  1. I've sailed both, and I love both (even with Allure not being amplified). That being said, if water slides are something that you want to have on your ship, Navigator is your girl. And with the savings of not having to fly? I'd be all over that.
  2. Thanks! I guess people who visit Disney would know that. I went once, so there's no reason to ever go again, lol. I'm surprised that they'd know 4-5 months in advance. That's impressive.
  3. Yep, you'll be able to get off at the ports. It's always recommended to bring an official photo ID (driver's license is fine). Rarely are they requested, but I have had it happen in Nassau and Canadian ports.
  4. You can call Royal (or your travel agent, whoever you booked through) and see if you can switch to early Traditional Dining. If they are out of room, you can try to book an earlier time through the app or by visiting the MDR when you embark and speaking with the host. Alternatively you could take him to the Windjammer or other open venue and get him something to eat so he's not hangry by 7:30.
  5. If your luggage is carry-on size, then you can take it onto the ship yourself (but I wouldn't, especially if you have an early embarkation time - you'll have to drag it around for a couple of hours and that's a pain). Anything brought onto the ship has to fit through the security xray machines, and full-sized luggage will not. At debarkation, yes, you may take your own luggage off as long as you're equipped to handle it yourself.
  6. Passports are always preferred (in case something happens and you need to fly home on an emergency - medical/family/whatever), but you can cruise with an original birth certificate as well, as long as your cruise is closed loop (beginning and ending at the same US port).
  7. I'll take any offer of $10k to sit through CATS! I sat through "The Book" and survived, and that was really painful. Plus, hey, $10k (gotta pay off those Icon bookings).
  8. You can use the app to find out when all of the shows, trivia, music are scheduled once you're on the ship. It takes a little time to get used to, but being able to add them to your calendar (where you'll get a notification an hour before they begin) can be pretty handy.
  9. Really? Even if you book many months in advance? I guess I never saw anything anywhere on maintenance of anything when I booked Disney 5 months in advance.
  10. Go to CruiseDeckPlans.com and check out some of the photos from various Jr Suites - then you can figure out what category or individual cabins might fit your needs.
  11. There are more places to eat than the buffet. I find the buffet food not remotely to my likely, but I just eat at other venues.
  12. I always stay at the Kimpton Epic as it's near the port and lots of dining, then take a Lyft to the port.
  13. The difference is that if you have one device for each of 4 passengers they each get their own unique log in and password. If you do one person with 4 devices, it's one login/password that can be shared among any 4 devices. My husband and I do the one person/two device option, because it's cheaper. But because we often switch back and forth between a cell phone and tablet, we sometimes knock the other person offline (as we can only have 2 devices). If we remember to log out of one device before logging in on the 2nd it goes fine. It's only a small hassle for the cost savings.
  14. You could try messaging them directly on any of the social media platforms. They tend to answer much quicker than email. However I thought that I heard that they no longer allow this practice.
  15. Check your invoice. It will either say "MyTime" or it will say what time your dining is.. OR
  16. Check a previous Cruise Compass. Entertainment, in general, doesn't change much (especially when it comes to theater shows). https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/cruise-compass
  17. Check TripAdvisor for recommendations. Good luck!
  18. I would chalk it up to them using an old graphic of the menu.
  19. Johnny Rockets only serves breakfast on Oasis-class ships (where it is free). They do not serve breakfast on Mariner.
  20. I have a Gold and Reserve AmEx - they seem to never give RC offers to those, dangit.
  21. Yes, but you'll have to call Royal, you can't do it through the Cruise Planner. They will require you to get the Refreshment Package.
