  1. @monorailmedic, I saw the prices for the Eastern and Western cruises for beginning of 2019. It may be too costly by the time the new deployment comes out, I agree with you, although I looked at RC Symphony too and it's very expensive ( I have booked suites in the past, they are too expensive on that one too). I got such a great deal on the Equinox, couldn't pass it up! I also heard rumors they want to put the Edge based in Australia too so all this may be a moot point! LOL!!
  2. Very Interesting. I'm on the Equinox in January 2019 and April 2019, so I'm hoping she isn't one of them starting first! (although I would like a refreshed ship!) Am hoping to get on the Edge later that year, but she's brand new so I should be good. Thank you for the update!!
  3. Congratulations! This is such a fantastic group, so happy I found you all!!!
  4. @Razerbkfan, I actually googled it and on the RCCL website, it does say you can use OBC for the Casino, unless it's old information, which it could be. Perhaps @Matt could answer. Also said on Celebrity effective 2015 you can use it too. I trust matt more than any website! LOL Thank you!!
  5. Wow @WAAAYTOOO, alot to absorb. I know I don't have any points etc as the last time I was on a RC ship, it's now Scrap metal somewhere (Song of America!) and now I'm dating myself. I am going to check it out in May, and in fact will be on the Grandeur, so I like the idea of the smaller ship getting to know the Casino Manager staff etc. We are not big gamblers, but I love to gamble, just have to make sure I don't have any cocktails while doing it! LOL!! I so appreciate your feedback and advise. Thank you!!!
  6. Was wondering on RC and Celebrity can you use OBC for the Casino? I know @WAAAYTOOO may know. Also, I saw alot of information earlier about casino vouchers or something like that? How much do you have to generally gamble before you start getting points or whatever it is? Thank you in advance for any input!! Lorraine
  7. Thanks so much Twangster! It's so frustrating but the more I think about it, unless it's a real sale I might not bother. We are in a Suite, so we have Concierge, and I will have about $400 OBC too by the time we sail. But again, I also don't want to think about that 4th bottle of water that I drink all day either!
  8. HI @cajunman14 @Matt has the pricing and what beers on his blog https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/royal-caribbean-drink-prices Others may be able to answer you about the craft beers but I don't see any listed on the Beer list (unless you consider Coors Light!) KIDDING!!!
  9. LOL you sound like me!! I drive my travel agent nuts!!! LOL you sound like me! I drive my travel agent absolutely nuts!!
  10. HI Sabrina, I'm curious, maybe you know or @twangster if you do see the sale on the beverage package how long does it usually stay on Cruise Planner, in case for whatever reason you don't sign in everyday.
  11. Thank JCE2, that is helpful information. I looked last night and I'm 209 days from sailing, so I will wait! Very very helpful! thank you!!!
  12. OMG, 200K and losing them!! I'd be really unhappy with that!! LOL!
  13. Just checked my expiration for the current points and it says 9/2022 ???
  14. Thanks rjac, I'm going to check into that too. I'm beginning to think you get screwed no matter what! LOL!
  15. Ok, I have a stupid question. Can you use your ON BOARD CREDIT toward drink purchases?? Reason I ask is, I got the Celebrity Credit Card ( we re booked on 2 and so far one RC) and I am usingi t pay off the cruises and already have enough points for $200 OBC and have $100 from the booking itself on RC. With the CC, you automatically get 10,000 points (equal to $100 OBC) and when you go online to Bank of America you can see your points and switch between the 2 cruise lines for applying the points. I don't intend on using it for Shore excursion, maybe one, we like to do our own thing, perhaps dining. I don't need it for the Celebrity as we got all 4 perks when booking including Premium drink package so was wondering if just use what I have and not purchase the drink package on RC cruise.
  16. Honestly NJCRUISER, I think it will be mine too. You can just see so many islands and having worked for a Caribbean Hotel chain for years I was blessed enough to have seen most of them. I lived in Marblehead MA and got married there, so that is one stop would love to see Beantown again etc!
  17. This article is very helpful to just be a guide as to how to avoid those dreaded pounds!! We've all been there!! I plan on doing the half portions where possible and walking and walking! It's so hard to lose the weight to begin with and keeping it off is the trick! Good luch! https://www.cruisecritic.com/articles.cfm?ID=1517
  18. Hi Twangster! I"m on Grandeur in May, will this be the same menu by then?
  19. That does seem odd, as we are booked on a sailing to Bermuda, I wanted to know if we could change to a New England/Canada cruise (new date, new booking and more money) and RC said no problem! and our Bermuda booking is on a non-refundable basis. I would follow the others and call back again.
  20. Thanks so much elspeedo!! LOL, I decided to stick with original plans this year, on Grandeur to Bermuda and I'm hoping they have the same itinerary for Sept 2019. by then we would have exhausted most of everything we wanted to do. another reason, is we were looking at the May cruise and I thought up north it still might be a bit chilly at least north of Portland. We will take that trip, we got married in Marblehead and I lived there (Boston/Marblehead? but haven't been back in 6 year. I am looking forward to it if it works out! Thanks so very much!
  21. Wow!1 10 times!! Now I am more convinced we are doing the right thing. It looks like just what we want and Baltimore is so close for us. We are booked on 2 Celebrity Cruises in 2019, but wanted to add one more for 2018. I like just cruising, bermuda is just the added bonus. Thanks so much Sweety!! Lorraine
  22. You just convinced me even more! We are like you, we don't need the bells and whistles either, we like to relax, read, have a few cocktails that's about it! Thanks so much Mark!! Lorraine
  23. It really is one of the gems. I thought you would say what you did, but wanted your opinion just in case and I take it you really like the Grandeur too? I like the size of the ship as well. I think I'm going to book 5 night again for July for our anniversary! Thank you so very much!!
