  1. This is almost exactly when we did that itinerary. We definitely miss it. Strongly second the transit pass suggestion. We beat the crowds to Horseshoe Bay by taking the pink bus and went to St. John's from the Royal Naval Dockyard on the ferry on our own schedule and for way less than any planned excursion. Quick and easy way to get around and interact with (and get suggestions from!) locals!
  2. Cruisetimetables.com confirms not only that, but that Odyssey is scheduled to arrive three hours prior to Symphony.
  3. While both are true, it's much more the distance factor. Bermuda is way out on its own in the Atlantic; many cruises that go there are just to Bermuda and back. One of my favorite cruises out there was on Empress, when we got to do one night at the Naval Shipyard and two nights in Hamilton. The one day we got off the ship in the morning at the shipyard, went on a bike tour and ate some lunch, then boarded the ship in Hamilton! Being in port overnight for so long really changed the whole feel of the trip, we even saw some of the crew at one of the local bars in Hamilton one night!
  4. "Style" is the kiss of death. Grew up right outside of Philly, and am here to tell you that while every "Philadelphia-style Cheesesteak" and "Philly-style soft pretzel" may be an homage to the real deal, they pale in comparison!
  5. My hatred for LGA is well known. An airline would pretty much have to pay me to fly in/out of there. EWR far and away the best choice to Bayonne, with JFK, PHL and even TTN on Frontier in a pinch as my fallbacks.
  6. Or some.... "industrious" shipmates.
  7. I may be misremembering things, but I thought RCI had a similar program back in the late 90s/early 00s? It wasn't through Priceline of course, but you could book your hotel straight through the cruise line if you were staying the night (or several nights) before your cruise. They checked you in for the cruise in the hotel lobby, you loaded your baggage on a bus, and the next time you saw it was on the ship. You were led into the cruise terminal and straight through to security. I am 99% sure I did this on my 1st cruise out of Port Canaveral?
  8. Do you happen to have a GTY cabin? While that wouldn't necessarily cause the Set Sail pass to appear blank, it is an extra variable, and we all know how well Royal IT deals with those...
  9. On a 14 day cruise, the walk-in closet alone may be worth the upgrade!
  10. I don't know, playing live-action Frogger with the trams seems to have a bit of a built-in thrill factor...
  11. Not sure what's going on, but I'm in the same boat for my July cruise...
  12. It's definitely not unheard of. Recently they've been much better at processing refunds more quickly, but last month I repriced a shore excursion and it took a little over a month for it show up.
  13. These are the same ones I use. Highly recommend.
  14. While we're on the topic, where exactly are they? I get that there's quite a few, but are they actually near the pools on deck 15? A deck up? Some on both decks?
  15. May I ask why the change? Is the Windjammer less congested/easier to get through now? MDR less pleasant? Just easier to get off quicker? Sorry to be nosey, I'm just curious!
  16. When you make the reservation, you should only put one person in your party on the reservation. Otherwise, you're booking two beds. It's not terribly clear in the instructions, but that's the system!
  17. If you're trying to be environmentally friendly but not suffer through the awfulness of paper straws, these are surprisingly good, small enough to pack easily, and cheap enough that you can easily just throw them away when done. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07NBXYCGZ/?coliid=I2CJKA2GTD4JB3&colid=27FAG42S5W2OK&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it
  18. As an additional potential revenue stream, I would definitely pay for a ticket to watch this auction happen.
  19. Amtrak Northeast Regional trains will actually stop at Newark Liberty Airport (EWR) as well, which is just a bit closer to Cape Liberty and prevents you from having to drive through downtown Newark. Your Amtrak ticket also covers the cost of the AirTrain Monorail to the terminals. I'm not sure if it's a much better option, just a different one!
