  1. All I can tell you is what happened...believe what you will...but I can tell you if you drink 3 margaritas on a cruise, that's the same as 3 margaritas at chili's? Guess my liver just works better on vacation. Seriously though, I sat there and watched the whole thing...I tried my wife's (bought) drink and it was much different than what she was drinking before. And yes...it does make sense. Control the amount of alcohol, keep those (possibly many) that will over indulge in check, keep the family friendly cruise theme intact, save money and maybe more importantly space on the ship. I am not saying they water down the bottles....when I wanted a straight boubon, I notice it came off the shelf...a mixed drink the bottles were under the counter. I never looked, noticed or even thought about it until the gentleman I met on the cruise " tipped" for the good stuff. Is there another explanation? Possibility, and I would consider it, if it were presented, but after this experience and watching closely...the pieces fit. That being said, if you purchased a drink package and felt the need to get hammered...it is all you can drink. Even watered down I am sure you can get there if there is a desire. But watered down drinks actually make the drink package more desirable since you need to drink more in order to feel any effect. Just saying.
  2. Ampurp85, interesting point but your logic is a little flawed. First, I never mentioned you or your statement in any of my rebuttals, therefore I never stated that you called me a liar. My first cruise was pre-covid, my second cruise was scheduled pre-covid as well. It was canceled at the beginning of this "pandemic". In the end we were canceled multiple times and had to reschedule to May 1st of this year. Accordingly, the vast majority of information emanating from the cruise industry was that "normal" was returning. That being said it is irrelevant. I am the customer and if you are offering something other than what is advertised it needs to be clearly stated so the customer can make an informed decision. The problem arises with expectations. I expect to receive what I paid for...truthfully, if I was warned by the Industry or more specifically RC about the possibility that their offering might be limited due to covid issues, I might be more prepared and lower my expectations and dealt with the change. As noted the Aqua theater was not even scheduled...yet as Pattycruise stated the performers were there and practiced. Based on those who accused me of lying and went on the following week's cruise, I assume there was a show the next cruise. So based on this knowledge, covid was not the issue. Cats was scheduled but canceled due to performers illness...funny we jump to assume it was covid. It was not. I do know what the issue was and I hope the performer gets the help they need...but it was not covid. Again, we must stop blaming failures on a pandemic that has largely been an non- issue for most of 2022. In May of 2022...the only "limitation" was the vaccine requirement. All other restrictions were removed. Nothing on the ship was reduced, altered or limited...it was fully staffed. The failures here are 100% RC's. Yes, I went to have a "pro" time and expected as such. My post is simply to share my experience and suggest that if you, as a customer should, expect what you paid for...it might be best to wait for RC to try to get its show together. I did not frequent this site and this is my first post after signing up today. If I purchased a new car but had to wait for it to be built (for whatever reason) I would understand if when it arrived it was missing a floor mat. Forgivable and fixable...Now if it arrives without a steering wheel, it was not what it was billed and we have a problem.
  3. ChessE4...that is great advice I think...we sailed in the Anthem and LOVED it...thought bigger was better and discovered that might not be the truth. It is just a struggle...we thought cruising was a great value after our first cruise (food was always good, staff was always amazing), but after our second (maybe we just expected too much), we just are not sure. We are not made of money and do not have weeks upon weeks of time off so we really value our vacations...this experience was just rough in the end because so many thing did not happen that we expected would be included. In time we might give it another shot but this experience is still a little raw...
  4. Thank you Pattycruise for your honest reply. As I stated...the highlighter was just ridiculous...have the fun be the prize. As I also stated, this was only our second cruise. We did rely heavily on the app. Maybe that was our mistake...we kept trying to schedule laser tag and then the times would change to our " My time dining " or just disappear so we never got to do them. My wife and I did see the comedians for the 18+ show...you will see on day 7, the same comedians for the " family show"...Rick D'elia came right out and stated they were asked to do the show and he would do his best but he does adult comedy. As I originally stated that so many have accused me of lying...no Auqa show (we did not know of a rehearsal...glad someone got to enjoy it since it was posted nowhere)...No Cats...so now My experiences were confirmed, I just must be lying about the Drink package issue.
  5. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Gam5JQhSl6E Just in case you question me....go to the 5 min mark of this video...this cruise review confirms...NO AUQA SHOW. Cats was scheduled (this review was recorded on day 2 per the OP...Cats was canceled on day 3 for the rest of the cruise due to performers injury we were told)....But I am a liar...
  6. Wow...really....at the 1:52 mark of the video there is a picture of people waiting to get on the boat. Under the arrow sign you can see me and my family as we wait. Not sure why I need to convince you that I am telling you about MY experience but hey....you all probably work for RC and just bad mouth people who did not have a great experience. I do appreciate those responses that are not rude or accusatory. And YES, JasonOasis...there was NO Aqua theater scheduled...they tried to have PHOENIX perform there on one night but couldn't get the sound right. Just out of curiosity, why would I make this up? For what benefit? Sorry we did not have a great experience on this cruise...I guess I am sorry too for sharing. Glad salty law dog`s cruises were all perfect, glad I can make you laugh, Jason Oasis and ALT D, if you were on the May 1st cruise then you didn't watch Cats...I guess later In May RC figured it out and I am happy you saw the show. Just because you got to experience it doesn't mean others did.
  7. Wow....interesting....first time post and I am a liar...get corrected by an English teacher, and yeah...would have been nice to find this blog a long time ago, but I didn't. Never thought going on a cruise was for me as I am not often a people person. I assume most people are...well...not very nice. Thanks for the confirmation. The cruise was on May 1st and I was told by the staff it was the maiden voyage out of NJ. If that was Incorrect ....sorry. And yes SPS.....The comedians were asked to do the same shows....on the way back the seas were very rough and you can feel free to check other blogs as I did....as a matter of fact... here is a review of the cruse we were on......enjoy.
  8. Hey all...I am new here but wanted to share my families experience on a recent cruise out of Port Liberty. It was the Oasis' maiden voyage out of NY (NJ). This was was only our second cruise and we really loved the first one but this one was so frustrating, IF we do cruise again on RC, it will not be for a long time...The issue was that there was essentially no major entertainment on board. Many of the scheduled things would fill up, but then disappear from the RC app...even if you were signed up. They kept moving times and canceling events. There was NO headliner show...they canceled "Cats"...there was NO show scheduled for the Aqua theater at all. We were able to catch some great music by Phoenix but they just kept rescheduling the same band because they had nothing else. They had 2 good comedians but they asked them to do a "family" show because they did not have another act to offer ( the comedian admitted he was asked to do it and warned the audience that it might not be that good because he does "adult stuff"). We did some trivia stuff which was fun during the day ( the prizes were highlighters by the way...embarrassing!!! Just say good job and let the fun be the reward). Maybe this was all due to covid (I don't buy it) but at least admit it. I did contact RC and they said "sorry". We had been looking forward to this trip for almost 3 years due to the need to reschedule due to covid....only to live on a floating restaurant for 7 days. Oh, and the adult drinks are 100% watered down FYI. Another passenger stated he threw a bartender a 20 and asked for a real drink....bartender pulled a separate bottle from under the counter and made a "real" mohito for him and my wife and it was VERY different. After a while it all made sense...water it all down so passengers don't get plastered...fine....but don't charge me 800 for 2 drink packages that are mostly filler. Let me be responsible. Sorry for rambling and I am sure many will see this post and attribute it to too high of expectations, but for a cruise line that wants the boat to be the destination...they sure failed. I am not sure I want to visit again. God Bless All and Happy 4th of July.
