  1. I don't think that is right? Intl waters is when stores open and the casino but they should be allowed to serve you drinks today. Check again. Have fun
  2. Hi All I'll be on the Oasis of the Seas, this Saturday for a 2 night sailing Anything you want me to check out or ask while onboard? let me know Very excited.
  3. Not likely it will be announced RCI is good about not disrupting people late at night with announcements but I bet if you go to the Guest Services they may have an idea of when you will pass the bridge or can find out
  4. Agree love the RFID for luggage Can 't wait to try all this out in a few months
  5. Agreed White Sox fan but I have also asked airport employees at the convenience stores also for a stapler and put them on there same day! but I never come in the same day hardly ever anymore after almost missing a ship
  6. love the sleeves - just had a bunch of clients use the printed tags, and not have them protected in a huge storm in FL and they were not legible to the porters. The sleeves protect you - you can still get on cause the porters can look up your cabin # but the lines to do this on a rainy day can be long..... AND I don't haul the tape or stapler, I ask the hotel desk for these the morning we sail and they let me borrow their's.
  7. Yep reading this blog, or actually going on another cruise sooner I'm headed out to Oasis next week but I constantly look at new offers, or dates that look interesting Feelin your pain
  8. that is quite a difference - if you can screen shot it sometimes they will help you out but they still know that within the same time frame someone else can book the same cruise and it jumps the pricing Bummer calling into C & A can give you deals though too and discounts
  9. only cooler part will be sailing down the East Coast from Baltimore - and it may be a little rocky if there are any storms around - but then in the Bahamas it will be great weather that time of year usually
  10. Yep, unfortunately! it is itemized and even by the person in the room. depending on the ship you can check your balances on line as well but go down at least one day before disembarking and have them run a report for you to make sure you do not see any discrepancies, then the crew puts a final bill under your door, or hang it outside your door the night before you disembark
  11. The beach club ideas are a good option - plenty of time usually to walk around downtown and then back on the ship -- snorkeling is good here and we have gone over to Playa del Carmen as well which I really like
  12. Happy to discuss options with people - I've booked myself on a few of these Trying to get up to Platinum Status quicker, lol
  13. Budget - Comfort Inn, Hotel Plaza de Armas, Mid Range- Sheraton Puerto Rico, Caribe Hilton, La Terraza de San Juan, Condado Plaza Hilton Higher Side- La Concha (my favorite in San Juan), Marriott San Juan Resort, Hotel El Convento Many times the cruise line has these too, but I find booking separately can save you money
  14. Mike- no I do not but I'll be on the oasis on Aug 30th so will try it out Michelle
  15. Glad you found it - post back what you think after tour
  16. cool going to try this one as well, thanks www.ripple-connect.com
  17. I was on the ship last year and liked it a lot - no its not new but it has some classic things about it like the Great Gatsby dining room that is very nice - I think for a first cruise a mega ship would be overwhelming - This one is easy to get around and has some of the newer features like the Solarium Park Cafe that is nice. Chops and Portofino are more intimate. Its all about you making the most of your trip! email me if you have more questions.
  18. these are great cabins with lots of floor room! enjoy the trip
  19. These have been reviewed as some of the top 5 apps. I have not tried them out yet, Anyone else have? Stole this from another site. ;) 1. Ship Mate App - is often hailed as the number one app for cruisers and for good reason. The app has all you will need to plan an amazing time onboard and off. Organize your cruise itinerary, daily excursions, deck maps and you can even reach out to fellow cruisers through their roll call function. Available for free on iTunes and Android. 2. Deck Director -app is for those cruises with absolutely no sense of direction. Containing detailed maps of decks plans from all ships in a variety of fleets. You will never be late for group dinners again. iTunes $4.99. 3. Cruise Guard Control - app is useful for keeping control of spending while sailing. Let's you create expense categories, double check bills for accuracy and cost compare with past cruises. iTunes $0.99. 4. Cruise Camera - let's you virtually connect to daily cruise life through various webcams installed on nearly 100 ships on a variety of cruise lines. Additionally the app gives you access to more than 150 port cams around the world. iTunes $1.99. 5. Sea Sickness -let's cruisers overcome the dreaded sea sickness while onboard. The health app let's ill cruisers use the touch motion sensor to display a virtual shore line or horizon, which is thought to cure sea sickness. There are different shore line themes and users can switch from day view to night view. iTunes $.099.
  20. Welcome Nicky Yes they do Laundry Service and they do often run a special like Matt said where you can load up a bag for $25 - and Crown & Anchor members will sometimes get specials too - so keep sailing!
  21. yep I would be wary of reviews - not everyone will love the ship but like the others here have posted they have sailed it themselves and thought it was great - I would trust our reviewers!!
  22. Welcome to the boards- depending on my flight time home, I have both pulled my own luggage off the ship (walked off) and have used the ship number system as well Also depends on the port - in FLL its so close to get off the ship and to the airport I take my time - In Orlando- I get off quicker, cause its an hour to the airport, etc Also they give you a letter in your cabin the night before you disembark that explains what to do with numbers, or if you are walking off I agree Matt - blog post for sure
  23. Most of the time they do not show up until 60 days before the ship sails, however on some sailings it can be as close in as 30 days. I have called them to actually ask this question too and had the agents book things for me over the phone - does not seem to be consistent unfortunately? others?
  24. totally agree on Southwest - and they have a good groups department to work with to
  25. Like the sticky note idea-and I have used whiteboards-I often write "Check for note inside on mirror" or check the phone for a message etc" little more private.
