  1. I actually asked my TA about this today. He said that names on a reservation can be changed up to the point that a manifest is sent to the ship, without it being an issue. That's apparently about 2 weeks before sail date.
  2. That's a relief, hah! Yeah, I have to wait until the credit is available anyhow (hopefully tomorrow). At least I have some kind of a baseline now.
  3. I'm waiting for my Future Onboard Credit to be applied to my account and use that to pay, and overnight prices skyrocketed. OUTCH. Like, 60% increase on VOOM packages and 15% increase in the deluxe beverage package. Yikes.
  4. Right, and we used it on Harmony for a Thanksgiving 2019 cruise. It was... laggy at best. Often messages were delayed on transmission by up to 2 hours.
  5. I actually got through to RC's customer support. Apparently the $251 was the *per certificate* amount, and it was for my cruise planner (ie: Future Onboard Credit) purchases, not FCC, as the email said. So... kind of poor communication from the agent in this case.
  6. OK so I was on Vision out of Puerto Rico on 8/15, but she was moved to Nassau and thus our sailing was cancelled. I opted for FCC rather than a refund, and today got an email from the TA I booked with stating that I had $251 future cruise credit, and was given 3 certificate numbers. The TA is now "off" until Sunday, per her voice mail. I cannot for the life of me figure out where this $251 came from - I made total deposits of $750 back in mid-February, and submitted a payment for the entire balance due the day before we were notified that our cruise was officially cancelled (trying to get it all paid to pick up a bit more on the 125% offer once it was official). I don't think the full balance payment went through, but there's still the $750 in deposits, which the entire amount should be eligible for the FCC +25% So where would $251 come from? I paid more than that in onboard purchases, but my understanding is that a separate "Future Onboard Credit" will be issued for that stuff. Is there somewhere we can plug in the FCC certificate number and find out what it IS or how it was calculated? By my estimates, it should have been $750 x 125% = $937.50
  7. Ah didn't realize it was a limited quantity. Though considering they are booking at only half capacity that's a bit surprising. Thanks.
  8. Interesting. I had The Key in my shopping cart for an 8/15 Liberty sailing. It's completely gone - not just from my cart, but from the site. Has that been discontinued?
  9. I've always wanted them to show which rooms are available at what capacity per room, before you indicate how many people are travelling.
  10. Hi folks! Been a couple years since I was around here. Tried to book Vision out of PR on 8/15 but we got Nassau'ed.... rebooked out of our home port on Liberty for the same time. Hoping that goes through as we've talked a friend of my daughter's into joining us on this trip (they were going with us out of PR, and decided to follow along on the Liberty booking as well). They will be first time cruisers, and if this one goes through we'll be Platinum afterwards (woot, bring on the $50 balcony savings or whatever, haha). Anxiously waiting to see if this happens, and whether or not RC will require only their shore excursions or will allow folks to book their own. Has anyone heard about the capacity they are booking at right now? I read somewhere not too long ago that it was 50% or so, which frankly will be nice, if true. Also excited to see that bookings for Allure out of Galveston are available but holy moly the prices! We sailed on Harmony for Thanksgiving in 2019 and it was less than the same on Allure next November. Yikes!
  11. Didn't think it was. Still annoying to consider at all.
  12. Man... the very idea of corkage fees is annoying. I don't drink wine, and this is another reason not to, for me. Why are they able to pull this off? It's just pulling a cork out of a bottle, no? Why is that $15??
  13. Did a quick search and didn't see this mentioned here yet. This is good, IMO! https://cruisefever.net/royal-caribbean-adding-book-now-pay-later-airfare-for-cruises/?fbclid=IwAR0zNBDauPAzsqFzewYTN4K4ML70-FE3J0XaIzSMTyQTQUqQBDYjuL-u8jo
  14. My thought is that if you are an elevator type person, it's probably BETTER to be on a deck far away from activities. Why? Well for one reason you're far less likely to get dirty looks when you get on and punch a button for the next deck up/down :) Also, let's say you wanna get to activities on Deck 4. If you are on 12, there won't be but maybe 1 deck of people ABOVE you on the elevator by the time it hits your deck, on the way down. It'll be a crapshoot on the way up, but at least for half the time, you'll not wind up looking at 100% jammed full elevators due to being < 3 decks from all the happenings. If you don't use elevators... well, then sure, get as close as you can (unless you LIKE taking stairs, and then who cares? LOL)
  15. Set up a whiteboard in the room or use magnets for each person's name, and have them write when and where they went somewhere.... along with when they think they'll be back in the room.
  16. Can y'all recommend some TAs that specialize in European skiing (Switzerland) vacation planning?
  17. We'll be on Harmony for her Thanksgiving sailing, and are planning some kind of ski trip for Christmas. Other than that, just a few out-of-town trips for my daughter's gymnastics meets. MAYBE I'll squeeze in a cruise out of Galveston this summer, before school starts back up. It'll be the most we've travelled in quite awhile :)
  18. Ah see that's what I was wondering. I'm looking at June 2020 - the refurb looks like it'll have more for my (then) 11yo to do onboard :)
  19. There's a corner aft balcony that I'm really tempted to put a deposit down, for next June (my 50th) on a south/eastern Caribbean cruise.
  20. Group trip sounds awesome! Unfortunately we're already confirmed for Thanksgiving on Harmony, and are planning to ski somewhere over Christmas. That said, I'm not sure who'd go with me out of PR yet - my 10YO wanted slides and more "kids activities" when we were on Navigator last month, so that would be one factor. I'm eyeing the itinerary more than the ship, but wouldn't travel alone, so it might impact who gets the invite :) (sister or family, lol)
  21. Kinda eyeballing it for a possible sailing from Puerto Rico to the eastern Caribbean. Is it up for any kind of refurb, or has that been done recently? Tell me about your cruise on it :)
  22. Hey everyone! My husband got the video assembled of our Christmas cruise to the Caribbean, and it’s up on YouTube. It’s about 19 minutes long, so grab some popcorn.
