  1. Only if they haven’t met their sales quota
  2. I think I have good editing skills too. ?
  3. ... and Royal takes all the flak for disease outbreaks!
  4. I've seen signs like this in the Windjammer
  5. Mariner seems to have this problem with table assignments. We had 8 staterooms/families in our group. I took us several calls to Royal before the sailing to finally get our bookings linked together. For some reason, one or two families were being "unlinked" each time we'd follow up. When we finally get them linked, two other families are unlinked. Maybe that's Royal's version of "musical chairs" Anyway, come Night 1 of the cruise, two families were assigned seats away from our section, like very far away from us. I put on my "Mr. Nice" hat and firmly asked for them to fix it. They did!
  6. Thanks for the info. I mostly stay in Marriott's Category 3 hotels - Courtyard, Springhill Suites, Fairfield Inns, and the like. I booked Fairfield Inns for 17,500 just now. It's about 12-13 miles from the Port of Miami.
  7. I'd like to bump this topic for new information. I'm looking for recommendations for a hotel in Miami for a one-night pre-cruise stay. As much as possible, I'd like to stay at a Marriott Bonvoy hotel for loyalty points. I also prefer staying at a hotel that provides shuttle service to the Port of Miami. Of course, if the shuttle service is free, that would be a plus. FYI, I'm not a hotel snob. Views, pools, proximity to nighttime activities, and dining options are not a factor. I just need a clean and decent place to sleep.
  8. I already shared this in another thread. I’m Platinum and while waiting to board on the Ovation in Seattle, I noticed some small signs indicating where the different classes of guests should be seated. But when boarding time came, I was “herded” in the same horde as the Suite and Key guests. Being alone and skipping the pre-boarding photo shoots, I quickly got to the front of the first wave of boarding passengers. This Platinum cruiser was one of the first aboard the ship.
  9. In our case on the Mariner last June, we had an informal agreement that it was going to be one device per family/stateroom with a 4-device VOOM package. No logging in and out of devices.
  10. There are still about 10 ships not listed among those supporting the new app.
  11. Just like @JLMoran said, if Royal raises gratuities, you will be grandfathered in to the old rate. My TA, @StephanieH, said the same thing.
  12. The Ovation must be using an older system. For my sailing last month, I was given a code to log on.
  13. Oh yeah ... I forgot about the birth certificate requirement
  14. They say we have different "love languages". For some it is gifts (giving). There's joy that comes from tipping. Since cruising is about enjoyment, those that have this love language just tip away!
  15. Does this mean that, barring any problems and complications, one can go on a cruise with just a driver's license? I've long wanted to try this, presenting just my license and not my passport at check-in.
  16. Yes, this is right. I asked my friend who made the purchase for the group. 1 code - 4 users (for the 4-device plan, of course)
  17. We did that on the Mariner last June. Four families shared a 4-device plan ... one device per family. It worked for us. EDIT: I asked my friend who made the purchase for the group. It was ONE code - 4 users (for the 4-device plan, of course). My bad
  18. This May 22nd sailing on Radiance has both Hubbard and Glacier Bay in its itinerary... looks exciting. How's Alaskan cruising in May?
  19. What would be a good plan for a self-guided tour of Seward? I've read about a free shuttle to the cruise terminal. Has anybody tried that? How was it? If I arrive in Seward days before the cruise, I would not be able to use the luggage check-in from Anchorage. I will have to have my luggage with me until embarkation day. Any potential problems with that? How many days would be needed to explore Seward just for its main attractions?
  20. Are there good, reasonably priced hotels in Seward?
  21. Based on the Master List, the following members are sailing on Sunday, the 29th. @Tim B. @jaguarsfanfl @viga @MiAMiA @mook1525 @Brenna @RazorbackIslandGirl Can you please ask about this when you get onboard? Thanks!
  22. I haven't really tried ordering room service on embarkation day. The DAY 1 Cruise Compass says it's available 24 hours a day as opposed to disembarkation day where it's only open until 1:00AM. Some of the answers I got from online searches are, "after Sail Away", "after 5PM", "early evening"
  23. "RR" will show on your SetSail Pass. It's what I used to get drinks before I got my SeaPass card.
