Hey John. Was just watching some YouTube videos (We’re thinking of upgrading an AQ suite on Oasis) and there you were.

I have a feeling I won’t look as cool in it.

In just a few minutes today was able to call Costco travel and have them bring the booking into their system, change our room number (one with a bigger balcony opened up), reprice the cruise as the rate had fallen, and confirm our executive benefits, 2% back and a $475 Costco cash card. So much more pleasant than dealing with the outsourced weekend call center.

One thing to keep in mind is that at least with the upgraded toiletries from Lé Occitane is that the Shampoo and Conditioner are not Color Safe, so even though she liked the quality my wife had to bring her own.

I think I remember in the terms that once it accepted its charged and you’re stuck with it. If you’re unsure if you’d like the room I’d cancel the bid on that category. Even though the chances are next to none that anyone would cancel last minute, we cancelled our bid to the Royal suite on Navigator. Didn’t seem worth 1300 more on a 3 day cruise.

They got it right in the mini/junior suites on the breakaway class though. We actually liked that bathroom better than the ones in the Junior suite on Harmony. The lack of a double sink sealed the loss and very much outweighed having a bathtub instead of just a full length shower.

It might be worth it if it wasn’t an interior on a inferior ship. I might part with two million of my points for a junior suite on symphony.

I think Epic was just poorly conceived from the beginning. We’ve always avoided it because of the bathroom setup in the balconies and mini suites

As I mentioned in my message it was based on the free at sea promo and no one buying it outright and then not requiring the extra guests. I wonder if the same holds true for RCCL, I know sometimes they have UK promos with included drink promos, if there’s any one who’s done that did they require the third and fourth guest(s) to purchase it?

So far I’ve booked both of my Club Royale involved sailings through their phone agents, who have been less than useful and seem to have a lack of understanding how their partner program with MGM Mlife works. In frustration I transferred my 2020 Oasis sailing over to Costco last night (2 percent back on travel that one trip pays for the membership), but can a travel agent initiate a casino booking? Hopefully @AnnetteJackson is lurking in the forums.

Would be so much easier if you could actually price it online (and no that stupid form submission doesn’t count) We’re in a GS2Bed next year but want to price out the aquatheater 2 bedroom, but calling them is just so frustrating.

When I talked to them last month it was explained that on anything higher than a junior suite the discount is only ten percent.

I think as there’s always a free at sea program going they figure no one is actually going to pay for it. And unlike on RCL not all adults in a room have to have it.

I know we had him on either escape or getaway, and he was great. It seems as if the cruise directors take a very different role from RC and NCL. On Harmony it was very much like Michaele was there as an business manager, whereas on NCL they’re more like hypemen to keep the fun going.

It’s the 18 percent gratuity. It’s the same on the deluxe beverage package on RCCL but they’re giving you the Drinks for free.

Hopefully slowing it down solves the issue. There’s not an easy place where they can send it for a quick repair in the Bahamas right now.

We had a junior suite on Harmony and as for coastal kitchen, they seem to want to keep you out of there as much as possible. We’d ask about reservations and the host would make it seem as if we were inconveniencing him. No access to the suite lounge. But most importantly you get the walk in closet as well as embarking with the suite guests.

I compared the two back in my live blog from Harmony back in December.

I fly Southwest 75-100 times a year (I’m in the BWI-DCA-IAD area) and fly Delta the rest of the time (60 or so segments a year), that southwest effect is a limited time thing. When we look back in 36 or so months we’ll probably have seen fares stabilize, and also remember that Southwest is flying planes over to Hawaii without outlets and Recaro slimline seats with No IFE.

I’m Mlife gold so am supposed to get benefits on RCCL but that staff has been useless recently.

If only that was true for the Airline market, they just seem to unofficially collude on everything to make options worse for consumers at each turn.
