  1. Start a log or spreadsheet with all FCC details. Cruises cancel and it can become confusing very quickly when FCC is partially used, shared with others, split across cruises, etc. Keep very detailed notes. Ask for a copy of the booking invoice before any FCC is applied and ask for a new copy of the booking invoice with each application of an FCC. You'll thank me later.
  2. A 3rd enhancement which is fantastic deals with residual FCC. In the past if an FCC was larger than a future cruise the left over or residual FCC would become available once the first cruise where the FCC was applied was completed. You had to sail on the cruise then wait for the residual FCC to become available. Now, supposedly once you apply an FCC any residual or surplus FCC will be issued in the form of a new FCC with a unique FCC number a month or so after applying the FCC to the first booking. You don't have to wait to sail any more.
  3. At the same time they also started allowing "stacking" of FCC. in the past a booking could only have one FCC applied. Now you can apply multiple FCC to one booking in case one FCC isn't large enough to cover the future cruise.
  4. In the U.S. the answer is yes. As of sometime in late January or early February there were a number of FCC enhancements implemented and sharing was one of them. In the interest of full disclosure I haven't tried to use solo FCC and share it with other guests booked with me on future cruises so there may be nuances beyond the reports of what is now supposed to be allowed. In theory it should work. The U.K. is also a variable that I can't account for. From what I was told the system will apply as much FCC as it can for the named guest then any remaining FCC will then be applied to other guests. There are no granular controls such as only apply X amount to me or Y amount to that person. The system supposedly does the calculation and application. Please report back if attempted with the outcome.

  7. So you're the one who turned me away!!!! Don't you know I am a .... ?!?!?! Beautifilt city. I'm looking forward to getting back there one day.
  8. SCYSFA Doesn't really roll off the tongue very well.
  9. For my own piece of mind I contacted CAS and they confirmed it truly is double points. Double what you would normally get.
  10. I prefer inside cabins to avoid the potential for Russian space debris from hitting my balcony.
  11. I thought we had a deal? Now Canada wants to change the deal? Now what does Canada want?
  12. Cows have hooves because they lactose.
  13. Varies by date, but LOL... Gotta love Royal math. Same cruise, you pick your price, $549 on August 28 or $514 on August 28.
  14. I think you mean yy% because in the time it took to write this the CDC has already moved the goalposts 3 times.

  16. At this point the CDC won't even allow test cruises let alone cruises with paying guests using all of the CDC's best protocols. They won't even allow cruise lines to start thinking about having one ship in partial operation at reduced capacity. Normal cruising? What's that?
  17. I have frequently attended CAS Top Tier events on Royal cruises and I'm constantly reminded when they announce the numbers that the majority of the guests on most cruises are new to Royal. The second largest group by a large margin are Gold CAS members. Typically the 3rd group, Platinum are a big gap from Gold in terms of numbers and the trends continues from there. As a frequent cruiser and frequent poster on cruise forums it's easy to start thinking we represent the majority of cruisers but we don't. Most people only cruise once or maybe twice a year. Some only once every two years. When you start drilling into the numbers the double points promo really doesn't cause the CAS tiers to lean one way or the other in a significant way.
  18. Perhaps they think vaccines don't work as well as we all hope. It's the only plausible explanation.
  19. I highly doubt they will add more tiers to the CAS. It already has a few more than some others in the industry. To a large degree for the average Royal Caribbean customer this promotion will get them back to where they would have been. There will be some on one side of the bell curve that will realize a higher gain but there will also be some on the other side of the bell curve that realize a loss from the pandemic. The Diamond Plus level has long included a series of minor bumps in perks at different stages between 175 and 700. It's a long haul from 175 to the next level but as you continue to advance the little extra perks are there at specific points. The biggest single level up that most cruisers will ever experience remains Diamond and the double points promo will go a long way to having this tier reach the numbers it would have without a worldwide pandemic.
  20. While government contracts are easier to review and research I don't know that any private company is required to disclose their supply chain logistics. I'm also not aware of laws or regulations that govern private companies with respect to how they select vendors and suppliers. Perhaps you should contact the cruise lines on social media and inquire with them directly.
  21. Yes. Take what you would normally get and double it.
