  1. I wonder how that would price out now with Always Included?
  2. The reason I brought up the DX is to illustrate the things people on world voyages don't buy on board. With these types of revenue missing they have to adjust cruise fares higher to cover all costs. Keep an eye out when ships move between regions. When Mariner came back from Asia she had several inter-region cruises to get here from there. The danger is when Royal cancels one in the middle leaving a gap in your well laid out plans. For now the Australia to Hawaii to Vancouver (or reverse) is a popular choice for a longer voyage.
  3. Can't find all of my pictures but are some from various trips. These are taken from the area where the pink and yellow circles overlap in the previous post. There is a walkway behind these cabanas. There are also stairs or a ramp to the beach and/or water. The picture I can't find is for the non-water cabanas that are behind me and to the right from where I took the first picture above. The non-water cabanas have a concrete wall between them and a sidewalk that is used by the general public. (see pictures in the blog link posted above)
  4. The auto train is unique and there are some good reviews of it on Youtube. Too bad this isn't offered in other regions, it is kind of cool.
  5. You think drink fatigue is a thing on a 12 night transatlantic? This represents a whole other level of drink fatigue.
  6. I think supply and demand concepts don't track well once you get away from mass market in any market. Specialty or boutique anything can have their own pricing dynamics. A significant amount of revenue comes from onboard purchases but on super long voyages who is going to buy the 245 night drink package? At the current sale price that would be around $17k per person. ?
  7. Ah, the UK website. We'll have to wait for some of our UK users to comment on air included for UK guests. That's rarely an option from the US except for SilverSea cruises.
  8. The map of Labadee illustrates the differences. Full map here: https://creative.rccl.com/Sales/Royal/Private_Destinations/14039222_Labadee_Map.pdf In the yellow circles below are Nellie's overwater cabanas. In the pink circle below are the "standard" Nellie's cabanas that have public beach and a public walkway between the cabanas and the water. Both are labelled "31" but are not the same.
  9. The overwater cabanas at Nellie are much like the overwater cabanas at Barefoot beach. You have direct water entry. The other cabanas at Nellie's do not have direct access to the water but may have beach or a walking path between your cabanas area and the water. It's like buying waterfront property where one property may be literally right on the waterfront versus another property that has a road between your house and and the waterfront. In both cases your view is to the water but in one case there is potentially traffic between you and the water and a road you need to walk across. I have photos of the two but am having trouble finding them. Until I do... First let's try this: https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2016/09/21/photo-tour-of-the-beach-cabanas-nellies-beach-labadee
  10. We've seen some neighboring islands require proof of vaccination to accept evacuees from the volcano in St. Vincent. So what happens when countries on a cruise itinerary require proof of vaccination for cruise guests once cruising resumes? If cruise lines operating from Florida can't ask guests for proof of vaccination how does a cruise line inform a country on a cruise itinerary if guests are in compliance with the vaccine requirement for that country? Or do they leave it up to that country to establish a checkpoint on the pier to reject and send them back to the ship anyone doesn't have a vaccine card?
  11. Welcome to the message boards. I don't think there is anything to be nervous about, they simply want to wait until the cruise is closer. The situation is changing weekly. More vaccinations will continue to improve the outlook. By waiting they can implement the minimal and best requirements based on the situation as it exists closer to the sail date.
  12. Can you provide the URL for the website where you saw this? Thanks.
  13. Welcome to the message boards! The Royal Caribbean Group of cruise lines operate different brands and in different regions. Some of those cruise lines include flights and transfers. Not all cruise lines within the Royal Caribbean Group of cruise lines include flights and transfers by the cruise line themselves but in many cases travel agencies will offer a cruise bundled with flights and transfers. It depends on region and cruise line.
  14. I've lived in a tourist beach town. The traffic and crowds are no fun. It changes the way you plan your day, avoiding traffic jams that would make a quick trip to see the dentist or shop at a store into a 2 hour affair to get home if you have to use a highway that will be jammed with tourists on a Friday or Sunday afternoon. If there is an accident forget it, don't think about going anywhere, just hunker down and wait until the damn tourists to be gone. I had a job that required I travel around the state. I'd plan my business meetings so I wouldn't be on certain roads coming home on certain days. Tourists are a pain in the *&#. Nothing would be nicer than to ban tourists from beaches so the local can enjoy them exclusively. Easy parking, no crowds. Perfect. Think of the savings to the environment if thousands of cars aren't blowing exhaust all over the place. What if Florida just banned all tourists? Then all the locals could enjoy beaches and amusement parks without the dang crowds. Perhaps Hawaii should ban tourists as well. Plus other touristy areas around the country. Ban all tourists or find ways to severely limit them so locals can enjoy their communities absent of crowds. Sorry to all the businesses and employees that will impacted, but locals should be able to exclusively enjoy their communities. This is the start of that effort.
  15. Having cleared committee, SB-426 has been placed on the special order calendar. Latest update: Placed on Special Order Calendar, 04/21/21 https://www.flsenate.gov/Session/Bill/2021/426/
  16. I was wondering why this frisbee kept looking bigger and bigger. Then it hit me.
  17. It's all an academic discussion. Like a professor in a law class walked into the classroom and said "Debate this concept".
  18. Welcome to the message boards. Few ships have them but they are great when you can get them. A small desk area with a simple stool rather than a chair. Bathrooms are nearly identical to regular cabins. Balconies are sometimes very deep. So much space for one person! Some on deck 6 can be more obstructed depending on ship. One deterrent if it matters to you would be single Crown and Anchor points. Right now there is a double points promo so if you are booking a cruise before the end of June 2021 that will sail before the end of Sept. 2022 you qualify for double points but normally studio cabins only receive single points. Youtube videos: This next one isn't a studio balcony cabin but it does show you what kind of obstruction is present for select deck 6 studio cabins.
  19. The easy ones are deck 11 and 12 forward. When the ship was first built there were no cabins on deck 11 or 12. The cabins on deck 12 forward were added before the amp. The cabins on deck 11 forward of the solarium were added during the amp. On decks 8 & 9 between the aft staircases are some new interior cabins added during the amp. There are few others here and there on their own. Personally I like deck 11 and 12 because it's very easy to the upper decks and an easy walk over to the Windjammer and the Crown area.
  20. Keep in mind some new cabins have been added to Navigator. Just prior to the amp some cabins were added then during the amp more new cabins were added. They are like staying in a brand new cabin. If it really concerns you look for some of the newer cabins. Personally I don't have an issue with any cabin on this ship but to each their own.
  21. Somethings were refreshed like carpet and upholstery covers. They did not gut the cabins or replace desks, cabiners, wardrobes, bathrooms, etc. Take a look at the pictures in this thread and judge for yourself. https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/boards/index.php?/topic/11143-navigator-mar-1-2019-9-nights-southern-caribbean/
  22. I know a lot of jokes about retired people but none of them work!
  23. Actually cruises will start 8-12 months after herd immunity is achieved. The CDC runs on an 8 - 12 month delay so they will keep cruising shutdown well after the emergency is over.
  24. This post contains some menus from around the ship including La Patisserie. https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/boards/index.php?/topic/17677-anthem-jan-5-2020-11-nights-southern-caribbean-recap/&do=findComment&comment=183160 The hours for La Patisserie appear to be 6am to 11pm for July in the UK according to the app. This is from sister ship Ovation and the cafe in the Esplanade AKA cafe Promenade.
