  1. We've got a big Alaska land cruise in June '22, so we booked the April 23, '23 sailing.
  2. Thanks for taking the time to post about your experiences. It looked amazing! What did your dad think?
  3. We've had a couple of dry days, and the plumber came back out to add some more equipment to the pad. Hopefully the electrician makes it out today or tomorrow because we have more rain in the forecast on Friday and again on Tuesday. In the meantime, I may have booked a 2BR Aquatheater on Allure. 781 days to Star Class!
  4. I hope that's just a test price on the Allure sailing too. Liberty 7 day prices are 1/3 of what's in the picture.
  5. Nah, that size hail is normal with spring storms around here.
  6. From winter weather to storm season in Texas. This time the white stuff is dime to nickel size hail.
  7. I am so sorry, Joe. I hope you have some miraculous healing overnight.
  8. The frozen tundra of Texas has thawed out, and work has resumed. The plumbers showed up around 3:00 yesterday afternoon to finish digging the trenches for the pipes manually. They also brought some of the equipment out. The project manager stopped by this morning and said the plumbing should be finished today. We have rain in the forecast this week, so he's not sure if the electrician will make it out before next week. DH's grill should be on the way. He received daily updates from the company about shipping delays due to the weather, but he hasn't heard a thing since it warmed up. He's going to follow up with them today. I'm going to lose my spot in the garage soon. Stonework should start by the end of next week, and our patio furniture will be taking my car's place for a bit. We may leave it there until after plaster to keep it clean. I'm excited that things have started moving again!
  9. The sailing isn't complimentary. Just $75 off with 1-4 comped nights in Vegas depending on the hotel. Like I said, I'm pretty far down the casino's player ranks though. I'm sure there are better offers for those further up the club status chain.
  10. Yesterday I received an email from Casino Royale about their current promo with M Life. Basically book a cabin on certain dates/ships and receive complimentary nights at a MGM property in Vegas. I looked closer at it this morning and noticed the sail dates. The first is on Mariner at the beginning of October - a 4 day to CocoCay. The second sailing is Symphony at the end of October - 7 day Eastern Caribbean and CocoCay. Several ships in November, Liberty being one of the last to start (along with Allure) at the end of November. The email also said the offer could be applied to any sailings between October 2021 - February 2022. Does this look like a clandestine hint that sailing won't start up until October, or am I reading too much into it? I don't generally look at the Casino Royale emails I get because I'm too far down the ranks - it makes more sense for us to book dates that are convenient for us and not a specific sailing, so I wasn't sure if they usually advertise dates that are closer in or this far out.
  11. Am I the only one who had a love hate relationship with the idea of a cabin crawl? On one hand, I would love to see some of the suites we haven't stayed in, but on the other, I hate the idea of strangers in my own cabin. I think it would feel like having my house on the market too...I would want it to be neat and clean, but I know the kids and DH would care less. One of them might even offer to show everyone our dirty clothes hamper in the closet. ?
  12. Thanks for checking @JLMoran. We've been below freezing for days and had some negative temps in the mornings; however, we've also been extremely fortunate and have kept power throughout. Most our area is without or still experiencing rolling blackouts. I need to start baking for Saturday's wedding tomorrow, so hopefully our luck holds. All faucets dripping with no issues there so far either. My sister lives 20 miles away and their power was out most of Monday. Brother in law had no power for over 30 hours and is now dealing with broken pipes. We've had 2 rounds of snow 3-4 inches the fist time and another couple inches last night. I guess the pool technically has water in it. A lot of them have frozen over in our area.
  13. Just like pets, if you let the kids name the robo vac you potentially wind up with a lame name. Ours is called Sweepy...and he isn't very smart.
  14. I love it. I hate when I'm on an excursion and see a ship in the distance that has some really cool feature on the top deck, but we're too far away to see the name.
  15. Glad it went well. I hope you have a quick and painless (as possible) recovery.
  16. We've hit a lull due to the weather. Like most of the country, it will be wet and freezing here for a week. I think it's a blessing in disguise because DH wasn't ready to order his outdoor kitchen equipment until now, and it will take about 2 weeks to get here. The only other thing that's happened is the forms have been removed from around the gunite and all the plastic tarp that was covering the fence was taken away at that time. So it still looks like a construction site, it's just not a messy construction site now.
  17. Right! We just watched the last episode. When's the next (and sadly, final) season coming?
  18. Speaking for all of us who pass out at the sight of blood, I appreciate the photo-less format.
  19. Yeah...DH is an engineer and used to being in control of schedules and details so he's not thrilled. I probably should have made sure he took his blood pressure meds yesterday before I called screaming that they were tearing up our front yard. ?
