  1. Yes, it looks like we have to pay the $40pp regardless of whether we get off the ship or not. OK, I guess we have no choice. I will apply for the authorization. Unfortunately, the form is quite detailed and must be done for both of us... Boo Hoo... more paperwork!
  2. @twangster Vacations To Go is telling our friends to fill out the form within 30 days (today we are at 29) of sailing, but my agency Best Price Cruises didn't tell me anything. Also, I am surprised that Royal has not notified us in any way yet (I guess there is still time). I think I will bypass my agent as I talked to her yesterday and call RCCL directly to see it I can learn anything more. I do wonder if the $40 has been paid by RCCL directly on our behalf. Yes, required for every cruiser except for 2 and under. See my second link. It is also different if Bermuda is the first stop on the Cruise (which it will be).
  3. Does anyone know if I have a RCCL excursion booked if I still need to fill out the Bermuda Travel Authorisation and pay the $40pp? https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/additional-requirements-to-cruise-to-bermuda https://www.gov.bm/cruise-travel-authorisation
  4. My experience is that MTD may or may not be faster than traditional. But I would also say that overall our experience has been that traditional on average is the slowest. Last week we had our first CK experience and for us it was way faster than traditional, MTD and speciality restaurants!
  5. @twangster Agree! We were just trying to figure out how @BrianB was able to do it. Hence the mock demo (including my muck up)...
  6. third on cubes and magnetic hooks... ...and don't forget your fun door magnets!
  7. @Peter D True, there may be a difference between the new & old CP. But I thought in the past I had the same issue with the old CP. The example above is of course using the new Cruise Planner. Interesting...
  8. For our Adventure cruise next month I had booked "Plane Spotting at Maho Beach" on the 2021 Black Friday sale. When I try to book it today I cannot. I can select our names, but cannot "Add to cart". It is greyed out.
  9. Is it just me, or do all those pins look the same? Maybe I am getting old. Seriously, I wonder if the crew can tell the difference between them and how close to you do they need to be to discern them...
  10. To be clear, how did you do it? Did you book the 2nd under another name and then cancel the 1st? Like others have said and my experience has been, you cannot book the same cruise planner item using the same account.
  11. So I think putting them on a hat is an OK idea. I really wonder about those people earlier in this blog who say they are constantly putting them on and taking them off. Seems like too much work for lazy me.
  12. Yeah, those pins should be available if you don't have one but want one for some reason. You can find all of them for sale on eBay if you don't mind spending the money - . Here is a RCB discussing the emerald pin:
  13. Ditto! Tommy James plays the Stadium Theatre almost annually. He still has very good sounding vocals and his guitar playing is awesome! Sorry @CrimsonCruiser!
  14. My guess is 3 or 4 120V outlets and 2 USB outlets.
  15. Last week we went to CK for dinner at 5:30 for all 7 nights. We had the same waiter each night and tipped him on the last night of the cruise. It is what I saw most people doing as well. It worked fine.
  16. @jtown74 Welcome to the Royal Caribbean Blog! I am sure the crew have varying levels of jobs to do during an emergency and varying levels of triggers to begin doing those jobs. Like @BrianBwrote, I doubt those triggers to transition to their emergency duties include hearing the General Alarm only. Maybe for some, like an Emergency Response Team, but not all crew members. Checks and Balances are part of any thought out emergency plan. I was in the Solarium when the alarm went off on Friday afternoon. I left and did a few things as I headed for my room, all the while waiting for confirmation of a real emergency. And the confirmation of a false alarm came by the Captain's announcement before I left the 14th floor!
  17. Just got these pins last week. What do you all pin them on? A hat? I can't imagine putting them on and taking them off all of the time...
  18. @ChessE4 I love the positive attitude. I think many of us commenting to this thread could learn from you!
  19. Yeah, I did wonder for a brief moment if this could have been an actual drill involving passengers. The ship was about 3/5ths capacity and almost everyone in the Solarium at the time calmly got up and started to walk out. I was impressed. But I also agree to your point on some expanded training - like maybe an actual (limited passenger) drill - but with advanced notice/warning to prevent any mishaps.
  20. Not sure I understand the point. We experienced a false system (no known origin) General Alarm on the Anthem. What does that have to do with e-Muster? I suppose you could argue that any false alarm could devaluate that alarm in some way. Maybe that is what you mean?
  21. From my perspective, I thought the crew did a good job not aggravating the situation during the somewhat stressful few minutes - at least until the captain had time to evaluate the situation and make his announcement.
  22. Also, for the record, no crew member ever instructed me to go to my muster station while the false General Alarm was blasting.
