  1. That must explain why I need a bigger screen for my phone! ?
  2. I was just saying this to Hubby a few days ago. Either just before Christmas, or right after the holidays. My feeling is possibly right after the holidays.
  3. Thank you so much for posting this!!!! I must have missed the FB post that you were referring to. So glad that you posted this as I not only grabbed the Deluxe package on Anthem GC but also on two more sailings at the same low rate. Also I grabbed VOOM for two devices at $17.99 which I consider pretty good (for the sailing on Brilliance that doesn't include VOOM). Thank you!!!
  4. I think if you look at it from that perspective, then every time you step out of your house, with so many asymptomatic carriers out there, you have had "possible exposure", health care worker or non-health care worker.
  5. I have 5 booked, but then again I had 5 this year (2020) as well. Not a clue if I am going on any of them, but I sure hope so. Going to lose it soon lol.
  6. So hypothetically speaking, if this were true, where does this leave someone like me? Booked on an 8 night on Brilliance for July, would they just move me over automatically to the same category on Indy? Or would I be cancelled and then I have to rebook something else? I am really hoping this is not going to happen because I really wanted to sail Brilliance again. Haven’t been on her since 2005 and there are no corner grand suites on Indy. ?
  7. The galley tour is complimentary with SC. Cupcake, Sushi, and Guacamole (not sure if Anthem has this one) making classes are also included. Not sure how all this will be affected by Covid though. Depends what you want, who is in your party, and if mobility is an issue. Over the water pros - Awesome, more private, and best views (OTW 5 is my favourite, that's the one we had in my blog that I linked earlier). Over the water cons - Most expensive Hillside pros - private Hillside cons - not near water, can be far from food, must be able to climb stairs to get there Beachfront pros - great for families with small children, only two of these and they are direction on the beach, no obstruction between the cabana and the water's edge Beachfront cons - not much privacy and also very expensive. Standard cabana pros - lowest price, can be very close to food and bar Standard cabana cons - far from water, not much of a view, some are right along the walkway so not very private And yes, your Genie can reserve a specific cabana for you. Just let them know in their initial email which one you want. Yes, as @WAAAYTOOO mentioned, they won't deliver hard liquor, but other just ask your genie. We have had all sorts of cocktails delivered before dinner, margaritas for lunch, mimosas for breakfast, etc. When you sail SC, always go through your Genie for food/drink orders. It will be way faster than regular room service. ? Since you are sailing Anthem, I would say, try them all. I personally have favourites at every restaurant. Don't forget filet night in Coastal Kitchen! It is by far the best one and the Anthem has the best CK as far as service goes. And IMO, I would without a doubt skip the MDR with SC. lol But then I am an unashamed suite snob so that's my disclaimer. But honestly, the way I see it is that with Ultimate Dining, why not explore those specialty options. You can eat in the MDR on a non-SC sailing. And if there is a specific menu item from the MDR that you really want, just ask your Genie to have it delivered to wherever you are eating (advance notice of course). If you ask nicely, they usually don't mind. I've done it several times.
  8. Oh and @CruisnMike35, no one has said it yet, but of the most important things to remember is that "Star Class Food Coma" is a real condition. Eat wisely. lol
  9. I have wondered several times now if Covid will change that...thinking for our August cruise together... Unless you get an awesome Genie by the name of Shane. On the RCBlog Group Cruise last year on Anthem, there were many of us in @betatke1480's suite on Anthem, and Shane was there right along with us. He even made little menu cards etc. When you think of above and beyond Genie, that was him. I sure hope to run into him again one day.
  10. That's where you'll find me too! My family also doesn't usually rise before 10am. Then they wonder why they can't get breakfast anywhere. You would figure that after so many cruises they would get it, but they never do. That's why it's good to have a Genie I guess lol
  11. @CruisnMike35 Welcome to the forums and congrats on your first Star Class booking! Not over the top at all. You can have every meal in your suite if you want. Just keep in mind that different ships have different rules with that. Some will let you order from only one restaurant at a time. Some will let you order from everywhere at once. It all depends. But most definitely take advantage of in room dining. We like to do it for breakfast or lunch. As hard as they try, the meals are not as hot as when you dine in the restaurant so we still like to have dinner in the restaurants. One of these days, we will attempt to watch the sunset over dinner on our balcony lol. Follow everything @WAAAYTOOO says on this one. As already mentioned, don't let anyone tell you otherwise, it is a totally personal choice. That being said, with star class, there are a lot of people who interact with you that you might want to show appreciation to. In addition to the regulars (bartenders, room service delivery, etc.) that we tip, we also tip the Genie and both loft attendants. The lofts have two usually. Where you can skip out might be the Suite concierge if you don't really interact with him/her. The Genie usually takes the place of that. However, if you do interact with them or use their assistance, you might want to tip them as well. Cabanas in Coco Cay (if you are going there) and if there is a shore excursion that you have your heart set on, book that first on your own. Shows, dining, and board ship activities, no need at all to book early. Your Genie will get you in. The drinks in your cabin mini bar are included because they are stocked specifically for you by your genie and suite attendant. Prior to sailing, your genie will reach out and ask what you want the fridge stocked with. They have a list for you to choose from, all of which is included. My best piece of advice is to make the most of your star class vacation but keeping in mind that each ship/genie is different and that is part of the fun. It is so easy to fall into the trap of being super excited and reading everyone else's SC experience and then being disappointed because yours is not like theirs. Keep an open mind, allow the Genie some room to surprise you, and be open in communicating with your Genie and you will have a fantastic time! You ask if it is worth it, it most definitely is!!! I promise you, you will not want to cruise any other way after that! I blogged our first SC trip on Harmony. There is quite a bit of info and literature if you are interested. It's here.
  12. Totally get that. With the lofts, you do give up some privacy when travelling with the kids. The 2BDR GS is definitely better in that respect.
  13. For sure! It's still early, things tend to open up. Not for this coming sailing, but for the previous Symphony sailing that we took last summer, we originally booked a GS and upgraded to the loft after final payment.
  14. I love the lofts! Are the crown lofts all sold out already? If you can upgrade, do it! We have quite the party on Deck 17 already for that sailing. Maybe that's why Deck 17 is sold out. lol
  15. Oasis class favourites: Central Park, Aqua Theatre/Boardwalk, Coastal Kitchen Symphony favourites: in addition to all of the above...Hiro, Flight, El Loco Fresh.
  16. I have no clue either, but if I had guess, I would say that even if there was designated seating for suite guests on the pool deck, it would not be poolside. Most designated suite seating on the pool decks are further back (or up a level) from the actual pools.
