  1. Quatum class is automatically handicapped in my opinion because of the the home port and itinerary. We usually cruise in November and April and NY can still be a bit chilly not to mention bermuda and Nassau are not my favorites. That said, had Anthem been available today for fall 2017, I would have considered it. Instead I booked Oasis :) now just waiting for Navigator itineraries. :(

  2. If you can grab aft 1694 or 1394 you will experience a HUGH balcony. We were in 1694 last year and the balcony was approx. 13'x13'.

Does the fact that the 2 cabins you referenced are connecting staterooms diminish it's appeal? Love seat instead of full couch?

Secondly, I just found out that "eskimo house" is showing freedom, Adventure and allure cruses already through spring 2018. Just curious, do all the large TAs get advanced informaton or just that one?

  3. In preparation for the release of caribbean itineraries next week, I am wondering if we should try to shoot for an aft JS or one on the hump. We have stayed in Junior suites before but never on the hump (I'm told a larger balcony). We have also stayed in an aft balcony on Adventure before and loved it. We current have the center leading hump JS on both allure and Freedom on future booked cruises. The the question is, if Navigator is still doing 9nt southern, would you prefer Aft JS or Hump JS?

Unless of course there is a phenomenal price on a GS :)

  4. Thank you all for your replies.  We have decided to go with the excursion route.  We just don't want the stress.  Stress free vacation for us :)

I was trying to book one of the excursions and it said the port time and ship time may be different so keep that in mind when booking.  How do I found this out?

I think your choice is wise, particularly for relatively new cruisers. Most of the time I will gladly pay an extra %25 for the comfort of knowing the ship won't leave me behind. Also, almost all of the Caribbean is on EST and ship time should be the same as port time. There is usually a line in the cruise compass if it will different than that.

  5. Maybe it is just me, but the crap they sell on board is, well....crap. I would cheerfully purchase a good quality golf or oxford shirt emblazoned with the RCCL logo and pay a pretty penny for it, but all I have seen is very uncomfortable tee shirts with poor screen prints. It's ok with me that I can't find it off the ship too.
