Nancymc
If we book an excursion on cruise planner can we cancel it once we are on board? Am thinking that after we board that we might find out some of the excursion will be easily doable and less expensive to do using independent tour operators at the ports. On Princess we had 24 hours before event to cancel with no penalty. Thanks

It will take at least 7 business days and a max of 10 business days for the price of the excursion that was cancelled to be refunded back to you credit/debit card. You should also google how much the excursions that you want to do at the destinations that your cruising to as well as checking on the cruise planner so that when you go to the independent tour operators and pay for the tour at the port so that you are not paying to much for that excursion/tour. twangster
It used to be 24 hours but last year (I think) they changed it to 48 hours. It's addressed in the "Additional Terms and Conditions" notation at the bottom of the cruise planner when booking: "Shore Excursions can be modified or cancelled up to 48 hours prior to tour port arrival without penalty. Tours involving flights, trains, special events, overnight stays, hotel stays and Private Journeys must be cancelled 30 days prior to sailing to avoid cancellation penalties. " Note that is 48 hours prior to arriving in the port, not 48 hours prior to the excursion. If you arrive in Nassau at 7am, then you have to cancel two days before prior before 7am. Perfect Day has it's own conditions now. "These terms do not apply to Perfect Day at CocoCay activities; see Perfect Day at CocoCay activities-specific terms and conditions below. The following terms apply to Perfect Day at CocoCay activities only. Prices Reflect Savings. Perfect Day at Cococay activities are subject to availability. Meal and/or beverages are provided only if specified. Guest may cancel purchase(s) made via Cruise Planner up to forty-eight hours prior to the cruise departure date." It seems stops at Cococay conditions were written for the 3/4 night cruises but for a 7 night cruise that stops at Perfect Day the same applies now so it's very different from other excursions. Matt
@twangster is correct, the cancellation window is now 48 hours. But yes, you can cancel onboard with sufficient notice.
