  1. Thanks so much! I may have to pack an extra-tropical dress just in case!
  2. How did you know to pack 20's themed attire pre-cruise? I have this same question for other themed nights in the MDR - I have seen a tropical shirt night and an all white clothing night, do they let you know ahead of time?
  3. Thanks so much! Thinking I am going to hold out and see what's up once on board... having to go by their available timing won't really be an issue as I've got my MTD scheduled all over the place as it is.
  4. I have read a few times here that Royal will try and drum up business for its specialty restaurants while you're on board and offer discounts to get you in the door. I am looking at Sabor for 1 night (on Freedom) and it's currently priced at $25pp. As a native San Diegan, $50 for a 2 person Mexican meal seems very steep.. sure, I could spend that much for one meal in SD but for that price it would've included at least 4 margaritas. I suppose with my DBP that our margaritas would be covered but as they're not technically factoring in to the $50 meal price I am questioning purchasing. How often will Royal advertise specialty discounts once on board? Is $25 the lowest I am likely to see for Sabor?
  5. Love this! I have a collection of the first 5 nights of MDR menus that I sourced by scouring for them in live blogs. Does anyone know, for a 7-night sailing is it just these 5 and then it rotates back to the first 2? Or am I missing 2?
  6. Wow! haha it's only 10:20am and I have had about 45 ounces already. Give your body that delicious H20, Monctonguy!
  7. Loved this, thank you!! I'm going to be embarking from SJ in August but the ship doesn't leave till 8:30p and I am so glad to have seen this side of El Morro in the light of day!
  8. Haha, I should've known that you can't always trust the RC cruise planner! Thanks so much.
  9. I have a related MTD dining question for embarkation day; I reserved a 5:45 MTD but on every Cruise Compass I have seen, the San Juan muster is at 5:45p for a departure at 8:30p. Would they let me schedule dinner if it were during muster?
  10. Thanks to this comment I have 4 RCL-sized luggage tag holders on their way from Amazon! Never would've thought of that. ? Thank you!
  11. Actually I found it because I was more interested in visiting Labadee so I would let a page with Caribbean destinations load then use Command+F to find Labadee! Way easier this way since less sailings are going there than to Coco Cay
  12. https://secure.royalcaribbean.com/cruises/itinerary/7-night-eastern-caribbean-perfect-day-from-miami-on-symphony/SY07MIA-2712720663?sail-date=2021-04-17&currency=USD&wuc=USA&dates_maxDate=09%2F30%2F2020&dates_minDate=08%2F01%2F2020 Found it!
  13. I saw this when I was searching for August/Sep 2020 recently!! Only ONE sailing.. I thiink it was on an OA ship but I don’t remember exactly.
  14. Yes, we will both have it! Forgot that of course I would need to present his seapass card to receive 2 drinks. Thanks so much.
  15. Where do you access this location screen? On the cabin tv or located around the ship? I love this feature on planes so much that I keep it up constantly during the flight.
  16. Aw, rats. Do you think I could get a cocktail and 2 bottles of water on one drink package transaction? My cruising companion drinks just as much water as I do.
  17. Hooray, this is such good news! I was hoping this would be the case.
  18. I am sailing Freedom in August and purchased the DBP for my boyfriend and I for $44pp/pd. I am a HEAVY water drinker as well as a fairly heavy drinker when it comes to vacation. On a regular day I drink around 96 ounces of water which only goes up when in the sun and drinking cocktails all day! I can easily drink 5-6 cocktails a day to make my break-even price but will be needing upwards of 120 ounces of water a day to try and battle my dehydration. How does getting water work while on board? I have heard to ask the bartender for a bottle with each cocktail but how many will they conceivably let me have per day and do they offer any size of bottle larger than a lil 12 oz'er? I will be bringing my Hydroflask of course, but I hate to think of all the waste of those plastic bottles since I could be drinking 10 of them a day. I am not a bottled water snob by any means (San Diego county tap water tastes great to me!) so how do people who haven't purchased a drink package get water? Are there filling stations for bottles like you find in an airport? I LOVE THOSE. SOS! As a strictly water and liquor drinker I need to know the other half of my beverage choices is also easily obtainable. Thanks for any thoughts! ?
  19. Love this one! I already had them on my extensive packing list for my sailing in August. I also love to travel to beaches with beach gear so you're set even without a cabana, chair or towel. I bring an old sheet for sitting on, pop-up beach tent for shade, my own quick-dry towel, oversize mesh bag and lots of supplies for beach cocktails - cooler bag, 2 reusable plastic bottles, insulated camelpak for water. I get thirsty on vacation!!
  20. I usually stay at the Hilton Caribe when in San Juan! We are staying there again this August on disembarkation day and I can't wait to see how it's all been renovated since I was last there, they JUST overhauled all the rooms and public spaces (opens May 17th). Gotta go for the oceanfront! ?
  21. Ohh, awesome! I booked directly but need to call to cancel and rebuy our DBP so I will let them know then, too. Thanks so much!!
