  1. We were just at Maya Chan a few weeks ago. They are at the pick up place 30 minutes after your ships scheduled arrival. The van ride out was "extra bumpy" because it had just rained. I think the ride was about 30 minutes. We had an amazing day. The food, drinks and service were top notch. We heard a lot about the seaweed issue. We were pleasantly surprised with the water. We spent a good portion of the day floating in the water(and I'm picking about water). They come around and ask what time you want to leave. We headed back to the ship at 2:00PM. Our all aboard time was 5:30. Your early departure time will definitely shortened your day. If you do decide to go, I'm sure you will have a great time!
  2. I could care less what other people wear. All I know is people watching on a cruise is never boring!
  3. We didn't do any specialty dining on this sailing. We had dinner every night in the main dining room. There are definitely hits and misses. We are not huge foodies and very easy to please. If someone else is cooking and cleaning I'm happy. We don't set foot in Windjammer anymore. We go to the Solarium if we want a buffet. We also enjoyed breakfast at Johnny Rockets.
  4. This made me laugh. We just got off Allure and this describes our FB page too. I feel like I'm missing something with the duck craze?!
  5. We just got off Allure last week. We had a great sailing. My husband made prime but we felt like the slots were extra tight. I hope they are kinder to you. Have fun!
  6. Did you join our sailing page on Facebook? They have a few meet and greet events set up on there. Here is a link to the group. https://www.facebook.com/groups/3370654729840756
  7. We are not fans of scheduling shuttles or transfers. We have always had good luck using Uber or Lyft. Check your cruise planner for Kennedy Space Center Tour with Airport Transfer. That may be an option if you are looking for something to do after the cruise. Good luck!
  8. I just booked my return flight home for this cruise on Southwest. I paid $119/ticket for a non-stop flight to Detroit. I'm sure you are grateful you don't fly much anymore. Airfare is all over the place. *This is another argument my husband uses to retire to Florida someday*
  9. FYI... If you fly Southwest they released their schedule for our cruise period today. I got a non stop flight home(Detroit) for $119. I was happy with that!
  10. I googled average temperatures by month for our port stops. The average temp in St Maarteen is 83 degrees in January. I think we are going to do a beach day in St Maarteen. We plan on walking to the fort in Puerto Rico and hopefully we get a nice warm day in Cococay.
  11. We have cruised many times during August and September. Knock on wood.... we have never had any issues. If something comes up they will work around it. This sailing will be here before we know it!!!!
  12. How exciting!! You will have a great time. Let us know if you have any questions and we will try and help.
  13. Wow! We can only dream of cruising for that long. Hopefully in retirement. I'm a newbie prime member. We used our annual prime certificate for this sailing. Can't wait!
  14. You picked a great ship and itinerary for your first sailing. We are on this sailing as well. We can't wait!!
  15. I love price checking...... We are sailing on Allure in September under a casino comp interior room. Last week the price to upgrade to a Boardwalk Balcony room was only $48. This morning I noticed the price is the same as the interior rooms. I called and they are refunding the $48. This is the first time staying in a Boardwalk balcony room. We are excited to try something new.
  16. **We sailed on Adventure out of Galveston in March. See the review I posted after our trip below** We just returned from a 4 day sailing on Adventure of the Seas yesterday. This was our first time sailing out of Galveston. I was a little nervous about our transportation going in. We had 3 people in our party. Here is how it worked out for us. --We flew in on Wednesday to the Bush Airport(IAH). We got an Uber within 10 minutes of requesting one. It cost us $87.73(that included a 25% tip) to take us to the Holiday Inn in Galveston. --On cruise day the Uber cost $14.21(that included a 25% tip) to take us from the hotel to the port. She was able to drop us off at the port with no problems. -- We disembarked on Monday. We took a short walk(about 10 minutes) outside of the port area to a corner store. We were told if you walk outside the port area it would cheaper and easier to get a ride. Our Uber ride arrived less than 10 minutes after requesting one. We flew out of the Hobby airport(HOU). The Uber ride cost us $73.75(that included a 25% tip). I was a little worried after reading so much about transportation issues in Galveston. We had no issues using Uber.
  17. We've been to all 3 beach resorts. Our favorite is definitely Paradise Beach. IMO it has the best grounds and pool. They all basically have the same food and drinks. You can't go wrong with any of them.
  18. We just got off of Adventure of the Seas yesterday. I needed 865 points to reach prime. I made prime on March 31st around 11 PM (nothing like waiting to the last minute)!! This is my first time hitting prime so I am excited! I received a $250 off certificate in the room. I receive several interior room offers throughout the year.

  20. I just got off the phone with Club Royale. I booked an interior room on Wonder of the Seas sailing 1/24/24. I had to pay $500 today. When I receive my certificate I can apply it to the sailing. They will take the taxes and port fees out of the $500 and refund the balance. Thanks for your help!!
  21. I just hit prime on our last sailing. If I book a cruise now and apply the certificate when I receive it will they refund the deposit? I'm guessing maybe I should book a refundable deposit?? Thanks for any advise.
  22. Thanks for the info! I was hoping for a cover band. We seen Bon Jovi in the Music Hall on Ovation. They put on a great show. Enjoy the rest of your sailing! We will be the happy faces boarding on Saturday.
