  1. We always take an uber/taxi from hotel to cruise port as I like being on our own time and not waiting around to get there. (Think that's what you are referring to) The booking has an option of about $12 an airport shuttle....so I assume airport to hotel. That's the one I'm questioning. (We book through Expedia so could be their own price difference?)
  2. Different area to consider. Thanks for the link. Thanks Sabrina! I have found your review and see the pictures and your comments. It looks really nice! This may fit the bill and it may be a good idea to just book it now (refundable) and then can can change it later on if needed. Area sounds great as originally i was thinking we'd head to Manhattan but think in the end, we'd just stay in the area for the afternoon pre-cruise (depending on our flight time). And yes, this is for our Anthem cruise next March break with our kids. Question...I see for booking there is an option that includes breakfast, and another option for a bit more that includes breakfast and airport transportation. Do you think the latter is worth it? Or is it better/easier/quicker to just grab an uber to get there?
  3. Any hotel (or even area) to stay in for a cruise out of Cape Liberty? We would probably arrive one day before and like convenience, safe area , clean and affordable. Assuming for now that we'll be flying into EWR.
  4. Excited to follow along as you don't see many reviews from Celebrity...and we can switch over at same/comparable c&a level. Enjoy your cruise! Ship looks beautiful. On our last couple cruises, we kept seeing her (i.e. same ports)
  5. Yikes. Those pictures look pretty bad. Is that all the crane damage? Or would that be Royal tearing up the area in order to fix it?
  6. I would think once you are assigned, you price check against your assigned category. If you switch to guarantee, then you would be placed back in the pool waiting for another room assignment.
  7. Ditto. We like a promenade room as it's a great alternative to an interior (for similar price) but you get a window and extra sitting area.
  8. Talk about confusing. I know Royal will send upgrade bids for rooms that are sold out, but haven't heard of rooms that don't even exist on that ship. How odd. ? OP...never been in one but have noticed the spacious interiors. If you are already in an interior and don't mind a room without a window, then I saw it's well worth the upgrade for $80. I'm sure you can do a google search and find one (or even do a mock booking to see the basic picture) but sounds like a lot more room. I'm looking at Harmony and they are at the front of the ship, so you have to be ok with that.
  9. We did Cleve's Adventure and Tours. You can customize the tour to what you'd like to do (and they'll make suggestions based on logistics and cruise timing). We had Cleve's wife as our tour guide. Great tour. Thee are lots of positive reviews on Tripadvisor.
  10. We visited Roatan on our last Symphony cruise and really enjoyed it. Did a private tour which visited the sloth and monkey place, the chocolate factory and West Bay Beach (which is beautiful). The tour guide was great too with lots of info on culture, etc. We had same itinerary as you but Nassau instead of CoCo Cay so that's the one we skipped.
  11. Nice to see. We're trying Anthem for the first time in March. PS - I didn't realize that Spectrum is out so soon. Enjoy! It looks great.
  12. From what I've noticed...they seem to open up entertainment a few months at a time. For our past Symphony sailing in March, I remember it was the Nov before and hearing that people on the Jan cruise still didn't have their bookings available. Then they became available and we got ours the same time. Likewise, same thing with our Allure cruise a couple years earlier. So it might depend if you are at the start of a range they are opening (which means you will get it early) or end (where you will get it closer to your sail date). Just some observations from past experience.
  13. Although disappointing, it's a good thing that they are taking all measures to ensure it doesn't happen again. We have Mariner booked for next summer again and will be a bit worried with my kids going on it (and had no concern when they went last summer).
  14. twangster, thanks for explaining. Def not worth it then trying to catch up with the ship. Am sorry again as I know the excitement before a cruise when looking forward to it. Hopefully you'll get a replacement soon.
  15. Oh no twangster. Am so sorry. That's always a cruise fear . Sucks you weren't able to fly in day before for to family plans. Even if you get your money back, there is still the disappointment of missing your trip. Maybe silly question but anyway to make it to the first port?
  16. Lol...so true. It's so nice these boards exist so we can talk with each other, ask questions and share together. Good luck! That would be great if you can make that next level and get that meal.
  17. Yeah ..flying really adds to the cost. I envy those who live in driving distance to a cruise port.
  18. Speednoodles, amazing view. Bet you'll love that! Even if no walk in closet, still looks nice. I like the little cabinet when you walk in next to the bathroom. Very handy for stuff.
  19. I'm looking at your signature. Amazing line up!
  20. NIce! And one coming up very soon. Have a great one!
  21. Exact same with numbers and dates....and with people questioning "you have 2021 booked"? And same...after we complete our booked ones, we'll only be 15 point away from Diamond. Hmm...that's a couple cruises.
  22. Exactly...it's so nice having them stacked up knowing when one ends, there are still others. And yes, same reaction. ?
  23. Harmony B2B would be great. There's always so much to do, so you'll have time to do all with double cruise. ?
