Testing for re-entry into Canada

Recommended Posts

With the border reopening being announced recently, I have a two questions:

1. I know Royal provides testing for kids and those who need one for re-entry. What day is this administered on a 7 night cruise? The Canadian gov needs it to be within 72 hours.

2. Is the test onboard a PCR or Rapid test? The Canadian gov needs it to be a PCR.

I've contacted Royal for my next cruise and they are providing me a PCR test for Canada travel at 7:30am on day 7.

Go to guest services once on board early in the cruise and arrange it.

Royal crew are from all over the world.  They deal with testing a lot just to get to the ship to work and to get home after their contract.  You are dealing with people who live and breath testing for international travel.  They know.

We were tested at 9:15AM and results were delivered to our stateroom at around 6:30PM

Since it's a 72 hour rule rather than a "how many days" rule, do you know if the 72 hours is counted when the test is administered, or when you receive your results?
