crooshow Posted September 22, 2017 Report Posted September 22, 2017 I will be cruising on Majesty of the Sea in October 2017 and I was wondering if power strip are allowed onboard, if so what kind. I have a UL listed power strip(not surge protected) that I use on Carnival that I would like to take. Quote
twangster Posted September 22, 2017 Report Posted September 22, 2017 Switched to RCI last year after a run of Carnival cruises. Policy regarding this is pretty similar. Execution of policy pretty similar. I only bring simple extension cords that have 3 outlets. A power strip, even without surge could appear to be a prohibited item on both lines. The security folks checking are not electrical engineers and will err on the side of caution. I once had a plain and simple extension cord confiscated on Carnival. Now I bring two, one in carry on and one in checked. Quote
whitsmom Posted September 22, 2017 Report Posted September 22, 2017 I just took a multiple USB charger so that I could charge my iPhone, iPad, and iWatch. I got mine on Amazon and there are many to choose from. I packed it in my checked luggage and did not have any issues. I didn't have anything else to charge so I am not sure about the other type of extension coil/power strip. Quote
