Sail909
Hi, This is our first royal Caribbean cruise. I'm a little confused about "My Time Dining" I selected a time when I booked the cruise. It shows 6:45-9pm Do I need a reservation as well, to eat in the main dining room? Is there a long wait around 6pm? Thanks!
SpeedNoodles
It is always a good idea to make a reservation. Yes, you can just show up, but you will probably wait longer. MyTime Dining usually doesn't open up until 6:45, so you would not have access at 6pm.
happy cruisers 2
We routinely do My Time Dining and we try to select the 6:45 option. This usually allows for adequate time to eat, with time left over, before going to an evening show. You do not need to make any other reservation for MTD beyond selecting your desired choice of time. Enjoy your cruise!
Sail909
Thanks for the replies! So, you don't think we'd have to wait long if we showed up at 645 without a reservation?

This will depend on the line without reservations and how many people actually made reservations. You could wait long even with a reservation. You say you selected a time. What did you choose? In our experience, if you chose 6:45, and you show up by about 6:40, you shouldn't have much of a wait. When we book our cruises on the RC web site and select MTD, multiple time slots show up for each day of the cruise, roughly during the times you've indicated (or something close to that), and you need to select one of them (day by day) for each day and add them to your cart. If I recall, they're every 15 minutes?

Eehhhhh.....6:45 seems to be a really popular time and there are lots of folks with reservations getting in so I don't know how fast the non-reservation line would go. That said, the reservation line is usually fully seated by 7 so I figure worst case, maybe a 15-minute wait?
Jenn G-MEI Travel
If you are seated by 7pm you can still make all of the late shows, I would not risk waiting until you are onboard if you want to have your evening free as you may not end up with MDR until 8.30 pm. It's best to choose the time in advance in the app and set your dining if you have My Time.
