  1. I'm so relieved. I was reading one of your earlier blogs and you kept using "KSF". For the life of me I couldn't figure out what the heck it meant. Mystery solved. I can return to my regular programming (which, let's face it, just consists of reading more cruising blogs).
  2. Oh, I'm so sorry for your loss. Where will you be headed on your first cruise back? I thought missing Sydney and getting to spend two nights in Quebec was a much better deal on that cruise.
  3. Yeah, it was unfortunate timing although I thought it was sort of fun.
  4. This is definitely true - it could be gorgeous, it could be miserable. When we went it was a combination. The weather on shore was great - but we got caught in the tail of Hurricane Ivan (I'm sure downgraded from a hurricane by then) and had 35 foot swells, which kept us from stopping in Sydney and put most of the ships in their rooms from queasiness. But they opened up some of the lower bars with free mimosas and Bloody Marys, so we were happy!
  5. Then I could hang out with the cool kids up on Deck 10! But alas, it's already booked.
  6. One of my favorite things to do with my horse is take her in the lake and go swimming. Yes, occasionally they poop in the water (I think it's happened once to me over the years). Meh, not that big of a deal - horse poop is pretty benign. (This is from a former zookeeper who has dealt with excrement on ALL levels - herbivores are nothing. Unless we're talking tapirs, which nobody ever does, but I have stories). As far as the woman filming her husband filming the moose who said "I totally get it", she really doesn't get it.
  7. I blame the jerk who has the nerve to tarnish your good name.
  8. Yeah, I opted for an ocean view room on this one (frankly, it was the only room left at the group rate anyway). I'll miss my balcony! Maybe as it gets closer I'll give in and try to move up from the bowels of the ship - Mr. SpeedNoodles is totally fine with the porthole, though, so I don't know that I'll be able to make a valid argument for the switch.
  9. This is really valuable reading for someone like me who hasn't traveled in many years and is planning on doing more.
  10. This is the same itinerary and ship for the Oct 2020 Royal Caribbean Blog Group Cruise!
  11. To date my favorite cruise was a 10-night, round trip from Boston to Quebec. I wish it was still offered - now they are one way on Royal.
  12. I believe you do on Oasis and Quantum class ships - reservations are never available for shows on other classes of ships. Just show up and go to the area roped off for The Key.
  13. We stayed at Excellence Playa Mujeres years ago - I agree that it was an excellent experience with top shelf liquors and wonderful food. Still, we really prefer cruising - it's just a different experience!
  14. I can still see the one I have booked for Juneau (it's gone up in price. Maybe if it goes down it will disappear!)
  15. Here's a post about my experience with The Key on Mariner: https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/boards/index.php?/topic/10824-the-key-my-experience-last-week/
  16. Weren't Quantum class really built for cold-weather weather regions?
  17. Welcome to the boards!! I checked my cruise planner for my December sailing and I can choose between 7:30 am and 12:30 pm for the half day waterpark at Coco Cay. Also, you may want to edit your post to put the topic of the post in the title line instead of your name. People are more likely to click on the post if they know what it's regarding ? Happy sailing!
  18. It used to do that to me, too. For some reason it doesn't anymore. (yay!)
  19. I admit it. I broke them on Feb 4th, lol. I didn't visit every venue, obviously. I mostly got drinks at the pool bars.
  20. Thanks for sharing your impressions! I managed to catch one of your periscopes from there and it really did look like an attractive property.
