We are sailing in January and my mother-in-law and her friend are booked in a cabin together. My mother-in-law is diabetic and sticks to just water, but her friend would like to get the drink package. I know usually they try and force the refreshment package on the other person in the cabin, but with a medical issue such as that, would they allow her not to purchase anything? Would we need a medical waiver or anything like that from her doctor? Just want to be armed and ready when we call to make the purchase for her friend, and know how to handle it. Thanks in advance!

I also am awaiting a response, even though yesterday they gave me $100 OBC after I initially complained; perhaps at my own peril I went back today and said I'm sorry, that just wasn't good enough when I take a step back and see what was removed vs. what was given. I also pointed out this was an illegal contract change, and at that point customer service actually stopped responding to me and I've yet to hear anything back at all in over 2 hours. It's gone beyond the mistreatment of the benefit into complete mistreatment by customer service as well. Now I'll be going after much more than my $90.

Oh, I completely agree, what we lost is not made up for, and it was one of the reasons we booked that room type. So to not have it honored, definitely felt like an insult from them, and still does, but at least I was able to get a little something of it back. Sad that I had to, but it was better than what they could have told me I suppose! And honestly if not for this site, I wouldn't even have known it had happened. I received no communication from RCI about it at all, and it affected both reservations we had. 

At first I agreed with your exact sentiment, so I reached out to RC support to let them know I was unhappy, and they doubled our OBC to $100 per room (we have 2 rooms booked). It helped soften the blow a little bit and I thought was a nice, courteous offer to help with the situation! I would recommend anyone else in the same situation give it a shot, can't hurt to try!

I checked with RC as I was interested in this as well, and I was told that all 6 people in the cabana will be given wristbands, included in the $499 price!

We rented one of the beds on the South Beach side back in February, and snorkeled out over that shallow area and saw lots. I can't compare it to the other area as we didn't go over there, but we encountered several sting rays, a small shark, more fish than we could count and some random junk. It worked out quite well, not being that deep, I thought.
