  1. Have a family member that is limited on mobility on 1 side of her body. The first part of this tour is the submarine. Says it has 10 vertical steps. Does anyone know if this is a ladder or something similar to a stair case? I'm truly hoping that we will be able to get her on board. Thanks for any and all information.
  2. Excited to celebrate our 15th anniversary & our oldest boy’s 6th birthday with our family of 4. Andrew (36), Ambere (35), AJ (6), and Alex (2). This will be Ambere & my second cruise and the first one with our boys. Our first one was a 4 day Bahamas on our honeymoon aboard Sovereign Of The Seas (RIP) in 2008. Excited to go back to Nassau & CocoCay & see Bermuda for the first time!
  3. Hey everyone! I am hoping to propose to my girlfriend this December during our cruise vacation. I was really hoping to do it at the Ocean Club Versailles Gardens near Nassau but after doing some research I found out they're pretty intense about the security and prevention passerbys from stopping in to see the gardens. I emailed the hotel they want $3,500 to come in propose!! Does anyone know of any sort of walking tour or excursion that may go there? Looking for some loopholes to make it happen. I have a solid 6 months to make something work so any tips would be greatly appreciated
  4. I will be traveling with my family to Nassau on Oasis in June. For some reason we don't pull into Nassau until 1ish. I have heard that Blue Lagoon can get pretty busy in the summer. Considering we would be getting there so late in the day, will we be able to find any shade? Additionally will it be so packed as to not be enjoyable?
  5. I'm going to have a cruise in less than a month to nassau-cococay, but my passport expires 5 months after the cruise ends, I'm from Peru and right now I'm not currently at my country so I don't have the chance to renew it, is there somebody who has already boarded the cruise without been denied? What are the chances of being denied?
  6. I’ll be stopping in Nassau for the first time in April and we wondering if there were excursions through RC anyone would recommend. Ideally I’d like something with a bus/trolly tour that doesn’t require a hike. I’m a history buff and a solo traveler, so no need for anything kid-friendly. I’ve heard less than great things about Nassau, but I’m not particularly worried about haggling (I’m a Philly sports fan, nothing scares me). Just wanted an excursion to learn a bit more about the area! Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated!
  7. Hey everyone, Just got off Oasis from the May 8th-May 15th sailing and We made a couple videos so far, still working on content. We have a trip preview on there, and a Shore Excursion review for the Nassau Sail and Reef Snorkel excursion
  8. Has anyone ever did the Nassau beach break and sightseeing excursion through Royal? It says it stops at a beach club and was wondering which one it is. Also costs of food and drinks.
  9. I am trying to find out more information on a cabana rental at the Fins Up Water Park at Margaritaville Nassau. Specifically pictures of the cabanas, location, number of loungers and any first hand reviews on the experience. The resort is relatively new, opening in summer 2021 and there are lots of videos and reviews on the water park in general but I can’t find much specific to the cabana rentals. I read the Royal Caribbean blog article on day passes at the park. I have been in touch with resort concierge and they couldn’t offer anything more than what’s in their marketing materials. The cost of the cabana includes 2 people but can accommodate up to 4 with extra guests purchasing a day pass to the water park. Any reviews would be appreciated.
  10. Hi all! We are looking for something away from the crowds in Nassau/New Providence and we both enjoy nature, so I'm wondering if hiring a driver to visit Clifton Heritage, Primeval Forest and/or Bonefish Pond National Parks is a realistic thing to undertake? I have no idea what that would cost, or how to go about finding a driver for a day in Nassau. I know taxis are common but that's a bit further than they probably want to go. Anyone have any experience with this or suggestions? Thanks! Primeval Forest: https://bnt.bs/explore/new-providence/primeval-forest-national-park/ Bonefish Pond: https://bnt.bs/explore/new-providence/bonefish-pond/
  11. Has anyone done a dolphin swim in Nassau they would like to recommend. So far looking at blue lagoon. Would be for 2 adults and 7 year old.
  12. It seems I was a bit slow to book the dolphin excursion I wanted to in Nassau. Only 2 spots left and we are 3. 1. Do you think they would let us get a third spot of I called? 2. If we book 2 dolphin and 1 stingray would we all get to be together for the rest of the day / transit besides the specific encounters?
  13. Wondering if anyone has been on the Nassau beach break and sightseeing excursion through Royal? What beach club does it go to and prices for food/drinks?
  14. We’re sailing in August and have just the stops in Nassau and Perfect Day. Was wondering if any of the people sailing in July were told if they needed the Bahamas health visa for the “day stops”. I’m “the planner” for our group of 7 and have warned everyone that it “could” be a requirement, but haven’t seen anything yet that tells me yes or no. I’m sure Royal will provide us information when they have it, but want to stay ahead of this since not all parties are will be traveling to Florida at the same time. Thanks. note: all parties are fully vaccinated
  15. As I previously stated our Air2Sea flight is late on the 12th, I think we are the last Bahamasair flight of the day. With this pressing time frame for a timely embarkation I also purchased the shuttle to the Hilton for check in from Air2Sea. I know I need to check in for my flight but is there a ticket or voucher I should have received for this shuttle? Has anyone experienced or used this shuttle service before? I wanted the protection of Air2Sea in case things run late. Thanks everyone!
  16. Apart from the excursions offered by RC, what else is available to do? So far, none of them really interest me. Is a walk to the Straw Market from the ship doable?
  17. We are booked on our first cruise leaving New Orleans on Majesty of the Seas August 29th. I hadn't bought any excursions yet and was getting ready to when this whole COVID thing started. (I wanted all the options to be available before I picked). Our cruise has not been cancelled yet and we are hoping it will stay that way. I just made the final payment and was thinking about booking some excursions. However, I haven't seen any cruise planner sales that I recall in months. Should I wait for a sale? Should I wait period until cruises start up again? Please help. I'm new and am worried. Things are very tight but it is our 5th anniversary and I want it to be as special as I can make it.
  18. Hi everyone! First time cruiser here (unless you count a cruise when I was 14 yrs old having everything booked by family). Bf and I are going on Oasis in May 2020 to port Canaveral, coco cay and Nassau. I have a few questions that I’m hoping can be answered. Thanks in advance! a. How are the clubs on royal Caribbean ships? (Or oasis specifically) Do they get pretty packed? How late are they open and is the music good? I have nyc clubs to compare it to in my mind b. At the clubs if we wanted tequila shots with the unlimited drinking package, how often could we get them or is there a specific time period we’d have to wait between each shot? c. Why is it impossible to find a drink menu for oasis anywhere? I want to make sure drinks I would want are included in the unlimited package. For example how much is a frozen pina colada? (A drink I see myself having a lot of) margarita? mojito? d. How does it work if we do not want to pay gratuity in advance? Our travel agent says on the last night of the trip they will put tip envelopes for cash in our room, is that how it actually works or is there another way to self pay gratuity? e. How does making my time dining reservations go? As well as theater and aquatheater reservations? f. For people who have been to the water park at coco cay and Atlantis, which is better? g. Any first time cruiser advice that you think is absolutely necessary? h. How are speciality restaurants on oasis? Interested in the bbq place and playmakers bar thank you all!!
  19. Hey guys! I will be going on my first cruise in October on Navigator of the Seas. We will be stopping in Nassau and I was looking at the shore excursions on the cruise planner site. I found a deluxe sailing excursion, it sounds great because my husband and I love sail boats and it sounds like a lot of fun. Have any of you ever done this excursion? If so, what do you think? Thanks, Nikki
  20. Hi! First time RC cruiser here. ? Hubby and I are taking our kids, 8 & 5, on their very first cruise in a couple of weeks - so exciting! We are going on the Mariner to CoCo Cay and Nassau. Since we are trying not to spend a ton of money, my mom offered to buy us the Essential Nassau shore excursion. Looking into it, though, I'm not sure it would be all that fun for the kids. Has anyone done this excursion? Is it good? Kid-friendly? I'm wondering if we would be better touring the island on our own for free. Any feedback / thoughts would be appreciated! ? Thanks!
  21. Hi. Please suggest non water activities that would be great while in Nassau. We will be going in February. We may do a food tasting tour and I would like to rent scooters. Any other cool suggestions, tips or warnings? 2 physically healthy adults traveling. Thanks
  22. So there it was... our 4 day Cuba cruise now changed to Key West and Nassau morphed again into a cruise to Nassau and we stay docked until 6pm the next day. As we stared at the paper announcement on our stateroom bed, it was just 100% disbelief. Granted we were only at Nassau once before and went straight to Segway around Blue Lagoon but Nassau is the place that people stay on board, complain about, and generally avoid. What transpired was a terrific two days there. First off we had already decided to take a tour bus exploration excursion to get an overview and some history. It was fast paced and covered a lot ground but most of all we noted places we wanted to visit in the afternoon. After lunch back at the windjammer, we walked to the Balcony House. It's the oldest wooden structure on the island. The tour was informative and free. From there we walked around that neighborhood reading history markers and slowly walking back down to the ship. A stop for ice cream on a second floor deck overlooking the harbor completed day one. Well, actually we ventured back out around 8 at night but most everything was surprisingly closed down. At no time did we feel unsafe or hassled beyond the typical vendors trying to get us into their stores on the main drag. Day two brought great weather so off to the local bus stop to grab the 10 or 12b bus that runs along the North shore of Nassau. The goal was to find a beach far enough away from the tourists and the beach peddlers. Mission accomplished with a half hour ride shared with locals going to work. Found a beach that started with just us there and topped off at about 12 other RC toting towel folks. It was 100% what we had wanted. The small bar had 5 dollar beach chairs, food and refreshments. It was more island charm than resort which fit us fine! Nassau wound up being a very pleasant surprise. Friendly locals, easy walking to historical sites, and an accesable public bus system to get you to the beach with some local flair! If we stop in Nassau again, which is a cruise ship given, we will no longer moan but look forward to creating an adventure.
  23. I'll be in Nassau with my wife later this month on a Saturday port stop (9/28). We've walked the areas near the port (shops, Queen's Staircase, Junkanoo Beach, Wattlings, Graycliffe, etc.) and were thinking of heading over to Paradise Island to check out that area. We like to explore. Any thoughts or recommendations? Taxi vs Ferry? Things to see / do? We weren't planning to do the water park or beach as we'll be at Coco Cay the next day.
