  1. Basically it's a 'watch-thing' that replaces the need to carry your card around https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/questions/what-wow-band
  2. Will have our first experience with the WOW bands in about 40 days on Anthem. I heard that they are the same color as what other passengers can get and if you are in a SC suite, some places might not realize you're SC. Thus, might need to bring the SC card. Our last SC card in 2017 was black, so the staff would know when it is was presented.
  3. Also could depend what level your C&A is or if you are staying in a suite class. Those might allow you to gain a little earlier access to the boat. Once on board, you might just want to go wander around or find something to eat/drink until you get access to your room. Otherwise, like @deep1 state above, you could be in for a long sit. Bring a book just in case. ?
  4. What family legal documents do I need to board a Royal Caribbean cruise ship? Should the last names of the parent and minor child traveling with them differ, the parent is required to present the child's valid passport and visa (if required) and the child's birth certificate (original, a notarized copy or a certified copy). The name of the parent(s) and the child must be linked through legal documentation. Adults who are not the parent or Legal Guardian of any minor child traveling with them are required to present the child's valid passport and visa or the child's birth certificate (original, a notarized copy or a certified copy) and an original notarized letter signed by at least one of the child's parents. The notarized letter from the child's parent must authorize the traveling adult to take the child on the specific cruise, must authorize guardian to sign legal documentation/waivers for participation in any activities requiring them (i.e. Rock Climbing, Flowrider, Bungee Trampoline, Inline Skating, or Ice Skating) and must authorize the traveling adult to supervise the child and permit any medical treatment that must be administered to the child. If a non-parent adult is a Legal Guardian, the adult must present a certified certificate of Guardianship with respect to the child. Found it here: https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/what-family-legal-documents-do-i-need-to-board
  5. in theory, if you can have vacation time done by the 10th AND have a contact with Next or your TA - then you should be within you 30 day window. I would ask at Next to make sure that the current deal you sign up with (30% everyone or 50% second guest, etc) would still be in effect for those 30 days for when you lock in your date/ship/route
  6. Curious, would the Next booking be able to see dates farther out than what might be available on the main RCL site? I'm waiting on the May/Jun '21 dates to be released and have our cruise coming up Jun of this year - wondering IF they would have access to those dates if they aren't 'public' yet ...
  7. You should be able to put a deposit down on a future and then adjust it later once you nail down your dates. However, keep in mind that you could lose the current offer that might be available (your OBC or % off). We had already booked out 2020 cruise with a $200 OBC and 30% each guest (4 of us). Recently, we upgraded our room to the AT2BRLB and lost all of that because that promo wasn't available anymore and had to go with the current promo.
  8. In 2017, my family, sister-in-law and mother-in-law took the Oasis on the Easter C route. We have been on that route quite a few times. With two kids (10/12, at the time) we needed something cool for them to do, so we found the Loterie Farm Zipline adventure. We all had a blast. Well, shortly after our cruise the hurricane hit and we saw pictures of the damage, but also the renovations. We have our next cruise coming in in < 45 days now and have booked this experience again for just the four of us - no in-laws this cruise ?. Has anyone been on this excursion within the last few weeks / months? Had ya'll done it before?
  9. My dad usually stays at the Embassy Suites by Hilton on A1A, and we stayed at the Holiday Inn Express on A1A. We like that location because there's a Starbucks almost across the street ? Both had decent breakfasts, but Embassy had some kinda little 5-8 happy hour. We could snack enough there to be good for dinner. You can also get an Uber or something to hit the beach or go somewhere. We have looked at the BW mentioned by @FionaMG, but wanted to be a little closer to the cruise port (#cough Starbucks #cough).
  10. I had used my dad's TA for almost 10 years, but started realizing their benefits had diminished (like any OBC or other perks they give) They price they quoted was the exact same as we could get online. Thus, we found a new TA that is local to us. I've already had her upgrade our next cruise, reprice and even add some casino stuff all within just a few days with no problem. A good TA will be able to reprice without any hesitation
  11. St Maarten has a nice beach that you can swim / snorkel on that is right on the main shop-drag. The ship will dock a little ways away, but there is a shuttle ferry you can get on or you can walk. St. Thomas, don't recall a beach that close as we only did our walk around shopping there. on the left side, is the main drag where all the shops are - on the right side, just outside the frame is where the ships are docked. Behind me is the ferry dock that shuttles you to and from the boat dock. The beach on the other side of the ferry dock is similar to this one.
  12. Gratz on getting married - i'm assuming on board? ? If it's available to jump from sky to star with a bid, you would want to compare the price different on things thing you are going to pay extra for between the two classes. For 4 of us between sky and star, it was stuff like the dinning plan, voom, water bottle package and maybe one or two other things. That cuts the 'difference' between the two classes down some. I will warn you, IF you do the star class, you will be completely spoiled - lol. With star, you will get a genie that will take care of you and spoil you - which might not be a bad thing for your wedding.
  13. Um - lol - so, guess you 'stockup' on bacon during breakfast ? #LooksForBaconEmojii
  14. Have to agree with this - it's vacation, enjoy yourself because be you know it it'll be 365 days before your next cruise ? and you'll be counting down all over again. Also, be nice to the staff - cause, yeah, they might be slightly moody but remember there have probably been other not so nice to them.
  15. Best thing we do is always fly into port the day before our cruise and find a hotel close to the port with a shuttle transport. Less stressful for us, plus IF we forget something (#cough like undies) we can find us a store before getting on the boat the next day.
  16. Oh, just another 'rant'. If I'm signed in, you KNOW what freaking room I'm in and what comes with my room. HIDE packages that come with my room while I'm looking at other things. I mean, come on, I'm in a room that includes the deluxe beverage package - I don't need to see this when I'm in the cruise planner. Fine, show it to me BUT make it grey or bright yellow or something and 'Woot - you already get this one, don't buy it again'. #hmm musta made my coffee to strong this morning - lol #46DayToAnthem
  17. @Natalie22909, I agree. it would be nice to see the actual invoice. However, we have always used a TA with all of our reservations - I let them handle the 'logistics', I just tell them what room / boat / route and they do the rest and send me a detailed invoice. The other reason I use a TA is that I can book our cruises as far in advance as possible and then make monthly payments over, say 16 months. Never purchased a cruise directly through the RCL website, so don't know how that would work.
  18. @rjac, we are 46 days from our cruise on Anthem. Here's what I'm seeing in our cruise planner for entertainment/activities: * Day 3 is same as Day 2 * Spectra's Cabert is the only one for Day 6 * Day 8 is same as Day 7
  19. Anyone else wish that you could search for cruises on RCL's site by the type of room type or class? I would love to be able to, say click 'Owner's Loft' or 'AT 2BRLB' and get all the boats that have that room or even click one of the Classes and get the results filtered by all rooms in that class across all boats that offer it. Also, would also be nice if instead of popping up a message that states that room is no longer available, it would allow you to go to the next step to 'see' what the price would be or maybe even allow you to put your name in the 'hat' in case that room comes available? #shrug just thoughts from a former web designer - lol
  20. My understanding is that all guests in a room that allows access to the Coastal Kitchen will have it, regardless of other statuses. Access to the diamond lounge would requires individuals guests to be diamond or higher. But, I could be corrected ?
  21. @Lovetocruise2002, we did the coffee maker in the Coastal Kitchen and it was pretty good. I don't remember if there was soy milk available - but will definitely be checking on that soon.
  22. We haven't uploaded any photos yet during our online check in, seems like that is a new option. Guess I need to decide what pictures to upload for everyone.
  23. Great to hear! What time do they open? I'm guessing there would be something open 24/7? oh - just for fun - i may go up to those robot bartenders and ask for a specialty coffee lol
  24. Nice picture, this looks like the WJ, right?
