Baked Alaska
We are booked on the Dec 2019 Eastern Caribbean Holiday Cruise. Christmas day will be in St. Thomas. What will be the difference between this Eastern Caribbean 7 nighter and other, non-holiday cruises? Just listened to the podcast episode on the New Years Eve sailing out of Galveston on LOS. WAAAYTOOO
We love Holiday cruises and do one nearly every year. Truthfully, there isn't a whole lot of difference except that the ship will be nicely decorated and there will be a visit from Santa. They have a Holiday meal in the MDR (usually turkey and/or ham) and there will probably be some holiday-specific entertainment (they usually do a Christmas carol event which can be a lot of fun). Other than that, the cruise will be very similar to non-holiday cruises. We love them but they are a bit pricey in general.
Matt
Besides price, the primary difference is the celebration of a holiday during the cruise (i.e. special events)
Skigoofy
We were docked in St. Maarten this past Christmas. Like the others mentioned, there are lots of holiday theme activities onboard and the ship was beautifully decorated. You may find that some businesses will be closed in port. You'll have a great time. We had a blast on our Holiday Cruise.
