Bringing alcohol onboard

Can you bring alcohol onboard ship? I heard somewhere that you can bring a set number of cans/bottles in your luggage. Is this correct ?

2 bottles of wine or champagne (up to 750ml) & 6 cans of any non-alcoholic beverage that’s 17oz & smaller

But remember that's per stateroom, not per person. A solo traveler can take two bottles of wine. A group of 8 adults in a large suite can also take two bottles of wine.
