  1. I called daily since the cancel and only got my answer today... Worked out in the end but took some work on my end. Every time I don't get receipts, there is a mess... They not only didn't auto send but refued to send when I requested... Only yesterday did they get to me or even made...
  2. Nope... The receipts were generated yesterday only and not sent til ten minutes ago during my call to them... Quick and simple they had made a mistake by adding in protection plans that I didn't want or ever have and then applying twice to each person... Very thorough agent! Delighted to find one as complete as him!
  3. They gave me no FCC option, never sent a receipt or any acknowledgement... There were no 5 night Freedoms in the time slot for L+S..
  4. Didn't you see my thread Mariner Migraine? I screamed for 3+ weeks about no receipt and their refusal to send one... They still have not sent one...
  5. Going forward probably that will be the route... Right now though this stems from a trip booked well in advance. This isn't a FCC or refund issue. I had a paid in full sailing moved to a cheaper date and I'm getting raised by substantial amount... The other bookings I have have all been home runs. This one irritating ...
  6. Normally I would agree and believe thats what it was for that $25or so on the last L+S... The ports didn't change on this swap... Just the dates by 2 weeks... This should be like $95 less per person and instead just over a $100 increase...
  7. Maybe you have followed? Maybe not? I had a nice 5 night set up on Indy (my favorite) ... Falmouth and Labadee the stops... That one crashed into the Covid abyss. Ok Lift and shift to the rescue... Pick one a year out that the dates blended well for our two kids and their school vacations. Kind of a down grade to Mariner. This time Labadee but swap yucky Nassau for Jamaica (Wanted to show the kids river tubing and Dunns River)... Oh well it will just have to be Bay street and water taxi to the Atlantis side... Not pleased but not end of world. After the even swap there was a balance due of like $25???? Not worth questioning. Paid it.. RCCL tells us there has been a redeployment but all I ever saw was a couple dates taken out of original schedule and couple 4 night became 5 and a couple 5's just cancelled. I was one of the cancelled. There was option of going date they picked? Nope... No good for vacations. Offered two other dates and I selected one. That date being about $100 less per person than the one they were going to automatically put us in. Not a word for around three weeks. Just popped in my planner... Yay... Then I see balance due? Couple hundred and change each room??? WTH? Any ideas???... I know their math is questionable but this makes no sense. They sent me no refunds or anything from the previous two cancelled. Which reminds me they didn't kick back the Cruise planner stuff either? Another few hours on the phone? Suggestions?
  8. Update: The dates did change but now they want hundreds more ? I was paid in full now a chunky remaining balance????
  9. Yet another ten or so days with zero communication despite a couple more calls. ?????? In those calls they said I would hear by March 29th. Hasn't happened... Do I jus keep bugging them or try something different????
  10. Flying to South Africa years back, ticket agent entered wrong middle initial for me. At Palm Beach they weren't going to let me board. I was fumbling through ID's (Twic included) and they waved me through. Got to JFK and they were all over me about the middle initial . Same thing... Except I heard the guy say "TWIC!" Waved right through again... If I present it in most ports it gets the "yes sir" treatment.
  11. I answer most often to USCG. There are other law enforcement agencies operating in most ports as well. I saw somewhere today Jersey mentioned. Wow! They have a pile of agencies. USCG, DHS, Border Patrol, US Customs and Immigration, NYPD Harbor Patrol, NJ Marine Police, Close to the bases or ammo pier add NAVY...
  12. We have federal "TWIC" clearance but many are independently employed and under contract. In the northern ports they are heavily unionized. The terminals are often manned in several positions with the Cruise line staffs. Then you have various vendors , suppliers, purveyors, pilots, tugs, etc.

In presenting our case I would think the largest impact it may have on them is that the industry supports what amounts to a number of people equal in population to the CDC's home Atlanta...

  15. Lots of ships used to offer skeet shooting... The clay targets were flung over the water and the shots all went out toward the sea. To do archery they would need a vey big back stop to catch any errant arrows...
  16. It could get sticky with the CDC pushing for port workers to be vaccinated... That would fall back into state Jurisdiction. (I think) The whole VAC thing really complicates a lot of areas....
  17. They need to cut the verbiage by a lot and get really specific as to dates and straight forward step by step instructions as to exactly what the f it is that they want and a very specific time line...

  19. I have just tried to read the statement. No closer to understanding and a headache that could make an onion cry. Is it open and we have to document that we meet local health requirements? Is it closed and we now have more hurdles to jump over? Its clear that not only was this penned by lawyers but government ones at that. Jeeziz! Worse than sitting through a home owners association meeting!!! Any chance we have anybody in our ranks that could translate it to English?
  20. The way I read this their offers are an insult! Cut the trip basically in half and offer $100 for the inconvenience? Or book a day shorter one on a "not new" trip? I'm sorry that is way over the line wrong! I'm dealing with similar with that Mariner issue where they cancelled, made lousy offers then zero contact , confirmation , or anything! Its hard to stay loyal royal some days... ?
  21. I live Florida: hour from Lauderdale, 1 1/2 hrs from Miami or Canaveral. About 5 to Tampa. My other home is New Jersey . 45 minutes to "Cape Liberty" ... Boat captain by trade I was so busy that it was tough to get more than a quick cruise per year. Figures I eased way back on my schedule to allow 4 or so per year easy and the virus hit...

  23. Mariner cancelled and offered three dates to replace. I selected , filled out forms, and not a confirmation in writing in over two weeks. 8 other changed cruises I had multiple emails , receipts etc. One , like this didn't get emails and was real trouble that eventually got fixed but without the stuff in writing it was a whole lot tougher...
  24. It seems to be something relatively new. I have requested email confirmations for over two weeks regarding Mariner cancel/ change and they flat out said they can not and will not send anything! That has me all the way out of my comfort zone...
  25. I have a long illustrious history dealing with them and you're not alone. You mention 4? It can easily be 10 different answers (most or all wrong) . I have found though that when enough calls are made you eventually stumble on a rep or two who do get it... Persistence pays... On the no email thing thats one I'm dealing with currently and it is inexcusable. I was cancelled on Mariner and telephone reps said unable to help and had me fill out forms they sent to me to change the date of my sailing. No confirmation or even acknowledgement in over two weeks now. I guess my advice is keep on trying... Somebody somewhere will get it right eventually.
