Keep in mind that you can find mimosas and bloody Mary's for $3 outside Windjammer in the mornings, and the casino bar will have them for $2 in the mornings sometimes. They will also offer a card for 10 drinks for $100 tip included. I also saw a commercial on the ship's info channel for a similar card for beer There's also liquor tastings for free or nominal charge. For me paying ala carte and taking advantage of these specials worked better

FYI. If you have Sprint you may have international roaming included so you won't get billed for text and data while in port.

While Adventure of the Seas doesn't currently have onboard communication through the RC app, I would hope by 2020 it would. You wouldn't need Voom just to communicate via text if that's the case Another option is you can probably buy a cell plan with your provider for service while at sea. I have Sprint and they offer data plans onboard the ship while at sea.
