AJK
We are on Independence of the Seas in Dec for our first cruise. When we dock in Port Everglades at the end of the cruise, do we have to disembark at the time given? Our flight doesn't leave until 1pm and I wasn't aware of the (lack of) lounges at FLL. Can we just join the last group off? Thanks to all on this site, I have learned a ton of info so far.
KathyC
You can leave whenever you want during the disembarkation process. If you choose before your number is called, you run the risk of your luggage not being there yet. But since you're not in a rush, you're fine. At one point they will start calling names and force you off, LOL. Usually by 9-9:30 the latest. So won't help much with filling time. twangster
All guests have to be out of their cabins typically around 8am so they can start getting them ready for the next cruise. All guests have to be off the ship by around 9:30am. The ship must be at a zero guest count and all guests processed by US Customs and Immigration before the next cruise can begin to embark. There won't be much open or things to do on the ship, they want people to be motivated to debark.
FloridaCruiseGirl1210
We have this same issue as our flight isn't until 5. We plan on getting an uber or taxi to FLL and dropping our stuff at the luggage valet there and then going to the mall or maybe lunch and a movie.. mom2mybugs
We had an group 2 number but were headed to an Airbnb where we couldn’t check in until 12. We left our room at 830, got a last coffee and waited til they said “this is the last call for all passengers to be off the ship”...it was maybe 930. Our luggage was very easy to find in the terminal lol! Jane
