takes to get to the WJ ?
  15. Yes, all the walking, going to bed late and getting up super early! Oasis was a ginormous ship! I know some people prefer to wing it, or take it easy, but for us, we prefer to plan our days, especially since we don't get to vacation as often as we'd like. This is 9 years of waiting to cruise again!
  16. That's good to know! Our specialty dining for 2 is courtesy of our TA. I believe they have Jamie's instead of Giovanni's on Harmony, although I did hear Giovanni's is much better. I didn't know we can book any restaurant at any specialty dining restaurant! Thank you for pointing that out. I thought if we don't get lucky at Chops, we'd walk over to another one, but not necessary now! You've been very helpful ? Thank you! Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that, what a disappointment for you! We can't book in advance since it's a free dinner for 2. I mentioned above that we got lucky on Day 1 because we went straight to Chops as soon as we boarded, and plan to do the same this time. Which specialty dining are you interested in? Good luck!
  17. LOL, he likes the stuff, just doesn't want it bulging out of his pockets ... I get it! There are times when there is no soap/water around, but yes, soap and water is normally all you need, unless you have a weak immune system, and then it's a necessity imo ?
  18. Now I'll definitely have to go to the WJ on embarkation day to take a look!
  19. OMG!!!! That is ??? perfect! I must tell hubby this! But, we're usually running to line up for a show right after dinner (to get good seats, even with a reservation). Might have to wait until after the show ... then my stomach will have settled in for the second round (I do have a separate stomach for desserts though) ?
  20. That's exactly what I was thinking! Great minds think a like! So nice to find someone who shares my passion for food and photography! And there are so many here on the forums - YEA! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE taking food pictures and we always show up early (whenever we eat out) to take pictures before the food is touched, and also to avoid taking pictures of people. I'm a huge advocate of protecting people's privacy, and I always blur them out if I can't avoid them in shots. We may have to go to WJ first before our planned trip to to Park Cafe this time around ? Thanks for the tip and reminder!!! ?
  21. My hubby says all days ? I don't know how he expects me to eat in the MDR, then visit the Windjammer ? I don't have the same appetite as our last cruise, when we were a lot younger ?
  22. @mom2mybugs - what a nice cake! Do you know if they have this for all sailings, or just the smaller ships? Is in on embarkation day? @AJK - I'll be patiently waiting ? @bhageerah - OMG, I saw this picture on another forum, but yours is very crisp and clear. It's like it's right in front of me! How was the cheesecake? Was it the firm NY style or creamy type? @TJ! - I keep saying I'm going to start my diet next week. I'm sure you will have a fantastic time! When we went on our first cruise (Oasis), we planned too much because we wanted to see everything! I had our daily agenda on an excel spreadsheet! Yeah, don't judge ? We had a great time, but we didn't have any down time at all, and we were completely exhausted and sleep deprived! We ate so much food, but you know what? We lost weight!!!
  23. Thanks for sharing your experience regarding the Navigator. We'll be on Harmony ? Oh wow, I thought a lot of seasoned cruisers would book the specialty restaurants (from all the reviews I've been reading). I don't think we can book online because we have a "dinner for 2" from our TA. If I booked online, I would be charged, and I think it would be a nightmare to try and fix it later ... We'll go the restaurant of our choice on embarkation day and keep our fingers crossed (I'll have to come up with an alternate date just in case ?) Thanks for responding!
  24. LOL, my hubby keeps "forgetting" our hand sanitizer, so I'm the automatic dispenser ? My purse is ready for any kind of emergency ?
  25. I know this is an older post, but wanted to thank @davelliott for sharing them. That is very odd and frustrating the TV monitors messed up the dates of the menus though. Hope they have it resolved by now (more than 2 years later) ?
