  1. I would strongly recommend booking anything and everything you can ahead of your cruise date, the sooner the better. Especially if you're thinking about any excursions. Nothing worse than spending time in line at the excursion desk on board only to find that the one you want is filled up. That's time wasted that you could have been having fun on the ship. That happened to me....once.
  2. Thanks Doc! Haven't received a twitter response yet and probably won't. Interesting post above, but, it doesn't mention anything about the "Stay In touch On The Open Seas" that is touted on the Royal Caribbean IQ website: "With Royal iQ, you're only a phone call or text away from friends and family, whether they're onboard or wishing they were onboard. Once you download the app, you'll receive your own unique onboard number. For $7.95, Royal iQ offers unlimited calling and texting to anyone onboard who has a Royal iQ communication package. Plus, you can take advantage of crystal clear outgoing (ship-to-shore) and incoming (shore-to-ship) calls, billed at a per-minute rate." That "Stay In Touch" feature is what I'm looking for next year on the Allure. Will be trying to keep 6 adults and 2 grandchildren meeting at the same place and same time daily on the Allure. Even this feature is available, it will still be like herding cats!
  3. Katie, I believe it's 3 days in advance. Of course, you can always book it once you board the ship. Have fun!
  4. Interesting comment by your TA. Have you checked your cruise planner on line? I would start there/ Even though your cruise is over a year away I'm sure Royal would have something on line. By the way welcome to the message board!
  5. Thanks! Tweet sent, will see what happens. I'm pushing for the Royal IQ on the Allure before next April.....keeping fingers crossed!
  6. Would anyone here know how I could contact Mr. Giresi, office mail address or (preferably) email? Thanks!
  7. Walmart also, very inexpensive.
  8. Here's one we did on the Allure last year, "Secret Sands Beach Exclusive and Skyline Drive". Secret Sands/Smith Bay Beach Eco Park located on St. Thomas' east end. Great beach!
  9. Well then, perhaps that is also a couple of reasons why RCI is pulling out of Falmouth.
  10. Here you go Doc, check it out. http://www.countryliving.com/food-drinks/g2821/dessert-shooters/
  11. Kind of like going to Charleston, SC. "The fascination and desire to hit up the fast food restaurants before you get into the downtown (historic) district. With all of the fantastic sights and other eateries/drinkeries there, I can understand the phenomenon." I think it all has to do with comfort level and knowledge. Most cruisers have heard/know about the Windjammer and are comfortable with the multi choice buffet, especially if they have children with them and or have traveled far that morning before getting on the ship. For the experienced cruisers, the WJ is probably a last resort as they will seek out other lunch venues for a meal. I consider a couple of Bloody Mary''s a perfect lo-cal lunch substitute! By the way, we LOVE Charleston and usually stop there for a few days in the historic district on our way home from a cruise out of Florida.
  12. Kayla, Not sure how long you will be in Falmouth, but, the shopping compound within the gated area (quite large) is clean, safe and has excellent shopping opportunities. There is even a Jimmy Buffet Margaritaville with free wifi. Do they have those or know about them in Ohio?
  13. So, were you that funky smelling dude the first night in the MDR on the Serenade this past March?
  14. Looks like you experienced RCCI "WOW" factor!
  15. March 25, 2018, Allure of the Seas, Western Caribbean April 1, 2018, Allure of the Seas, Eastern Caribbean (big birthday celebration!)
  16. As I mentioned to her a few days ago, "she has taken a "Depp" in a new direction".
  17. Tiny, I believe you could make meal out of anything wrapped in bacon, even a flip flop!
  18. Yeah, and the heartburn/indigestion too!
  19. Tiki, Ok, men wear pants and I'm sure tights and a skate skirt will be fine. Yes, there is are a couple of skating shows, but, ice skating is allowed. Check the cruise compass Matt uploaded. There should be some info there.
  20. Good advise from Tiny260 above. Definitely book the shows you want to see well before getting on board the ship, any excursions you may want to take and your dinner time. The ice skating rink is free but you will need to wear socks and pants. Enjoy!
  21. Not really. The BCarney special (sorry if I'm wrong on this) but I'm sure it is whatever curry they offer at breakfast on hash browns. I know he is a curry lover from some of his posts.
  22. Well, the people exercising aren't watching you eat. They are watching out for the people watching you eat, ie, the walkers/strollers/"casual observers.
