  1. Thanks! Yeah as of right now we couldn't go just because my daughter is unvaccinated. We as medical professionals have been doubly vaccinated since early March. She would have to quarantine for 2 weeks still. My hope is by then ( dec) they accept antigen testing for return.
  2. Selfishly i prefer celebrity's protocols. I believe young unvaccibated kids don't need to wear masks ( or at least that's what it used to be) and that would benefit our family.
  3. So maybe as cruising increases they will offer it to international travellers! Now I have hope! Lol
  4. Ok so what i really need is Canada to accept antigen tests...or require no tests by Dec! ?
  5. According to their site it seems pretty quick!
  6. Yeah thats what I figured. Wondering how fast I can get one at the airport to fly out that day!
  7. I know everything is still so fluid and so much can/will change as time goes on. However, has anyone heard if RC said they would offer travellers who need a negative PCR test to return home one on day 6 instead of the antigen test? As of now we need it before returning and if it could be done on the ship that would be a lot easier! That being said maybe by DEC an antigen test is sufficient or no test...even better!
  8. To be fair... The 8 crew on Odyssey tested positive less then a week after their vaccine. Its said to only be effective after 2 weeks. So that group was not really considered full vaccinated yet.
  9. Anyone else dying to hear what @Matt has to say about this subject? I think he is on that sailing and has children.
  10. For me its more so an issue for my daughter who is too young for the vaccine. I would prefer her around her vaccinated family and not always stuck in a group of all the unvaccinated people on the cruise. In our case we won't be sending her to AO ( usually do) and she will be travelling with 4 vaccinated adults. Feel like she should be considered in our vaccinated bubble. But thats just the perspective from a person with a young child. I know adults who travel without kids would have a different opinion. I also won't be happy if some locations, restaurants specifically are off limits for us because of it. If my trip in forced to a small area of the MDR for the unvaxxed group we will most likely not be sailing.
  11. Exactly! Will we be denied restaurants etc because we have a child who has yet to be offered the vaccine?
  12. Fingers crossed you are right...interested to see how it plays out...
  13. We are a double medical field household with an almost 6 year old girl. We have been doubly vaccinated for months. Im not gonna lie, reading the protocols does not make me happy. Almost sounds like we may not be allowed in certain restaurants because we have our daughter with us. And im yet to understand why the mask protocol is different in Florida ships vs Bahamas... ugh. Fingers crossed so much happens for the better before dec...
  14. I'm anxious to see what they will say about families with young kids who aren't able to be vaccinated yet. Im doubtful they exempt them immediately but maybe as the dust settles. But I have hope for my end of Nov cruise !
  15. I'm as Respiraory Therapist in Montreal Canada. For us as of now unvaccinated healthcare workers have to get tested 3 times a week or be relocated ( if possible) and if not possible home without pay. Maybe multiple tests for unvaccinated guests may be a wya to go. To keep on top of it? I believe the most important thing in this whole situation is that cruises need to do everything in their power to make at least the first while of cruising resume WITHOUT a major hitch. Worst thing possible would be to start up amd get pulled again because it blew up in their face. So maybe strict protocols for first bit to save cruising as a whole??
  16. will they be marking unvaccinated adults to be able to tell if they are complying?? or will it be honor system?
  17. For anyone on these sailings with kids Id love to know if they allow them to remove their masks for pictures at least!
  18. Interested to see how these rules change leaving from US. And how they change over time. On symphony end Nov and I know my 6 year old will understand she needs a mask inside ( wears one at school) but feel bad she will be the only one in our party wearing one. ( and deep down I dont want to wear it myself in solidarity! ?)
  19. We will all be watching what happens after freedom does its test cruise and to see how long it takes after to get it going. That will be an indicator for other ships hopefully being the same or less time frame.
  20. So only symphony 2022 sailings? My nov 27th is still the old sadly.
  21. Hands down vote for 150 CP. Phenomenal!
  22. Remember when we discussed showing up at the port at 10 am regardless of booked arrival time...craziness!
  23. I've been told to do both. Some say pay for an adult and get reimbursed, others say to pay adults and let them charge you the 10$. ( even heard often they don't charge for the kids meal even). And my cruise planner did not give me the child's option. Not sure what is best. When we cruised with her at age 4 we didn't book her anything and they added her to all reservations.
  24. Always enjoyed the talks about specialty dining when people want to confirm they can dine at 2 places in the same evening! Ha
  25. With all cruise talk being depressingly about vaccinations, health measures and when they will sail let have a fun thread on what we WISH we were talking about! Back when cruising was about drink packages and chair hogs! Let's have fun!
