Card transaction

Recommended Posts

Hello,

We are sailing on Wonder in October.  I am planning on taking cash on board for spending but curious to know if there are chargers for card transaction or ATM withdrawals assuming there is an ATM on board.

Long time viewer on YouTube, first time questioning.  I am big fan, appreciate the videos!!

You can't use cash on board for anything but the casino or tips.  You can set up a cash account on the ship but you would have to go to guest services.  Give them your cash.  Then you would use your seapass card to make purchases again the cash account you set up.

Yes, there are ATMs on the ship.  I believe they are in the casino most of the time.  No sure what the current fee is.

Welcome to the boards

On the ship the fee for ATM can be as high as $6 per transaction.

As stated, you can put cash down for your account, but your Seapass will be used for everything on the ship, even the casino. If you plan to do shore excursions, I don't know how much cash you plan to carry but, if possible, buy those beforehand as you will need the cash for taxis and tips. If it is a Med/European cruise, you might want to convert any cash at the hotel prior.

Have fun on your cruise!

Welcome to the message boards!

The ATM is operated by a 3rd party.  They make money by charging fees and your bank may also impose fees for using an out of network 3rd party ATM.  If the satellite connection is down the ATM won't operate.

On some ships like Adventure sailing from Galveston they warn you the ATM may be down while they sail across the Gulf of Mexico so don't assume the ATM will always be available when you need it.
