  1. No organization has come to my house yet to "teach" me how to cook, I guess they haven't reach all the "Mexican people" yet. You are mainly talking about street vendors, even Mexicans are cautious about eating there. But there are more than street food vendors in Mexico. To believe that all the food sold in Mexico falls into the same category is an mistake (I'm not saying that you think this). We have sanitary regulations and regular inspections on stablished food vendors like any other country. As you said, eat at obviously organized kitchens, with immediately cooked dishes and high food turnover is the safe way to go. And avoid tap water.
  2. I'm not sure the "credit" will cover the full price of the massage (plus tips).
  3. I've just read that it was filmed prior HOTS was heading to Miami, from Ft Lauderdale to Miami.
  4. It looks like he chartered the sailing for him and 400 subscribers. I'm not sure when was this, but i guess it must have been relatively recently (no more than a year). He then gifted a 3 night Icon of the seas cruise for every guest he invited. Cool!
  5. And still you reposted the moderated content...
  6. Maybe rent a car would be cheaper. Don't forget to take into account the train ticket price. These are One way ticket prices from Miami to Orlando. Source: https://www.youtube.com/@MickeyViews
  7. I Know, and one have to be at least Diamond to take advantage of this discounts. And that's why I said "...almost all C&A discounts". The % of Gold, Platinum and Emerald C&A cruisers is way bigger than the % of Diamond and above.
  8. That's the catch, so RC have a never ending "sale" that turns obsolete almost every C&A Discount.
  9. Let's hope it gets it next year on the dry dock scheduled for Oct 2024
  10. There is no port in Santorini, all ships have to tender. The problem is not getting to Oia, the real problem is getting back to your ship on time. You have to go down to the pier where the tenders are and there are only two ways to get there, by cable car or by stairs (not recommended). The cable car line can be up to 2 hours or more. Here are some helpful tips: https://thetravelhack.com/blog/santorini-cruise-puerto-a-oia/
  11. Also all freestyle cups have the same shape and size and you have to put them on the sensor before pouring beverages so there's no way it can touch the dispenser directly.
  12. No, you're not being too whiny. Good food is or used to be a very important part of cruising, now it seems that is just optional...
  13. I haven't personally cruised on Costa but I understand that Costa Cruises are more tailored towards europeans, specially Italians. So be aware of that, language, food and drinks would be my main concern.
  14. I live in Mexico, and I totally understand when tourist feels uneasy or insecure coming here after seeing terrible news like this. However (and not trying to play down this tragedy) the recent reports suggest that this was a confrontation between criminal groups. As others have pointed, criminal groups rarely targets tourist. However, recently just before a FOS cruise on Miami on spring break, my wife and I where eating in South Beach when we were caught in the middle of what looked like a gang fight with guns involved, luckily no shots were fired but this happened right next to us, obviously I would feel uneasy coming back to SB any time soon. So I could understand If someone would prefer staying on the ship when visiting a Mexican port of call.
  15. Showing so little knowledge about Royal Caribbean, I would change TA ASAP
  16. This sounds exactly like a chartered cruise, you should address your complaints to the company who chartered the ship, not Royal.
  17. I was bitting my tongue to not address this kind of comments but couldn't do it. Calling Costa Maya a slums and a Junk port seems harsh and uninformed. The dock could be called "Costa Maya" but really is the town of Mahahual what you're visiting when you're there. It's a shame you didn't gave yourself the chance to know the place.
  18. Is it safe? Because I'm on the sailing just before yours (July 10-14) and will be there with a rental car... How early do you have to park to get a spot? Does it get full?
  19. this is allowed, but I'm not sure if is really cheaper that just ordering a cocktail...
  20. Exactly, it depends on the ship, the bartender and the the alignment of the stars. I guess that a good tip can make the difference.
  21. Avoid buying a ticket for a regional train, from Roma Termini to Civitavecchia the price for a regional train ticket is €5 (about 1h15m), an Intercity train costs €11 (48m), and a Freccia Bianca train costs €15 (42m). Always choose either one of the last two. But if someone in your travel party has mobility problems I would book a private transfer from Rome instead, because the train option includes several flights of stairs carrying your luggage depending on the platform you arrive/departure. Then you have to transfer to a Bus Shuttle to take you to the port. Walking distance is about 1.6 miles or about 30 minutes walking.
  22. They sometimes have a cooler with drinks right before the gangway and you can take them unopened off the ship so its doable.
  23. This is disturbing, I can't imagine how they came to think that storing the body in a cooler was appropriate. Speechless.
  24. Kim_swim just registered to make this his/her only one post...
