  1. Sorry if this is long but I had previously reverse engineered the booking formula for club royale rates and room upgrades so I could do some accurate vacation planning. The new rollout seems to have tweeked them a bit and I was wondering if anyone else had some answers. Pretty confident that the methodology is still accurate when upgrading to a stateroom room from a comp stateroom offer. RACK Rate of desired room - RACK rate of comp room yields RACK upgrade price. Take club royale discount off of that ( I had always received about 48% discount but I recently received a 60% discount on an upgrade to a GS on Harmony) then add taxes and fees and voila...Out of pocket cost. So, first question is....is 60% the new normal? Second question is, when using the trade in value instead of the COMP room (assume when the COMP is limited to a specific sailing). Is the trade in value subtracted before or after the casino rate is applied. Since the trade in value is normally well below the COMP stateroom value I think it is applied after the casino discount....I don't know. Any help is appreciated.
  2. After every club royale booking, i seem to receive a survey. I always point out that a fully functional website that would allow members to “ghost book” to explore different options before ultimately booking online would probably save them money in the long run. And that was before club royale reservation line started having 30 minute minimum wait times
  3. Thanks..tried that earlier today..they said their system was down and call them back tomorrow. Hard to pass up a Com JS son oasis class
  4. Just curious if anyone experienced this before. Received a mailer offer yesterday for a comp Junior Suite on Allure for St Paddy’s Day. Did a ghost booking to see what cabins they had at 8pm and the RC website showed zero inventory. Why push an offer with such minimal inventory ...just to frustrate their audience? Or does CR sometimes fence off cabins not available on the generic website? Called CR today and their whole system is down.
  5. Couldn’t figure out how to attach a file to a private msg...here are the offers from my FCC from Oasis in December
  6. Gotcha...assume ur a Noir then. If ur that experienced with the Vegas perks, i would definitely go grand suite to enhance your cruise experience.
  7. Just a bit confused, i thought MLife offers were limited to 5 day cruises. That’s great if they let you apply the value to a 7 day Allure trip. My experience has been that the best deals are when u upgrade from a cop offer..like u r doing. Also, my experience has been a baseline room to a junior suite is a 100% increase, and a junior suite to grand suite is another 100% increase. So i would say ur getting a double upgrade for the price but only you can determine the “value” of the GS. More room with 3 people, coastal kitchen lunch & dinner, suite lounge for mom and dad every night (can’t beat the view). Personally, i nominally assign a value of $100 per person per night as a good value. So by the information u presented ur getting 21 cruise night for ~$2k which is what i would call a good deal for ur vacation dollar. Enjoy your trip
  8. Similar question..does anyone know if you receive the Eat Drink Play perks if you booked via Club Royale since sometimes they consider that an exclusive group rate and exempts them from any additional promos?
  9. I have used my MLife platinum status before. Casino host awarded me 10?drink tickets and if i needed any more i could go back and get more. The $200 obc was a nice perk worse thing is if you have independent status with both programs (MLife and club royale) they won’t allow you to cross streams...can’t updrafts a comp MLife room with a club royale discount rate . Uggh
  10. Anyone familiar with the mechanism for activating the club royale Voom discount? Pre cruise? Also, can u combine it with a Crown and Anchor (Diamond plus) discount?
  11. The club royale rewards year runs from April 1 to March 31 of each year.
  12. I had a bad experience on Enchantment (likely due to the casino host not being that skilled) so I monitored by tracking closely on my next cruise on Independence. 4 hours of craps at ~$100 roll (not including the odds bet) yielded 193 points. 1 hour of slots (casino doenst really have high limit machines) I earned over 970 points. Bottom line: play slots if you want to improve your loyalty standing. That said, if you are losing, I do believe the table tracking system allows the ability to for the pit boss to bump you up since they can easily track your buy-in and walking money.
  13. Not uncommon to get free balcony cruises but requires lots of play...and it’s easier to earn credit with slots than table games. unhappy with my last host on Enchantment when i only earned a $400 cert. i monitored my rating more closely on my most recent Adventure of the Seas Cruise. First night, 3 hours at the craps table, 100 per roll and i only earned 179 points. 1hour of slots i earned 900 points.
  14. It was the smallis 1 br aqua theater suite on deck 14 if i remember right. Sky class not Star class for that suite.
  15. When my wife and I were Diamond and our kids were not, the kids did not get diamond privileges. Different cabin/same street address.
  16. Similarly, i received a call once to upgrade from a JS to a 1br Aquatheater Suite for $300 total about 2 weeks before sailing. Jumped at the opportunity.

  18. Lots of action on this topic, here’s the latest.. ”Someone just heard back from Royal - They are keeping the double points for suites. I just received this message from RCIThanks for your patience, Mary. After reviewing the policy, we've decided our Casino Royale members will still receive double points when upgrading. I do apologize for the frustration this may have caused, and please know, we greatly appreciate your loyalty. -Val”
  19. FYI to all the gamblers...being reported on that other site that Crown and Anchor will no longer ( effective 4/15) award double loyalty points for cruises in suites on a casino certificate.
  20. September 9...and the total was $1372. @tonyfsu21 i was convinced that host was incompetent. I always get a free cruise cert and he provided me a $400 off cert. I didnt care about the discount but i am/was concerned he impacted my tier qualification
  21. A brief update for all....I was on the phone with Club Royale today to price/book another cruise. Since the program is in transition, Anna and I talked about lots of the changes. She did tell me that people are being notified on a rolling wave of their new tier status. She looked at my profile to see what offers I had available and could see that my new tier status had not been entered so the rolling wave had not caught me yet. She also confirmed that GS and above should not be given the Casino rate, but only the promo rate that is currently in play, but under the new rules you can combine Crown and Anchor discounts with Casino discounts. On the personal good news I was looking to combine an email offer of a free interior, a casino certificate worth $1000 for me, and another for $500 for my wife on Oasis this September. Unfortunately, she couldn't use my email offer and certificate together...but she did get me the casino rate instead of the promo rate. In the end, she came in below my estimate and we got a Crown Loft Suite in September for 7 days for under $1400 and I still have my $1000 certificate to use on another sailing this year. So, the program still has some really good perks, if you ask the right questions and get a host that will work with you. Enjoy.
  22. I too had been told it would be an 18 month look back to determine new program status. if it helps, my experience has been that the host on Enchantment is the worst of all the Casino Royale hosts i have encountered. Disembarked Indy on Mar 28 with a free balcony cert and had free drinks/waived fees the entire time.
  23. Hope someone can help..new website issue. Trying to modify wife’s Crown and Anchor profile to select welcome aboard gift for next cruise. Can’t seem to find where to do it since the website redesign. Lost functionality?
