Very true! One problem today is people video everything. You see police talking to someone and its being recorded by a dozen bystanders or even a street fight where those watching are out with their phones live broadcasting it on social media. Gone are the good old days when you could stick the head on someone and not have to worry about the old bill turning up at your door next day lol Nowadays they turn up 6 months later having trolled through hours of footage. This is why security of any kind have a very hard job...what is the definition of reasonable force? Given the fact its their livelyhood a lot of these people are probably scared to get stuck in as they may think it could result in them being dismissed if its taken further then there are others who be it at sea or on land are just not suitable for the job.

I know a few guys from Philippines who are not that big in height but they know how to look after themselves, and as i keep telling my dearest wife size isnt everything One of the issues nowadays is you cannot just lamp someone even though they do it to you first! Its all about talking them down, being their friend etc because if security is seen to be to hands on they can end up in court.

Lol yeah the jet lag will be kicking in now There's a 711 ( tesco express ) to your right on leaving The Savoy ( about 100 yards up the street ) also a sainsburys near McDonald's to your left if you need anything. Don't worry about all the homeless people you see in area! There is a church on the strand where they meet outside everynight to get free meals and haircuts, we never had or witnessed any issues with them. Also the city of london Bicycles you see are FOC for about 40 mins. You insert card and as long as bicycle is in another location with time you are not charged. Great way to get about London for nothing ( yeah thats the tight scotsman in me coming out )

Welcome It's a shame you didn't find this blog prior to your sailing! If you had then you would have been able to read posts some months old by seasoned cruisers highlighting some of the issues you raise ie shows being cancelled or changed due to crew shortage or crew in isolation. I would imagine if you had joined earlier and read about this you may have decided not to cruise.

If you want to stay incognito then watch out for the TV camera's! We have a show in UK simply called "The Savoy", it's a behind the scenes series on everything Savoy... it's because of this show i will never stay there lol please dont ask me 20 times how my food is when im trying to eat Looks a fantastic hotel and im sure you will enjoy, great location for all sightseeing which are walkable. Make sure you go to Covent garden at night ( leave savoy cross street and go up side street into covent garden ) nice place to chill, grab a meal or drink and people watch.

Given the fact most if not all posts are negative it would be corporate suicide for RC to do this off their own backs! However it has crossed my mind that it could be an employee of a competitor! Bad mouth the competition so people don't use them. Or it could be someone who prefers the CC style of blog and wants to post negatives then sit back and watch the conflict unravel! I mean they may even use another main account to comment on the one their fake account posted just to keep any arguments going. Or last option is it's @Mattcreating accounts to get the 20k followers quicker
