John was my MEI agent for the Sept Freedom group cruise (GC). It was a last minute decision for me and required multiple inquiries, emails and phone calls. John was very patient, professional and once I pulled the trigger he booked my cruise on a Sunday night.
As you get closer to the cruise Matt will post a page with all the details of the GC activities. Onboard MEI had a printout of the daily GC activities delivered to our cabin. In addition to that, Annette delivered a "welcome note" that included her cabin number, cell phone number and the location where we could find her every morning. Although we had zero issues, she told us to contact her instead of wasting vacation time in the Guest Services line. We have never experienced this exceptional service from previous agents.
I had an amazing time on the Freedom GC and look forward to booking another as soon as the 2018 date(s) are announced. Unfortunately I committed a year ago to two 2017 cruises and changes now would be too expensive.
Those that booked through an agency other than MEI, will not be invited to private GC activities. I will not hesitate to use MEI in the future.

We took advantage of the Royal BOA Visa for a few years, but have ditched it for the Sam's MasterCard. There are other cards that are more "rewarding" than Royal BOA.
Sam's pays 5% cashback for all fuel purchases, 3% on travel on dining and 1% on everything else.

Only 2.5 hours of work left today!!
Nice. I hope to be off sometime between 11 and noon. So much to do this afternoon...
-
I received it twice.

Any updates Dave?
Received my "ZIKA" text. Just means we are within 5 days of our cruise. Whoop!

Have you booked with BPC? They have really good prices and I wonder if they're good, or legit.
Thanks.
I did once, but Royal cancelled the cruise due to a charter. My experience with BPC was good, but I have read several reviews that are not very positive. I have used CruCon for many years and have enjoyed excellent service and great booking perks. Not fan of their website.
I can say that based on my recent experience with MEI they will receive the opportunity to earn my business again. They were very patient with me during my struggle to commit to the Freedom group cruise. I am happy that I drank from the Matt/MEI Kool-Aid. LoL

Just found out last night at work that my boss has scheduled me to work on Friday, 9/2, and Saturday, 9/3. I work third shift, so that means that I am scheduled to get off of work on Sunday, 9/4 at 7AM! I have flights out of Raleigh, NC on Saturday, 9/3.
I spoke to her about a year ago and asked about getting the time off. She said that it wouldn't be a problem. We can officially enter requests off in the computer 5 months ahead. So I entered the dates in April. She never said anything else about my request. Now that the schedule is posted, 4 other people have also requested these days off. I KNOW that I was the first, so I will have to deal with this tonight at work.
I have been looking forward to a great relaxing vacation, but now have to deal with this.
Well this sucks. I think I would remind her of the conversation from one year ago, present the proof that you were the first to request the days off and present her with the no refundable flight and cruise documents. Maybe offer to work the Friday shift, but explain that not allowing you to have Sat off would cause you to lose $$$. I am sure you have considered all your options, but just offering my .02. Keep us posted.

I've used this website: book.bestpricecruises.com
I also use BPC for research purposes.
Pull up the cruise you are interested in. Select the category you are interested in and it will list all available cabins. Click on the magnifying glass next to any cabin number and it will pull up the entire deck plan for the corresponding cabin. Every available cabin will have a blinking light.

Heck, my drive is only 4 1/2 hours to the port in Galveston, and I leave the day before. It's part of the vacation â›´
We do the same neighbor. Looking forward to your Liberty report Michael.

We have sailed in several JS and none of them used pods. They used the sealed coffee/filter combo. We have not sailed in an Oasis or Quantum class ship.
-
What's the cost of changing the flight to the day before? If you are comfortable with the additional cost, I would do it.
We no longer fly in the day of the cruise.

Hold out for a better deal. I was able to go from a deck 2 inside to a deck 7 promenade for $50 on Freedom Sept 4th.

I am unable to login to MyCruises. Goes to a Customer Support page. First time I have experienced issues on their site in a long time.
-
We have used Cortrans Shuttle twice and using them for my return trip on Freedom GC.
They are $20 pp each way.

A buddy called and said his plans changed so he can now make the trip. He is not active on any forums but I ordered him a GC shirt.
Speaking of GC shirts...
If you missed recent daily chats, Matt has requested that we all wear our GC shirts on Day 1.

That 7.95 is long gone. It WAS 8.95 last year. I see its 9.50 now

What's up neighbor?

They were available on our April Liberty cruise.

And just like that I am back to "doubtful". My buddies short notice leave was not approved. Damn the single supplement!

Thx Dave. My buddy will hear back today or tomorrow on vacation leave request. Trying not to get too excited. LoL

Texas residents can get a guarantee cabin (Category Z) on the Oct 30th, 2016 Liberty 7 night sailing for $636 ($808 w/tax and fees). That is TOTAL for two, not each!
