  1. She came past me the other evening while I was fishing. At first I though it was the Manhattan skyline paying tricks on me then I realized it was her massive frame sliding out for a spin...
  2. Few bookings in front of me. Some I'm over the top excited. Then one that just isn't sitting well with me... The great ones are fine. Not a thing I would change. The "one" I'm not sure if I can change even... It was originally booked as 5 night on Indy doing Labadee and Jamaica, great price, great dates that fit our kids school breaks... When RCL shuffled the deck, we were down graded to Mariner: with a different leaving port, different dates, Labadee (Wont happen likely) and Nassau? Worst part is its not blending with my fiance's kids school break datess. We would need to leave her daughter on shore for it and take her demonic son and a friend to kind of force fill that spot since she can't make it. I'm teasing about the demonic part but he requires a lot of "supervision"... He's also not so keen on cruising... At this point its just kind of an afterthought. One nobody is overly excited for. They never gave me a FCC option or Lift and Shift. It was take one of these two dates or its a flat refund. . Since he really doesn't want to go (he is psyched to be going on symphony on an earlier trip) we thought about cancelling one of our balconies and drop the kids..... Well.... This was purchased as one of those "second guest is 60% off" deals. Each kid falls under that so not much at all would come back if we cancel "the kids" . The whole trip was so inexpensive cancelling the whole thing wouldn't kick back enough for a good 3-4 night jump. It would however be a good deposit for something nicer where the kids don't go along at all. I don't want to just dump them all together but school vacations don't mesh til summer and this is an early spring thing if they did some how let me lift and shift. Do I just hang on to it and hope for the best? Do I get a refund on a fare so low I can't buy anything else? Do I eliminate the kids and use that refund for a deposit for fiance and me? Do I try to see if RCCL will work with me on shifting dates, ship and itinerary? I often get stuck on easy questions like this and I do value your input...
  3. Thank you... For some reason that top line wasnl showing when I went to the page. Needed to redo my cookies...
  4. I asked this in another thread. I was answered........Kind of ???????? Every place that I read about the new tests said through August31???? I was told by others here that it was extended til December? I don't doubt it but I stull havn't seen it in writing? Does anybody have a copy of or link to the extension ????
  5. Had she had the right answers she could have sold me a trans Atlantic and trans Pacific balcony...
  6. I never had a planner before... Always been self serve... I have to PLAY travel agent to some degree in one of my businesses, big game fishing charters. Book air charters, coordinate to fly new guest in on the flights I have taking the previous gusts home. Booking hotels, planning meals, provisioning drinks and snacks on top of all the fishing stuff.... So I enjoy doing my own legwork... The drawback to doing it over the phone with random agents is some just don't get it. What I'm asking or talking about often requires multiple calls before I find a rep well versed or understanding of what I'm looking for. Then after three years working on a separate problem I kind of hoped this would be my one contact who could give me a clear series of steps to bringing that problem to happy resolution...
  7. It came with real Royal tel numbers and extensions along with direct email link... She did answer. Is she just limited to selling stuff? Like excursions or planner stuff?
  8. A few weeks ago I received a letter from someone stating they have been assigned to me as my "Certified Vacation Planner". In that letter they said they would assist with all booking questions and handle details... I didn't ask for that but felt it a nice gesture as C+A and I work through trying to find the 40 days and 14 years of sailings they misplaced. Thats been an ongoing irritation for three years now. Any way.... I have questions about COVID testing on my brutally tight work schedule. Dropped her an email with a moderately extensive list of whens and wheres and cans? "Call customer service"........ Just exactly what does she do if she doesn't answer questions as she said in the first letter?
  9. I'd need the quick ones. My previous tests have all cost me about $150 each. CVS nor Walgreens would even test me but that was like a year ago.. I guess (hope) it has changed. Somewhere between Palm Beach and Miami I hope to find one... My schedule is such that I fly down. Provision the boat and go to West End , Grand Bahama for wahoo fishing. Two groups a week each. Bring first group with me. Fly first group out and new group is on same plane coming in. Bring home second group. Clear customs for boat then take them to immigration (unless they have whats called an LBO card from Customs/ Immigration). I can do that at airport then pick up fiance/son from one flight and her daughter on another. So you can see I'm spoken for right up to leave for the cruise time...
  10. I made mention yesterday this ticks me off to no end. The whole reason I got vaccinated was to avoid this cluster. I work. My fiance'e works. Our kids work hard at school. We work hard. This new wrench in the works involves us giving up work to get tested. For her a few hours or a day. For our kids it will be having to get out of school for the test during holiday school testing time. For me, it involves cancelling a week long fishing charter for my guests so I can get tested in the window. Otherwise I would have come in from the carter and gone to the ship the next morn. That's huge $$$$$ .... We are slated for 4 cruises with 4 of us each trip. $600 just in test fees per trip ($2400 total). Wife 4 days work. For me??? 4 weeks pay and 4 weeks revenues to my business or bring in a hired captain at $400 a day times 28 days! Thats big... They were making tests available to the non vaccers at the port (at cost) . I see nothing like that for those of us who did as asked and got the vac... ??? Any ideas if somewhere in or near the ports (Miami, Canaveral, Lauderdale) we can get done?
  11. All through the lockdowns he was sneaking out and "hanging" with crowds. His class mates made local news for being party "spreaders" on regular basis. He was there on a couple occasions but got lucky...
  12. I was gonna say schedule time on a really quiet little Bahama island called Chub Cay... Then found out my best friend on island , their Dockmaster just passed away from Covid... ? Guess I'll just hunker down in New Jersey then Palm Beach Gardens homes. Fiance in Jersey. Her Daughter will come straight from Vermont college to PBG house. Her son is a pain in the butt. Need to lock him in the tool shed and fumigate ?
  13. I get doing our part (thus the vaccination). For us to test: Me- I was going to drive to my Florida home, pick the family up at the airport night before then to ship... Thats out the window with the time frame wanted. I have to take three extra days off then try and find a place down there to even get one.... Fiance' take off an extra day from work to get her and her son (extra day out of school) tested. Her daughter is at UVM and has classes right up til planned flight time from little podunk airport in the backwoods... Now we gotta find a place in those same backwoods to get a timely test and hope that it fits her school schedule! All this on top of laying put $600 that we never agreed to up front????? Then repeat these steps three more times?????
  14. Ok... I'm confused. I saw the order requesting the testing til end of August. Title f thread is through end of December? Did I miss something (not being stubborn) (I may well have missed something). I'm really reaching the limits of my patience with this stuff. Since its their new mandate they should puck up the tab as the other lines did. I specifically vaccinated myself and my loved ones to avoid having to take more tests especially at my cost! That's $600 a sailing times 4 sailings I gotta eat. Maybe $2400 doesn't mean much to some but that represents a two balcony 5 night for family of 4. Or a month of very big mortgage. Or 8 car lease payments. Or... You get the point. If they want me t test , fine but at my expense was not in the original contracts we entered into and I'm plenty cheesed off now!
  15. I dis agree... Stay can be long or short. CDC hasn't come up with anything in the alloted time and really can't un any time frame. The stay I feel will be short lived and the cdc will receive a shoe where the sun don't shine in the near future...
  16. I'm surprised he went so easy. He had given them ample opportunity to bring other evidences forward or revise the CSO... He saw them for what they are when they tried this stunt A bunch of wannabe baseless bullies! I'm surprised they tried something so petulant and childish , especially since he gave them a more than fair opportunity. They whizzed all over that gesture with their motion. Though he hasn't pulled that opportunity officially off the table. I'm sure he is ticked off enough that in effect the offer really is no longer there... They never even considered revising the CSO. They were playing an arrogant game of posturing and continuing with their draconian regulations...
  17. This is the second slap in the face he delivered to CDC First one was they had a chance and when they filed this injunction that was just stomped on, I think those cards came off the table and he's pissed now...
  18. Without getting into a bunch of legalese blabbering Im seeing it as the whole CSO is not approved by a judge at a federal level. I do not see where a judge has approved a CSO. I see the injunction was not only squashed but done so in very clear terms that the Judge is not very happy with the CDC. Thats just my read. I could be wrong.
  19. Sorry to hear... I have a couple cruises I'm booked on I'd cry big time if they changed. I have one that has already changed several times and each change amount to a down grade... Wish that one would flop so I could pick another...
  20. They have asked to see on some of the occasions. Some ask to see the card then enter the info into the contract... Same as asking and copying License info... Charter/ Med flights are insane expensive. Are you suggesting that they just say "Sure we trust you to be able to cover $25 Grand on a handshake..."? When that client doesn't have it , then what? Leave their sorry selves on the dock in some distant port? Its for the client protection as well... How does it look when "Giant cruise line abandons poor passengers" hits the press? They have had the poo knocked out of them from every angle for last two years. Forced tp sail light they can't keep bleeding money... Its a business... Whats not smart business is to risk your company tens of thousands of potential loss dollars by asking the simple questions you seem t be offended by. No body forcing you to sail at all... We'll be sure to wave to those who don't want to cruise as we sail away...
  21. I'm enterprise and every single time they ask and even when I say yes they try to upsell me. Most states require insured drivers... Some companies just pack insurance into a contract without saying anything...
  22. I have... I use my insurance which does cover rentals. My Father in law (foreign) has to get from rental company... We did this on regular basis til he passed last year...
  23. I believe the way it sits if you don't voluntarily show proof when "asked" you will be deemed unvaccinated and have to go through a mountain of poo...
  24. Should the business be on the hook for tens of thousands of dollars because someone didn't want the vaccine? You have to be insured to rent a car...
