A rainy day at sea is still better than a regular day on land!

My in-laws were on Majesty this past weekend, rained almost the whole cruise. RC had to cancel Coco Cay due to waves being too rough for the tenders (as mentioned on here in previous posts about various tender ports). They were offered 20% of their next cruise (I'm sure there are stipulations).
Just enjoy as best you can no matter what, have fun!

I was on Liberty of the seas in August and they showed Star Wars The Force awakens (the 2015 one that reunited Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher) in 3D in the main theatre. I realize this is not the most recent movie (Rogue One).

Already scheming and figuring out what I *might* want to book for 2018-2019.. though evidently I have to wait on Matt to schedule the group cruises so I don't get picked on anymore. ;P

I received a firm handshake from a C&A rep when I booked on board many years ago. Other than that, nada.

Agree with everyone ! It's funny b/c some people (I will call out the women more often here than the men) will THINK they're dressed up and really they look ridiculous. NOT that I'm judging...ok...maybe I am. So being dressed up doesn't always mean you look presentable. I guess that's why they keep some outline of a policy in place, otherwise God only knows what would come tromping through the MDR.

Out of respect, I do what is traditional. But as that is changing, I'm becoming happier. If I had my way, I'd be in full bum attire everyday, everywhere. In the meantime, however, that has not yet changed. So I wish the eye sore folks would find their way to Carnival.

Sometimes you should just play the game the way it is already set up, and not force your game on everyone else. Don't bring a basketball to a tennis match.

So wear a suit and a nice dress on formal night. Don't wear a tank top and flip flops to the MDR or the theater on any night. And so on. It's not always about you. Sometimes it's about respect for others. If you want it to be all about you, buy your own ship. Shy of that, conform a bit.

Confession time. I wore jeans and a button down shirt to the MDR for the first time ever on my cruise last week. I felt totally dressed down and little uncomfortable. That said, people were wearing shorts and tees, so, by comparison, I was fine. Didn't make it right though. I think if times are changing, it should be officially changed. And when it is, I'll be the happiest man in the room.

    Maybe I'm just old fashioned.

RestingBird reacted to WHStoneman in How much to tip in the beginning of a cruise?
I tip the room steward on our first meeting....and generally, $20.   I don't tip bartenders since I rarely see them again and don't drink enough to establish a regular bartender.  I know they are getting the mandatory assessed tip with every drink.    That being said, I always go to the bank and get $50 in singles because you will always need them.  Every room delivery will always get 2-3 bucks and the porter 5 per bag which doesn't include the bag I am carrying.

I'm a big Star Wars fan, and was stoked when we boarded Freedom in April 2016 and found out it was going to be shown on the outdoor screen. Star Wars by the pool, under the stars, in the hot tub, with a vodka martini...great night.

RestingBird got a reaction from DocLC in Cameras...should I buy a new toy
If you're only using the GoPro for cruising I'd have to agree with DocLC, find a cheaper waterproof camera. I use mine for mountain biking, slip n slides, surfing, etc, so it's worth the price, especially now that the new ones have a screen to see what kind of shot you're getting.
