  1. Thanks for posting! I need to start checking for January flights!
  2. You are right. Just want it to be perfect. We are very laid back people so relaxing is our specialty. It will be great. Thanks Kla. Sometimes you just need to hear it from an outsider! Thank you! ?
  3. Thanks KLA! I'm second guessing myself because we are waiting two months after the wedding to go. If we went in November or December I wouldn't get paid while off-maybe 15 hours. Ahhh
  4. I want to thank each and every one of you who offered up your advice. We actually changed our ports to Western Caribbean on Oasis out of Orlando in an ocean view balcony stateroom for the same price as a promenade on Navigator for 9 nights. It's tough and we still aren't sure we made the right decision. We wanted something different than Freedom and I think Oasis will give us that. It may be our last cruise for a few years. I have a feeling that I will go back to Freedom class or similar after. I couldn't pass on the price I found for 7 nights on Oasis in superior ocean view balcony $851 pre tax per person! Can't wait to learn all I can about this ship!
  5. I think you are right! This might be our last cruise for awhile-as Matt would say YOLO....Book it!
  6. Update: I found if I change the itinerary on Oasis for Labadee, Jamaica and Cozumel I can get an oceanview balcony for the same price as a promenade 9 nights on the navigator. I've yet to have a oceanview balcony....
  7. Thanks for the advice everyone! Still haven't decided. 9 nights at sea sounds wonderful but so does oasis. ? I'm so glad I can count on you all for great advice!
  8. Congratulations! I just realized it is 6 months today until the wedding! I've been so cool and calm until now! I've slacked so much!
  9. Is Miami a difficult terminal? I've heard about the tent...
  10. It's tough. We really wanted to try Oasis class. $200 difference in price-Navigator is cheaper-would be in a promenade room. The only room I've ever been in! I do like new things. Navigator just had a refurb so I would hope she isn't showing her age. I'll sleep on it, and hopefully decide in a couple days!
  11. Oasis shows will be top notch. I've heard it can feel crowded on sea days on top deck trying to find a chair. Navigator has Chops and Sabor so I wouldn't miss those! I've only been on Freedom twice. Navigator is just smaller than Freedom. I want to try a newer ship class. Freedom was beautiful but I want a change. Would Navigator feel different for us?
  12. My fiancé and I are trying to decide on a honeymoon cruise. We are wanting to go to the Caribbean in January (November is the wedding, but I have no PTO left). We have been on Freedom of the seas. Looking at Oasis 7 night-Labadee, St Martin, Puerto Rico or the 9 night on Navigator to Labadee and the ABC islands. We really wanted to do Harmony but it's a little out of our price range when you factor in the cost of the flights. Can you help us decide since we can't? Thanks!
  13. I only have 55k in loyalty rewards and I've been playing sporadically for two years. I play on my phone. I check the rewards and see RC cruises on there, but feel I will never get to that point!
  14. Wish I could, but I' have a conference for work in March in Chicago, then I'm going to opening week in April in Chicago! Maybe Vegas in the summer, maybe, and maybe getting married in November. On a side note, I believe I may have to use the norovirus excuse. I think that my fiancé's mother condition is pre-existing. She had a massive stroke 8 years ago. in 2016 she developed an infection in a bone flap in her skull. She has had 9 surgeries since and one of those was last week to take out a tissue expander and close the wound-it was unexpected in that they didn't expect to do it then. Hmm...
  15. I called Delta and explained the situation. I told them about my fiancé's mother having surgery. They asked for her name and hospital of the surgery. I am able to use the funds until Sept with no change fee. I initiated the claim information. It takes a couple days for them to send you the claim form. I already have some money credited to my credit card that my travel agent was able to take care of. I will keep posting. Now where should I fly to? :)
  16. Thanks for the advice everyone. I'm hoping to get at least 50% back. I'm out the airfare but that's ok. I did book insurance with royal when I initially booked! Thankful I did! I hope we can get past this too. He has a fear of flying, but there are medications to help. I would have gone by myself if I knew someone from periscope would have been there or if it was the group cruise! I look very young for my age and thought in terms of my safety and having someone I could go to if needed. I'll keep everyone posted with using RC insurance. See you in periscope!
  17. Does anyone have experience with Royal's trip insurance? I had to cancel my cruise 2 days prior to sailing. My fiance had a major panic attack at the airport. His mother also had an unexpected surgery that day.I had the stomach flu in the days leading up to this. Needless to say, I was pretty upset about the whole thing. I should be on my way to Mexico, but here I am. Has anyone had success in getting some money back from RCI? My TA cancelled the cruise and stated I should get a minimum amount back and that we will file a claim tomorrow. I did not book my flights with RC. I'm out the money there as I was to fly Delta. I will be stuck paying for 1 night hotel as I needed to cancel 24 hours prior. I just read from a group on Facebook that it took someone 8 months! Does anyone have any advice? Thanks in advance.
  18. I was fortunate enough to board a hotel shuttle in Port Canaveral at Country Inn and Suites with a 945 departure. It was perfect!
  19. Second formal night, or second night of cruise is formal night? Just clarifying. I think Chops-Night 2 (which happens to be formal) is a good choice as I don't eat anything from the sea. :D
  20. Does anyone know the menu order/rotation in the MDR for a 5 night Caribbean cruise? I have Chops booked the second night (formal) and I'm hoping it's on a night that I did not like much on the MDR menu. TIA!
  21. I'm interested in this too. I've never used Uber but thought about using it in FLL. I'm flying in 2 nights before next month!
  22. I love the fries in the windjammer. I had them daily last cruise! I will be sad if they changed, but it won't make or break my vacation :D
  23. Yes not all disabilites are visible. I do wish therapy dogs wore a visible vest or something similar that is easily recognizable like I have seen a lot of working dogs. I have seen 'therapy' dogs while working at my doctors office without a vest or tag and I asked them to return animal to car. I wish this would be adopted nationally so it's easily recognizable and not someone taking advantage of the system.
  24. I wish they would offer the card for 4-5 night cruises to purchase pre cruise in the planner-like the cafe select card. That would be my personal drink package as I cannot drink enough to make the ultimate package worth it!
