  1. On the Ovation in March I noticed a few of the shore excursions dropped so re-booked those.

Refreshments back to around $21 in conversion rates including gratuity so don't think they will go any lower. Booked one device at around $12.75 as cheapest it has been to date.

The Ultimate Dining Package is the one I am unsure about! Read Matt's article and I am very tempted. https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2017/07/11/royal-caribbean-ultimate-dining-package-costs-and-review

Costs for UDP are - 10 day cruise = £258.72 (approx $345 or $34 per person per day), 3 day cruise is £55.44 ($74 or $25 pppd) and 14 day cruise is same cost as 10 day one (go figure!) at also around $25pppd.

I am in two minds - just do the 3 day one so we get to sample Chops/Wonderland etc in the middle OR say what the heck and go for the 14 day package.

    Expert opinions welcome!!

I am tempted to go for the 14 day option...maybe need somebody to convince me!!

  2. Hi all

Thanks for this thread - prompted me to check my options ahead of BF and CM sales for the 3 x Ovation cruises in March.

Refreshment package is back down to £15.96, which is what it was about a month ago, so no need for me to change that (yet!) but did book 1 Voom device package as that has reduced for the first time since I started checking a few months ago.

Means I now have 27 days with internet which will be useful so I can at least check the house is still standing with my sons left in charge!

  3. @F1guynz thanks for this.

Strange thing is I have managed to book North Star and Rip Cord for all 3 sections of the cruise plus Pixels for the NZ part but Pixels is not showing for the taster section nor Sydney to Singapore!

I have booked the All Access tour for the 3rd cruise and it was also listed for the middle cruise but not listed for the 1st! All very confusing this lack of consistency. I am sure there is a perfectly sensible reason!!

Enjoy your cruise next week and share the pros and cons!!!

  4. The only 'show' listed on Ovation for the 3 B2Bs I am on in March is Pixels, and only on cruise 1 so have booked that to feel like I have planned something!!

I would like to think it will also be on cruise 2 and 3 but if so can't understand why not listed.

Quick question - based on something I read somewhere on this vast encyclopedia of RC facts - if there are still none of the shows listed on the cruise planner before we go, will the funky Royal IQ app allow me to book when on board? I get the impression that is the kind of role it will play???!

Diolch yn fawr iawn (Google it if you want!)

My 23-Apr-2019 Sydney to Seattle 23N cruise on Explorer has been cancelled.

Looks like the are sending Explorer to Asia instead of the US for the southern winter of 2019 and Ovation will head for North America in its place.

Ovation will sail Sydney to Honolulu on 19-Apr-2019 then Honolulu to Vancouver on 4-May-2019.

I suspect this will upset a lot of people who, like me,  got great deals on the Ovation repositioning cruise to Singapore and Explorer repositioning cruise to Seattle (sold out in several categories) during the birthday sale since they have lost such a great deal. My 23N was discounted from $10500 AUD to $7000 AUD so only $152 per night per person.

RCCL are offering a cruise credit of 20% of the booked fare if we take one of the two Ovation sectors or a 10% credit for any other cruise so long as a booking is retained.

Apparently the new Ovation sailings will be on sale 12-Dec-2017.

Sorry - misread the thread and totally missed the point of the post - my bad. That's a bugger that they can change things like that.
