  1. Have never  been on the Freedom. Did two weeks back to back last year on the Allure with both eastern and western Caribbean. Eastern Caribbean was good, western not so much. But, there is plenty to do on the Allure if you choose to stay on board while in port. As far as the entertainment, it will blow your mind. We saw the three main shows twice on the back to back and enjoyed them both times. Research the Allure on Cruise Critic to see what all is available. If you choose the Allure, book all the shows, meals, excursions, etc as early as you can on line. ope this helps.

  2. Does anyone have any suggestion for a reputable tour operator that goes to Blue Hole?  I've been doing some glancing around online, but nothing too deep.

Good one Ryan for the Blue Hole, "glancing around but nothing too deep".

  3. After booking a cruise out of Bayonne, NJ to Bermuda for June we realized the America's Cup will be taking place. The last time I cruised was 10 years ago and it was to Bermuda and there were loads of excursions to choose from. This time around there are barely any to choose from and none of them seem all that exciting. We booked at the beginning of January so I'm wondering if either we booked so late that all the excursion are booked, or that they haven't all been offered yet, or lastly because the Island will be packed with visitors for the Americas Cup that RC isn't able to offer the normal amount of excursions. Does anyone have any insight to our personal experience/knowledge to what is usually offered in Bermuda and the timetable of the offerings?

Check this link out, they may be able to help you out and save you some money: http://www.shoreexcursionsgroup.com/

  4. I learned this the hard way on our first cruise. While underway, we tried booking some excursions, spa, etc only to find out they what we wanted was booked and that was after spending a lot of time standing in line. Now, we always book what we want 1-2 months (excursions, shows, meals, etc) before embarkation. Once onboard, the only thing we have to decide is what we want to eat! No more lines for us.

  5. Fairly same onboard experience. Generally, I'd say 9 nights is better than 7 nights, so go for the 9 night cruise.  But if you really value Boston time (especially before your cruise), that might be a negligible difference and then go for Serenade.

But 9 nights on a ship is pretty sweet!

Our first cruise was 7 days.....and I wanted to stow away! 7 days was just not enough for us. Since that experience we now opt for the longer cruises or do two 7 day cruises back to back. Just can't get enough cruise time, I wish I lived in Florida where there are four ports to choose from.

  6. Yes, once on board you can use your on board credit towards the purchase of a drink package, I have done this before a couple of times.

No, you cannot bring any liquor purchased at the duty free shop on bard to your cabin. Security will bag it and hold until your last cruise day and it will be delivered to your room. You can, however, carry on two 750 ml bottles of wine per stateroom and carry those to your stateroom. I've done this before.

    Hope this helps.
