  1. I wouldn't worry about the issues in PR affecting your cruise to San Juan. Nothing indicates there's cause for concern in that regard.
  2. Unfortunately when I was on Navigator of the Seas, they were still working on those staterooms.
  3. You should contact concierge about 30 days before your cruise. Which ship are you on?
  4. Is the person receiving a gift a crew member? or a guest?
  5. I really enjoyed all 3 ports. Cozumel is a port I've been to so many times and I still love it. I really enjoy its "modern culture", which means shopping and eating. For a small island, there's a lot to do. When I went to Belize, we did a private island beach excursion which was fun, but next time I'd like to do something else. Probably some excursion more inland. Not sure what exactly, but it sounded like others had a lot of fun doing various activities there. Roatan was beautiful. We did a resort day pass excursion and it was fabulous. I had received a number of warnings about safety, so that tempered my desire to explore more than we did but hiring a private driver and going to the resort worked well for us. For Americans, both Belize and Roatan are relatively inexpensive ports (like Cozumel). Your money goes further here than in Grand Cayman or even Falmouth.
  6. I can spot two things that are new to me: scavenger hunts and Late Night Party Zone. But it's possible I just never paid attention that they existed before.
  7. The key is to get in line early, before the ship is ready to tender.
  8. That would be the exception (although you can pay for as many extras as you want). Otherwise, it's all included.
  9. Yes, you can order multiple entrees, appetizers and desserts at Chops
  10. Also, this blog post may be helpful: http://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2014/01/02/everything-about-royal-caribbeans-junior-suites
  11. Junior suites do not get any of the perks that other suites get. Essentially, a JS is a bigger balcony stateroom. It's not until you get to the Grand Suite or higher that you get suite perks and such.
  12. Likely you read my blog post that spoke of that. The good news is there is plenty of mai-tais and steel drum music to be found but you will notice a distinct country/Western motif onboard. Don't take this to believe you are going on a cruise where it's nothing but line dancing, banjos and people saying "yee-haw". We also cruised during February, which is certainly off-season and an older clientele that cruised. And I'd sign back up in a heartbeat because like you, I liked the route for the different ports.
  13. It's not a cheap drink to make at home. My wife reminds me of that everytime I want to buy the stuff to make some.
  14. Royal Caribbean posted a thing about its Dreamworks Summer Adventure, which sounds like they are doing something new and different: http://www.creative.rccl.com/Sales/Royal/Dreamworks/15044680_DreamWorks_Experience_Flyer.pdf The thing is, I can't figure what, if anything, is actually different than what has traditionally been offered onboard. Does anyone see something that I am not?
  15. On Royal Caribbean, the kids club is called Adventure Ocean and it's a wonderful program. I've gotten a phone some times and other times not. But you can always call and inquire how your child is doing from any of the phones. Thankfully I've never encountered a problem where my daughter wanted to leave (just the opposite, in fact).
  16. First, I apologize for the increased spam lately. I have some safeguards but this spam appears to be human generated (instead of a script somewhere) and there's not much we can to prevent it. The report feature does help. It certainly gets me a heads up when it appears.
  17. Here are some recent wifi package prices: http://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2015/06/16/royal-caribbean-wifi-internet-what-you-need-know
  18. Occasionally they will be available for rent online via the Cruise Planner but most times it's suites only.
  19. The cabanas are available to suite guests. If you aren't a suite guest, you will need to go to the shore excursions desk as early as possible on your first day and put your name on the wait list.
  20. Is it practical to drive across the border and take a flight from the US?
  21. Wow, that is a lot. I paid $75 pp back in 2011. I'm not sure I could justify that price. Then again, it was the best all-inclusive resort I've been to.
  22. Yes, it's an excursion you have to sign up for and it costs money ($95 per person). You can book the excursion in advance online or onboard your ship.
